Ed Little Auto Service

Have done scheduled maintenance several times and so far satisfied with the service. Very professional and to the point. The price is good and they don’t overestimate the labor and don’t make to change stuff if it is not needed to be replaced.

I was referred here by a friend getting extensive work done on her vehicle. She told me this shop was the friendliest, most reasonably priced garage she’s ever taken her car to and I have to agree. They diagnosed my problem (car was out of oil causing scary noises) and fixed it (add more oil, obv). I asked how much I owed them and the response was, «Nothing! Come back when you need something done and we’ll take care of you.» Service with a smile at 7 am. I will absolutely be back.

The best, most reasonably priced, most trust worthy auto mechanic I have ever encountered. Highly recommended.

I got my oil changed at someplace else and I was told that I need a transmission and brake fluid flush. I called a few places for a second opinion and Ed Little Auto Service answered the phone within my first try. Other places wouldn’t pick up the phone. Anyway, the man with whom I spoke was very nice and told me that he will look at my car the next morning.
I took my car in the next morning and Dennis helped me. He was professional and simply amazing. He immediately looked at my car and explained things to me very clearly, which I appreciated because I don’t know much about cars. It turned out that Toyota doesn’t recommend a transmission fluid flush on my car and it said so on the transmission cap! He did a strip test for my brake fluid and showed me the color of the strip along with a color chart for brake fluid and I didn’t need a brake fluid flush either. He was very nice and I greatly appreciated his time and honesty.
From now on I will go to Ed Little Auto Service.

This place is great! They are honest and I trust them completely. My previous mechanic would charge me a lot more and «fix» more things than necessary. My son brought in his beater that was way (and I mean wayyyy) past the mileage maintenance date and the Ed Little mechanic said it only needed an oil and filter change. I would recommend them to anyone.

This was my 2^nd time here. A friend recommended this place and said he has been coming here for years… Great service, clear explanations and fast!

All I can say is the reviews here are spot on. My rear tail light went out on my car. The dealer wanted to charge me $ 65 just for the labor and another $ 15 for a bulb. Outrageous, it’s amazing what the dealer can get away with. It was Hooman Chevrolet in culver city BTW.
So I opted to go to autozone and purchase the bulb needed. $ 5.99 lol after looking on Unilocal I gave this mechanic a call and asked if I could stop in and have them replace the bulb for me. Most mechanics would have you wait for hours if they would even consider doing it. Not these guys. They told me no problem and said I could come right in.
I stopped by, within 5 minutes, the bulb was changed and they even said «no charge «really? In this day in age? Of course I gave a tip because they are awesome.
So if you want an honest mechanic who will treat you fair look no further.
Update***
This is really THE MOST HONEST mechanic I have ever met.
I was told by another mechanic I needed new brake pads. I called and made an appointment with Ed as he is the best. I dropped my car off and went on with my day.
Now any other mechanic would just replace the pads and charge you $ 200 not these guys
I get a call about an hour later and they tell me that my pads have another 3 – 4,000 miles left on then and I should wait as they are still fine and safe.
Wow really? I literally told my wife these guys are almost too honest lol
A true rarity in the mechanic field
This is the place to take your car for any of your needs. Simply amazing.

Put simply. These guys are great. They take appointments for the morning, and if you call by 2pm on most days, they will tell you if they can squeeze you in. They are worth the effort to use during the work week versus the national oil change places that don’t really care about your car or push tons of extra service/​products.
Old school car maintenance. No fluffy customer service, just knowledgeable car guys, reasonable prices and great quality.
There is a nice coffee shop down the street with free wifi and snacks. Ed Little with BOb running the joint is my top choice for car maintenace on my Ford Focus and Honda CRV.

One of the most honest mechanics you will ever meet. My check engine light was on. They ran the diagnostic check for free. Told me exactly what the issue was. Said my car was running «lean». I never heard that before and asked him explain the issue and he did. Didn’t try to sell me extra services, explained it was not an emergency and set an appointment for me to bring my car in next week so he can check under the hood to see exactly what needed to be fixed.
When I returned with my car a few days later, they kept my car for about 5 hours to check my engine. Got a call that my car had a tear in the air pump. The part had to be ordered though but I could pick up my car and bring it back when the part arrived. By the way no charge to keep my car for the day.
Two days later got a call the part came in. Quoted me $ 60 for the part $ 28 for labor since it would only take 20 minutes to change.
I would recommend the mechanic to anyone and everyone.

I had a good feeling from the initial phone call/​scheduling an appointment, and had high hopes because of all of the Unilocal reviews. I was looking for a place to do my 30k service and not spend an arm and a leg. Nissan would have done everything on the list regardless of whether or not I really needed it, and it would’ve run me $ 400-​$ 500+ at the dealership.
When I dropped my car off, Bob was already hustling and very busy, but he immediately welcomed me and checked me in. He took his time asking me about the car. I took a Lyft to work and a few hours later he gave me a call.
He was so kind as to do some googling to look up a unique problem I had with my car (loud wind noise). He gave me some no-​nonsense suggestions that would cost me nothing so that I can narrow down the problem, and also told me that I only needed a few things done that fell within the 30k service.
What a great, honest, and trustworthy mechanic. I was thrilled to let my co-​workers know and I will be going here for as long as I am living in the area, referring anyone I can.
Because I only needed a couple of filters and an oil change, the 30k service only ran me around $ 130. Obviously it all depends on your car year, make, model, and what work is recommended, so don’t expect the same price. I dropped my car off around 9:30 and it was ready just after noon. Great place. Unilocal actually steered me right this time.
On a final note, Bob let me know his father opened the business in ’58. Ya, it’s that kind of place!

Excellent service! Not only was everyone friendly and professional, they clearly rely on repeat customers and good reviews to make money, rather than ripping people off for repairs they don’t need.
I came in for a check engine light, and was given a quick diagnostic test and since it turned out I just needed a gas tank cap they didn’t charge me for the test. They suggested I buy one over at Pepp Boys and it ended up costing me nothing at Ed’s and less than $ 10 at Pepp Boys.
Later I came back for routine maintenance and paid a very fair price.

My 2001 Jeep was overdue for its 90,000, an oil change, the coolant was low and brakes were squealing. To say that I was worried about what this would cost me would be an understatement.
8:30am: Pull up to the shop and greeted immediately upon exiting my vehicle. Exchanged my laundry list of needs and was told that I’d need to leave it until late afternoon. «Can do, sir.»
3:00pm: A most cordially phone call from Bob had me completely relieved. I found the staff at Ed’s to be total straight shooters. Maybe blind luck, but I came out unscathed with charges only for my oil change. Everything else checked out, and I had nothing to worry about.
No up sell, no bullshit. They’ll be getting more of my business and referrals!

Super cool place! My car was misfiring like crazy because of a bolt that i broke. So I called these guys and they told me they would try and help me out. I drove over there and Denis ended up taking out the bolt and giving me a new one for free! It was a easy job but still other shops were trying to charge me $ 100+
If anything is wrong with your car just give these guys a call and see what they can do for you.

I had my car towed over to this shop Saturday night. They were very friendly and attentive to my concerns. Even without an appointment, they took my car in Monday morning and it was ready by 3pm the same day. They repaired and replaced parts that were necessary and even checked up on some other issues I was concerned about. Prices were very fair and they didn’t push the sales scheme on you. It is a nice little shop to have in Culver City and within walking distance from my house.

Ed little is great, honest, reliable and nice. Pretty much everything you need in a good mechanic.
As an example, we had a very bizarre engine-​start problem on a honda. The engine wouldn’t start whenever it was hot outside. Ed Little’s team kept the car for weeks in order to reproduce the problem. Turned out there was a short that only triggered when the car sat in the heat. He didn’t charge me for the extra troubleshooting. I was impressed by the commitment.

Ed Little has been fantastic looking after our jeep and minivan. We just moved state… So cannot go here for future car repairs/​services.
I have been having service and oil changes here since around early 2010 or so… Always reasonable and never have to worry that I am being taken for more than is needed with repairs or service. And always get great service and care.
I have had issues with a crank shift sensor on my jeep before — All fixed well with peace of mind. They told me they were almost certain the issue was the crank sensor (it was) but if not, they would credit part to labor of any other issue if it was not that — fantastic!
Had a radiator and an alternator replaced for a very reasonable amount and very quickly.
The Honda dealership told me my minivan needed new engine mounts on asap. Took it into Ed Little and they checked them during service and told me that they were worn but had around 15 – 20,000 miles before needing to be replaced. They literally saved me well over a thousand dollars right there.
Any issues I have had that could not be fixed at their shop was met with great recommendations. Had good experiences with autobody shop recommendation, as well as tires.
You really cannot go wrong.

Did some research on Unilocal to find a mechanic to fix a strange vibration coming from the back of my car. Based on the reviews, I called up Ed Little Auto Service and was told to come to the shop in the afternoon on the same day.
Once there, Bob was able to figure out the source of the problem after a short test drive and fixed it super fast using a couple of rubber pipes. Voila !!! Problem solved. After all this, I was NOT even charged for fixing the issue since Bob told me it was very simple fix.
The overall service was simply outstanding! Will definitely come back here when required.

They worked on my Lexus GX 470 and the work and communications was excellent.
They changed the oil, recharge the coolant, checked on the Timing Belt, change the brake pads front and back, and replaced the front rotors.
Seems very honest, and prices seemed reasonable and appropriate.
I had an appointment. Appointment was a few weeks off from when I called, but that is expected for a highly rated auto mechanic.
I will definitely use this service again.

GREAT SERVICE
My original car battery died moons ago and roadside assistance replaces it with a battery with a lot of electrolytes but with corrosion and was told its temporary until I buy a new battery. Moons later, I decide to buy a new battery for my car, «Jaba mobile». Drove up without an appointment with the paragraph above and Bob still went to check and test the battery. Even thought I knew the status of the battery it was nice of him to check for himself to see if I really did need a new battery. He hooked up the machine to test the battery’s electrolyte levels and said they were good and explained further to me about the corrosion and what it means — it means the battery is leaking. I appreciate the bits of education… It was helpful to understand and know these things. Interstate batter replacement for my make and model was $ 147!!! 15 minutes later I was on my merry way.
Great customer service brings back customers. I have other car work to be done and will in the future come here for service.

I’ve been taking may car here for 3 years now for little and big issues and these guys are just the best.
They’ve always taken care of me, you can’t beat their prices, and they keep a full service record for you. Anytime someone says they need a mechanic I always refer them here.

Disclaimer: the catch is that Ed Little’s is only open on weekdays from 7am — 5pm. Everyone deserves time-​off, but it’s hard to find a good local mechanic. I’d have absolutely no problem recommending this shop!
Located at almost the corner of Sepulveda and Culver, you might pass this place without ever looking. And you probably would unless you’re looking.
This was my first time at this shop as I’ve done most of my work at the dealer. Being sick of the crazy $$$$ prices, I got a quote from Ed Little Auto for 75% off of what the dealer quoted. (Honda/​Acura B14 service, which includes new spark plugs, oil change and various inspections, for those that care,).
It was a no brainer! I saved over $ 600 in the process and peace of mind!
