Precision Body Works II

Brett, Phil, and Corey did an impossible job on my drag car. After a minor accident in the garage, which took out the front left fender, grill, radiator, Etc. On a candy tangerine/​red custom color from 20 year old paint job,…they matched it so close that only a judge at an auto show could tell that it has been repaired. 23k gold leaf, 4″ lettering on the fender, was exactly like the rest of the lettering on the door. Highly recommend these guys for any daily driver or custom/​mod car.

Phil is the man. I’ll go out of my way to give these guys my business next time I’m in need for helping me out so generously and urgently.

I went to this place perhaps 6 years ago and have not been back since. I took the car in to fix the rust around one of the wheel wells in my Honda and a small spots in the sunroof. I think they went for a quick, cheap fix instead of being more thorough as the paint job over it was bubbling up in less than a month. When I went to complain they told me that rust can never be completely fixed and could still reappear. I replied that it might if some was missed the first time around, but it certainly should not show signs of reappearing in 3 weeks. They took it back, but I think all they did was re-​sand down the paint and bondo and put a new layer on it. It lasted about 3 times as long as the first round, but again, rust started bubbling back through.
I guess I was expecting too much; like cutting or grinding away the body of my car a few inches beyond the rust spot, welding on a new piece of sheet metal and then using bondo to fill in the area. Instead they simply filled in the hole with expanding foam and put bondo over that. The whole area had little strength to it since the bondo was not very thick. If the rust was completely removed and the surrounding area treated, it would have taken much longer for it to reappear.
For the sunroof, it fared a little bit better. The rust spots that needed fixing were small, fairly shallow, and mostly along the corners where water can build up. It took quite a bit longer for rust to re-​emerge after it was fixed, but it was inevitable given the wheel well repair. The areas where rust emerged were just under the bondo and all along the edge of where it was applied. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but if you do the job properly and with care, these kinds of problems should not reappear so soon.
The paint they used also seemed substandard — it faded in less than a year and in many places the clearcoat started peeling.
On a side note, they did seem to handle a repair job on the very same car a year or so prior well enough. For basic reassembly and welding jobs they could very well be a fine place to do business with. However, if extra special attention and care are needed, you may find them cutting corners. I will not be going back a 3^rd time.

Picked my car up last night. Couldn’t ask for better service. I was told it would take a week and they were true to their word. Cassandra handled everything with my insurance company and my car looks like new again. A very professionally run shop. Will return if future work needed but obviously hope I don’t have to.

I took my Toyota Prius in for an estimate late in the day and Precision Body Works was able to get my estimate done in 10 minutes for the scratch and dent on my car, and I was out the door to get my kiddos from Preschool on time. They were fast, friendly and very helpful. To the gentelman Rick E., I’m imagining they were unable to fit you in because Precision Body Works is very good. They are very busy, even without advertising. And as far as the traffic goes on Rte 31, that’s temporary and come on, we live in the Chicago area, perhaps think about moving to Wisconsin where there isn’t any traffic. Keith K.: I’m sorry your experience wasn’t as good as mine; perhaps you were at a different body shop down the street? The customer service here is outstanding. She coordinated everything for me, and, they are also a «Select Choice Provider», hand selected by inurance appraisers of USAA, military banking, which speaks volumes.

Dont waste your time going here unless you enjoy experiencing poor customer service. It is at least 1 months wait to get your car worked on, yet they offer no suggestions as to what can be done in the meantime.
Having dealt with body shops several times for car repairs, This place is not somewhere i would ever recommend to anyone nor ever go again myself.
Save yourself the pain of fighting traffic on Route 31 and find another location that will treat you with respect and honesty.

won’t let them work on another vehicle of mine ever again, don’t quote me a price and then charge me more when I pick it up, and we agreed it was no rush to keep the price down. Btw, no, didn’t dig the paint job… communication, there was none unless I called.

This company is reputable and I will bring my car (s) there for any additional service (which I hope is not the case again due to personal error), and will also refer to family and friends. I brought my car in for an estimate and Cassandra gave me a quote, and also worked with my insurance company on pricing. Cassandra was also great at follow up, as they are go getters and eager to get your business, something I definitelty liked. Car was promised finished in 2 days and it was completed in 2 days. Car was washed and vaccumed, like previous customer mentioned, and it’s also a very nice touch that they leave a bag of cookies on your seat when you pick up your vehicle. Friendly and professional place. Highly recommend.

The staff was friendly, courteous, and definitely skilled because once we received back our new Impala that had been in a fender bender, we couldn’t tell it ever was. Always up-​to-​date and willing to talk with our insurance company, one of the best service experiences I have had in general. I’ll use them in a heartbeat again when I need auto body work done. I have had the need to have 3 vehicles repaired in the past. They were all dents that were large enough to require repair, not any major accidents. I have been very happy with their quality of work every time, and I am picky. Fantastic customer service! I had a scratch in my motorcycle windshield today and called to see if they could repair it. Brett said bring it in. I did, and he spent at least 30 minutes sanding and buffing! He charged me practically nothing and it saved me from having to buy a new windshield! I am and always have been very happy with their service. It’s rare to have that kind of service nowadays!

I brought my Lexus here after someone in a pick-​up truck backed into it and left the indentation of their hitch on my hood — while taking my paint with them. I brought my car to Precision Body Works for a quote and decided to have my car fixed there — and I couldn’t be happier.
I dropped my car off on Sunday night. On Tuesday Cassandra called me and told me my car would be finished Wednesday and I could pick it up. When I picked it up Wednesday evening it looked exactly like it did when I got it from the dealer. The hood looked like nothing ever happened, it was washed, tires shined, and vacuumed inside. They even left cookies and a thank you note inside and touched up the scratches on my rear bumper!
I definitely recommend anyone needing any type of body work on any car to bring their car to Precision Body Works. They guarantee their work for as long as you own the car, the staff is professional and friendly, and they do AWESOME work.
