This truck is brand new and they do a great job of enticing you with a window of golden sourdough bread bowls(+$ 3). Soups are all $ 6 and sound very appealing. I ordered the 5 Onion French Soup, which they describe as a «twist» on the classic. If by twist you mean there’s no bread or cheese or richness, then they nailed it. I suppose these folks need time to get their act in order(they’re using an iPhone to run credit cards inside a metal enclosed truck… surprise, surprise, that doesn’t work out well) but if you’re going to open a soup truck, make sure the recipes are good BEFORE you start. I’ve had better French Onion soup out of a Campbell’s can. For $ 6 you get a lot of onions and broth. That’s it. And the broth has no seasoning other than a strange bitterness, which I have to assume is coming from one or more of the five onions. Normally, I wait until I’ve tried a place twice before giving a negative review but considering all they do is soup and the soup was absolutely horrible, I’m making an exception.
