History

Established in 1951.

Werner’s Trading Company, a family tradition began in 1951. Robert Werner started in the army surplus business in the town of Cullman, Alabama. The business evolved from army surplus and a hardware store to general merchandise. Now it is known as a gathering place where family browse and friends meet. Our product diversity is our calling card.

The integrity of Werner’s Trading Company is reflected through the accomplishments of the Werner family. Accomplishments of Rob Werner include the Small Business of the Year award for Cullman and received third place in the state for retailing in Small Business.

Community involvement is a part of Werner’s. Robert Werner served over 45 years on community boards. Rob serves the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, a Juvenile Court program, United Way and numerous other community projects.

Rob Werner has taken Werner’s Trading Company outside our small town and hopes you will enjoy the same experience as those who visit the store.
