Meet the Business Owner
Haig H.
Business Owner
In the early 50’s, Haig’s father was one the most respected carpet retailers in the Chicago area. At 8 years old, Haig began working weekend’s at his dad’s store and by high school he was installing carpet. He went on to Southern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business.
From the mid –70’s to the mid-80’s, Haig worked as a carpet manufacturer’s representative for World Carpet in Dalton, GA., one of the largest carpet mills in the United States. He went out on his own to open Midwest Carpet in Crystal Lake, IL. In 1993, he purchased Exceeds existing site from Wicked Lumber and joined the Carpet One buying co-op. Haig sold Carpet One in 2003 and retired. In 2006, he came out of retirement and opened Exceed Flooring and Surfaces.
Haig currently chairs the Economic Development Committee of Crystal Lake. His passions include sports cars from the 1950’s and 1960’s but his real passion is his business.
