History

Established in 2010.

I came up with the Point the way concept several years ago after deciding I wanted to travel the country and saw what an expensive trip it would be. Since masonry, working with brick, has been a passion of mine for some time now, I decided to use that to fund my trip. I am fascinated by brick and stone buildings, and really appreciate the workmanship that goes into them, it is apparent that people in the «good old days» took great pride in their work. Unfortunately quality and workmanship has been sacrificed for the idea to do things the quickest, fastest, and cheapest way. Because I take great pride in my work, and never sacrifice a job for a check, I have decided to do restoration work on old buildings, as well as fixing newer construction. While I used to be a member of a union, I decided to leave after seeing the morality and pride that my fellow tuck pointers took in their work.

My names Jonathan Fair and I’m a Mason in McHenry County IL. I have been involved with Masonry Restoration for some time and absolutely love it. Taking a lot of pride in my work, having never allowed anyone to push me to substitute the quality of my work as a quick way to make a buck, and always taking the customers concerns to heart and keeping them in mind while I do the job. I myself am not motivated by the money, but by my passion to give everything I do my best effort, and that’s what led to the creation of Point the Way.
