Dave Frost Automotive

If you need any automotive needs I strongly recommend Dave frost. I came in for a clutch job on my car and gave me the cheapest price around, compared to other places I called this was by far the best price. I took my car yesterday and he was done that very same day. That’s impressive. He takes 100% attention to the vehicle he works on. Even changed my transmission fluid, there aren’t a lot of honest guys out there, I’m glad I came here. I found my new mechanic. Thank you Dave.

Dave is great! Why?

Because he’s great, he’s also busy. Be sure to call ahead and schedule an appointment the day before.

My car burst a coolant pipe and overheated on the 405 so I pulled off at Jefferson and just happened to be right next to Dave’s shop. Dropped it off just at closing time, received a call at 9am the next morning detailing exactly what was wrong with it, and I picked it up that night. The price was fair and he used OEM parts. I can’t imagine any reason not to recommend this shop at least for the admittedly minor repairs I needed. Dave is a nice dude and explained every charge individually. Don’t listen to whomever that Minerva person is; she’s the only one star review for the shop so she’s either dishonest, a mean person, or some extortionist because the shop «neglected» to pay fees to this site.

Took our first generation to Dave when several warning lights came on and so glad we did. Dave was honest about the issue and took the time to explain our options and various pros and cons for each. We’ve been looking for someone to service our priuses who wouldn’t con us the way the dealers have for years and are happy we found our guy!

A few lights came on in my car yesterday, I’ve done some research online and I feel it’s best to bring it in for service rather than try to fix it myself. I don’t have time to sit at the dealership because of my work schedule so I found this auto repair shop online and it has great reviews. Aside from Minerva’s. But hers doesn’t feel honest. She sounds very unreliable as a reviewer. I will update my review after my service is done.

I finally found a auto repair shop that I can trust. David Frost is a no nonsense repair shop. Don’t go there is you want to get a bunch of free advice and are not ready to drop off. They have limited hours, but they do what they say and fix the cars like they were their own.
I’ve very happy to have found Dave. I’ll be taking my cars there for years to come.

This is the place. If you’re tired of crooks, incompetents, and dealers who just treat you like a jerk, come here. I’ve used Dave for maybe 20 years and he’s not only good, he’s honest, and he won’t fix something that doesn’t need fixing. He’ll also find the obscure thing nobody else has found. Yes, come here.

Called Dave to replace the headlight on my 2007 Prius. He got me in right away, charged a fair price (almost half of the dealership’s quote) and I was on my way within 30 minutes. Will be taking the Prius back to him whenever I need service. Highly recommend Dave.

I read good reviews on Unilocal,so went there. I came in at 3 pm on Friday, and asked Dave if he could do a safety check on my car before I started driving a long distance to a new job. My ‘Maint Required’ light was on, and I wanted to be sure nothing major was an issue. I had lost my Maintenance Manual so did not know what my car was due for. It would have taken 5 mins to look this up. I realize this was late on a Friday, but just needed some feedback and maybe schedule an appt for later in the week.
Dave’s attitude was very negative. This was my first time in the shop. I asked if he was open Saturdays, and he was not polite in his response. His attitude was rude and offensive from the start. We never got further and I cannot rate the service, but from experience, with attitude like that, I don’t want a long term relationship. If people disrespect me, they don’t get my business. Very unpleasant encounter, and will never go back.

I took my 2010 Toyota Prius in for an oil change and inspection. Dave was able to fit me in the next day. He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. He did a full check up of my car and made recommendations on the things I needed to fix. I appreciated that he told me which things needed fixing right away and which things could wait 6 months from now. I will definitely take my car back to Dave.

Dave Frost Automotive has been my mechanic for the past 8 years. His service is extraordinary and his prices are more than fair and competitive. I think that he is a very honest business person and a superb mechanic. In addition, he is friendly and has wonderful customer service. I always enjoy taking my car there :-) Dave is a godsend!

After being treated like crap at my old spot-​Ed Little– I did some Unilocaling and found this gem! Dave was awesome! He was honest and fixed my husbands Prius in a timely manner at a reasonable price! I know it can be difficult to find a place other than the pricey dealer to fix a Prius so I highly recommend this place! You can tell that they really care about their customers here and strive for excellent customer service. For example, we were a little late dropping off the car (times listed on Unilocal were off) so the garage was closed when we got there. We called and Dave graciously opened shop to let us drop it off anyways. Life saver! Will definitely be coming here again in the future should our cars need care!

Dave is an honest and extremely fair mechanic. He is a godsend, and he’s saved me a lot of money. He never suggests unnecessary work, and is a straight-​shooter.
You do have to call ahead for an appointment, and he has a tiny shop. But he is absolutely the best mechanic! I found him through Unilocal and have been using him for years.

WOW! This place came highly recommended by a friend and I can see why! My headlight went out on a Monday; I called that afternoon and he said I could come in first thing Tuesday morning. I arrived right when they opened and was there for a grand total of about 15 minutes and it was fixed! Now granted this was a simple problem but the speed and courtesy was still very impressive. I won’t even tell you how much he charged me – I’m pretty sure it was just the cost of the bulb. Ridiculously cheap! Amazing. I’d never been there before and they treated me as if I’d been a long-​time, valued customer. The whole experience was awesome!

Great service! I called Dave at 1:30 pm on a weekday because I had a check engine light. Dave told me I could bring it in and he’d look at it that afternoon. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Dave’s team checked the code, told me what it was and that it wasn’t urgent, cleared the code and sent me on my way. No charge! Very friendly and professional service. Five stars!

My Better Half has praised Dave Frost Automotive ever since she made the Unilocal!discovery, and Dave’s initial inspection saved us from an engine disaster in-​the-​making.
I finally got out of my dealership maintenance shylock, and last week joined the legions of loyal and satisfied Dave Frost Automotive customers.
Dave and his team’s «problem» is their honesty: they’re simply not able to do work that you don’t need, and will tell you the Ifs and Thens about every maintenance option (including an estimate that was accurate to the penny) BEFORE they do it.

In Los Angeles, a good mechanic is as important as a good doctor. Well, the good car doctor is in and will diagnose and fix your troubles in straight-​forward fashion. Not only that, he’s a paramedic that will stop the bleeding right away!
Dave has been working on my 1996 Toyota truck since shortly after I bought it (well used) in 2004. He has performed all the maintenance and repairs to the point where it feels like it could run forever. I recently purchased a used 1997 convertible and I have the same level of confidence. Read all the other glowing reviews and know one thing… they are true!
It’s a small shop that feels small-​town but is definitely big on service.
I can only add my voice to the chorus, and hope it will convince you to bring your vehicle to Dave’s.
