The Lodge at Old Trail is a senior living community located in the Old Trail Village, in beautiful Crozet Virginia. The Lodge at Old Trail is not simply a retirement community. The Ridges, are residential senior living 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments that are bright and spacious, with complete kitchens, ample closet space, and generous balconies.

Piedmont assisted living apartments feature generously sized rooms, kitchenettes, large closets and balconies. We provide support and services, most can be provided in the apartment, that assist our residents in maintaining independence.

Seasons Memory Care™ provides assisted living in a state-​of-​the-​art secured memory care center. The Seasons provides an optimal environment for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

History

Established in 2011.

Old Trail Village, home to over 400 families, is a planned community designed to bring the best of classic small town living to contemporary urban design.

Houses, town homes and apartments surround a village center. Shopping, restaurants, healthcare and personal services are all within walking distance. A community garden brings neighbors together and the Village Center is home to Saturday night summer gatherings for the whole neighborhood.

It’s easy for the entire family to stay active with six miles of walking trails, a fitness center, soccer field, Olympic sized pool and golf club all located within Old Trail Village. Historic sites, schools, healthcare facilities, houses of worship, and shopping are within a convenient driving distance.

Meet the Business Owner

David H.

Business Owner

David Hilliard is a native of Charlottesville, VA. Many of his family also reside in the area.

Mr. Hilliard has a Bachelors of Science from Washington College in Chestertown, MD. He also has an accreditation from The Erickson School of Aging for Management and Operations of Seniors Housing and Care. He began his career on the investment side in Institutional Sales/​Equities with Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette and was also a Managing Director at Wachovia Bank. In 2000 he began working in the healthcare industry as an Investor/​Advisor for Shelburne Bay Senior Living in Shelburne, VT. Mr. Hilliard then — in conjunction with a local partner — founded The Lodge at Otter Creek in 2006. The Lodge at Otter Creek is located in Middlebury, VT and is a similar community to The Lodge at Old Trail. In 2007 Mr. Hilliard founded Piedmont Senior Living for the purpose of developing The Lodge at Old Trail.
