History

Established in 1969.

The Law Office was initially engaged in the general practice of law until Atty. Durand Cook got into the field of adoption quite by accident, when two of his former college classmates simultaneously asked him to assist them in finding newborn infants to adopt. By the time Atty. Cook researched the field and found birth mothers for each couple, they had already adopted children, leaving him with the opportunity to serve the birth mothers’ needs by finding appropriate adoptive families for their unborn children.

As the years progressed, Atty. Cook refined his unique and effective method by allowing mutual commitment to form between the Adoptive Parents and the Birth Parents, which has allowed him to serve everyone’s needs most effectively.

Business Owner

Atty. D. Durand has limited his practice to crisis pregnancy resolution through adoption and family formation over the last 25+ years. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the Loma Linda University, La Sierra Campus in Riverside, California, and his Juris Doctor degree at Cal-​Western University of San Diego, California. He had the privilege of co-​founding the Academy of California Adoption Lawyers (ACAL) and the Academy of Adoption Attorneys of America (AAAA). For the last 20 years of his 30+ years of practice, Durand has also represented donors and surrogate mothers in hundreds of surrogacy and egg donation arrangements, as well as embryo and sperm donation contracts.
