Having been established in 1885 by my Grandfather, we continue to offer our unique combination of custom candles of all sizes and colors and consultation services for homes and special events. Our 25 years of service to the film industry, providing double and triple wick candles can be viewed at houseofcandlesculvercity.com. Personalized birthday and wedding candles can be made by special order. Thanksgiving and Christmas candles are especially enjoyed as gifts for the Holidays.
History
Established in 1993.
My Grandfather, Antonino Ajello, came to the United States from Sorrento, Italy. He opened our business in New York, in 1885, with a shop in the Waldorf Astoria, a shop on 124th Street and a factory in Mamaroneck. In 1935, my mother, Virginia Ajello Reardon, with my Dad, opened the first west coast shop in Beverly Hills, Calif. In 1942 she moved the shop to Westwood Village, near U.C.L.A. Thirty-seven years later, in 1979, we opened our own building at our present location in Culver City, Calif., where we remain today. My mother passed away in 1994 and I continue to carry on this wonderful tradition with our generations of oh so very special customers.

Born in Los Angeles, California. I attended Marymount schools and the University of Southern California, earning a BFA in Design. I joined my mother in our family business in 1963 and we worked together for over 30 years. Married over 40 years with a wonderful family and grandchildren. I have continued to serve our customers all over the world.
