CECI School

I was doing my friend a favor by picking up my god son from this day care recently and the lady was super rude. I was 2 min late from picking him up and she snapped at me. I was waiting for another lady to pull out of the driveway so I can pick him up to put his car seat in my car. She told me that it was not her concern she has things to do and that I need to be there at 530pm no later but with an ugly tone. So I asked her what time it was and she said 535pm. Really, for 5 min you’re going to talk to me in that tone. I don’t think so. I am a guest picking someone else’s kid. If you have a problem you need to address that with the mom. And if you’re going to be in this line of business you need to be professional regardless. Makes me think how you really treat the kids you take care of… not good!

CeCe’s SCHOOL is great! I know she’s listed as more a Family Daycare but both our kids go (have gone here) and they both love it here. Not only are they provided a warm and loving environment with lots of toys and a nice clean space to play, CeCe and Dulce (who’s been there for 5 yrs as her lead teacher) always provide a really nice warm lunch for the kids that is honestly much healthier and tastier than what I’ve seen at our son’s current school. He’s of school age so has moved on but our daughter still goes here (1.5 YO) and she’s been there since she was barely a few months old. CeCe does a great job of integrating all the kids and I have nothing but great things to say about her level of care and attention to the kids.
The reason I say this is almost more a SCHOOL; unlike most family care centers and even some preschools, she really does a great job of working on language and introducing math skills to the kids. Cole is fluent in Spanish thanks to her instruction and she even does a great job of integrating an almost Montesorri style of learning as the older kids will also even take turns reading to the younger kids during circle/​reading time or helping them with their Arts and Crafts. Once again, I think she goes WAY above and beyond a regular family care center and I would liken the experience (or at least what the kids really learn and get out of it) to a higher level of education than just daycare/​childcare.
One last note, I know that from first impressions that her facilities aren’t the newest or the shiniest but please don’t let that dissuade you in at least giving her a shot. You will notice that while she might not have the fanciest toys like a place like Chalk, what the kids really get out of the experience is unparalleled at a home Daycare and I do consider it to rival even full blown Preschool experiences. If you are snooty, this is probably not the place for you but if you really care about a loving, nurturing environment where your kids are well cared for, fed and learn in, this is a great place and a great value.

I cannot understand why there aren’t more reviews here. Ceci is a child whisperer. Her focus is on socialization and acculturation rather than rote learning. (She does a lot of teaching as well… don’t get me wrong.)
Though this is technically home day care, she runs it like a preschool. NO TELEVISION! I go to pickup my son and the kids are often seated very quietly listening to a story or quietly working on tasks she has assigned them. She has zero tolerance for bad manners.
I believe that while learning and free play have their place, children of this age really require a lot of caring teaching about how to be a person: how to empathize; how to speak; how to deal with others.
My son was more physical than many his age which resulted in a lot of hitting and pushing. Well, before he came to Ceci’s school. I was one of those parents who started to dread picking up his kid because there would always be a story about how he misbehaved. The first day I picked him up, I was ready for the day’s report. I knew he couldn’t grow out of it in one day. Ceci greeted me and said he had done well and hadn’t been physical AT ALL!!!
She is a genius and takes her job very seriously, going way above and beyond what the vast majority of home day care centers do.
My son is a better person for it.

We love CECI School! Our son (21 months) has been attending since he was 10 months and he is so happy there. Ceci and Dulce take such excellent care of the kids, so we’ve never had a moment’s worry. Plus they do tons of activities — puzzles, stories, songs, crafts etc. It’s bilingual too, which is perfect in LA. We just had an awesome mother’s day celebration there. The kids made wind chimes and other great gifts for the moms. Ceci made wonderful food and everyone had so much fun. I would give CECI School 10 stars if I could :)
