I had a positive experience. After a major accident, my car was totaled and I was not able to find my keys inside my vehicle. After looking for it not finding it, and once again calling back late at night to come back again and search for it. Shawn was very patient and was supportive during this time of my need. I recommend there services.

I have the same thing to say as everyone else: Stay away, and Shawn is a complete idiot. He swore at me three times when I tried to give them some business. We used to use them frequently for all of our private lots. After a lot of horrible service and usually waiting for hours when we called, this was the last straw. We just pulled down all of their signs at all of our properties. IT’S SO EASY TO CALL SOMEONE ELSE. Please do. You will thank me later.

Agree 110% with the bad reviews. The office staff are imbeciles… the «simple-​minded» type.

If you like getting barked at by pit bulls the entire time you’re there, then this is definitely the place to get towed. Makes a fun experience even more delightful.

Terrible customer service. Just got off the phone with them. Really poor attitude. Didn’t want to help me. Just asking a few questions.

These people are out of their minds! I called them and scheduled a tow truck. I called them after they were an hour late. They gave me an attitude and canceled my tow truck. They left me stranded because they said I was «talking mess» when I called to complain about them being over an hour late. It’s absolute insanity! Who does business like that???
Bottom line DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!

They say $ 163 per hour FROM THE TIME THEY ARE DISPATCHED! It took them 20 mins to arrive & then a 40 min ride to drop off site… that’s about 1 hr. When it was time to drop the car, the bill was $ 271!!!
The tow guy & Charlene in the office CANNOT even explain how they arrived at that total! We had a flight to catch & they took advantage of our circumstance. Had to pay it so we could make it to LAX in time.
Vincent the tow man was nice. He is not the problem. Reading other reviews, I can see why the 1(mandatory) star rating.

My car battery was dead this morning. A driver named Joe came out to jump start it, and eventually had to tow the car for me to our repair shop. Joe was very nice, extremely professional and made a difficult situation much tolerable to deal with. I took a business card and would definitely use SouthSide tow again in the future.

The company for which I work for share a private parking lot with two or three more tenants. Parking is located in the rear part of the building. Needless to say the parking spots ARE numbered. This tenant obviously made a call to get my car towed because she thought our parking spot belonged to her! The driver did not care to confirm if the parking spot did in fact belonged to her. When I pointed out that the spots are numbered, he told me to take the matter to the person who placed the call (which I did). But my car was already hooked, not even lifted. The driver didnt care whether the call made to them was valid. He just wanted to get paid. Being that I was driving my sister’s car, I went ahead and paid the $ 90.00 for him to release the vehicle. Mind you, as soon as I went to talk to thus tenant whi made the call he rushed it to move my vehicle from where it was giving me no choice but to pay.
It is ridculous how these people do not care about anything but to collect the money. I was parked in my right given spot that was marked and he cared not to confirm only to collect. Needlees to say my boss called their office to explained to them that the driver did not confirm if the call was valid and that I was parked on a spot that belongs to him, and was given the worst custimer service ever. He spoke to a male named shawn whi didnt give two fucks if the spot belong to us or not and after several times of him telling him that he should stop by and cinfirm the facts he rudely hung up. What kind of service us that.
I have file a police report as well as a BBB complaint. I will be also disputing my charge. Thus tow company is corrupt!

First off, this place does not even deserve 1 star. However I have no choice because this is the least possible. It deserves negative points!
DON’T even consider getting your car towed to this place. Don’t even give it a second thought or chance. COMPLETELY SHADY lot. They do not give you the right information when towing your car. They tell you it’s free and when you are to drive your car out the lot, they tell you there’s a fee.
I got into an accident on the 10 west where it splits to 405. The lady who came to tow my car told me it would be the cheapest way to go since it would not cost me to get my car towed to the lot. When my car got there, she took my key and I got picked up. So I asked for the key back to drive it off the lot. They gave me the key and as we were about to drive off, a heavy man stepped out of the shady office and said it would cost me $ 163 to get it out of the lot. He even lied to me saying he had a recording of the lady who towed my car, telling me it would cost me. DISHONEST. The lady said it was free.
Whatever you do, do not use this company trust your fellow Unilocalers. You will thank us! If ever you have no choice and end up there … Good luck and may God be on your side.

Was in an accident, and he told me I could get my babies stuff from my car whenever.
The problem — on Saturday I called to pick up the items from my car and the lady said they were closed for anyone to pick something up. She told me they had my car, and to come Monday morning.
Monday morning — I drove to pick up the items from my car, and the guy said my car was moved to a completely different location on Friday.
The lady was too lazy to correctly check the notes in the computer system to see that my car had already been moved when I called
When I asked the guy why I was given this false information, didn’t even answer me, and could’ve cared less. Absolutely no apology was given, that would’ve been actual customer service… Which I guess doesn’t happen here.
The officer who helped with my accident said southside towing was great, and handles most of their work. You might want to rethink that one!

southside was the tow service sent by my roadside assistance program. while waiting for them to come change a flat, I read the reviews. I was not expecting much, but the tow truck driver was courteous, cheerful and knowledgable about my car and access to the spare. I was impressed and the service was first class. thank you southside for helping my family and I get home safely.

These people were so extremely rude. I will be calling my insurance company to let them know to avoid these people like the plague. The lady that answers the phone has no customer service skills and is extremely abusive to customers. I would give zero stars if possible. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

This is the most useless towing company ever!!! First, they hung up on me while i was doing my ‘calm’ rant, then they apparently dont tow cars that isn’t yours! I have a lot of stories to tell but, oh Goodness! I think i will stroke out of anger if i further elaborate it here. The point is THEY SUCK!!!

First of all, it’s really a shame that Unilocal requires users to give a business a minimum of 1 star. C’mon, Unilocal!
These guys claim to take pride in their service. Really? I don’t consider being rude and telling someone to F**K off very good customer service, especially if you’re in possession of my car and want your money.
Their billing cycle is ridiculous. ¹⁄₈^th of a day counts as a full day? Maybe at a sleazy motel, which is probably where a lot of these guys spend their free time. Also, when an insurance company calls you, it usually means they cover towing. You’re supposed to bill the insurance company, not the shop you’re towing it to or the owner of the car. They asked the body shop for $ 400+ to release the car. WTF???
I will be filing a report against this shop and contacting the BBB. Their methods of operation aren’t ethical (yes, I said ethical even though this is a towing company). I was a victim of an accident, yet they treated me like they repo’d my car.

Even though my car ended up here because it was CHP ordered, I care nonetheless. I had a great experience with Southside Tow, very professional and respectful staff. The arresting officer would not allow me to get any of my important papers out of the glove box before my ’87 Mercedes was taken and since I had purchased the car through Craigslist and had not switched over the title to my name at the DMV I was in a very nasty situation. Dealing with previous towing companies throughout Los Angeles I already knew my car and my personal items were gone FOREVERRR since I would need the current, legal registered owner to accompany me. I bought it from some guy for $ 1,000 bucks in Hollywood and never heard from him again. To make matters worse the address on the registration is an old and some place in Riverside! I thought I was screwed for sure. Southside Tow did explain over the phone that I would be unable to get any of my things out of the vehicle– INCLUDING THE TITLE THAT I DID SIGN– without the «owner’s» consent. But after my boyfriend and I made a short trip to their main office in Culver City and explained to them the bind I was in, the man at the front chuckled and said «No problem!» While he went to grab what I needed to take to the DMV and get the process of releasing my car started, I pet and played with two of their absolutely adorable guard Pitbulls while my bf talked to the towing guys sitting out front. Very laid back people working for a very expensive and unfortunate business for their customers but hey, who like getting their car towed… NO ONE.

I needed to have my car stored for 3 days– when I brought it in, I spoke to the guy (bald guy with tatoos who lacks customer service and social skills) at the window and told him that. He asked me when I was going to pick it up, I said, «well, it needs to be here for three days– so Saturday to Sunday is one, Sunday to Monday is two, and Monday to Tuesday is three». He said, «yeah ok». When I came to pick up my car they were charging me for 4 days– when I asked Sharlene (who is at least very nice) why I was being charged for 4 days instead of 3, she said that it was because they go by calendar days, and after she spoke with the guy who I dealt with in the beginning, he said I needed to pay for the 4 days– So he obviously lied to me in order to charge me for one extra day… Just for that, I will never deal with these people again. Do so at your own risk.

Don’t ever deal with these people. They are bitter and miserable I was parked in a plaza and apparently each shop you go in they want you to move your car each time. The unhappy red head attempting to tow my car said can you read? It’s not necessary to insult someone especially in a tiny parking lots 5 other business’s are sharing. Clearly she cannot read otherwise she would have a career and not just a menial job. If you ever need a tow company avoid southside. They are indeed the dregs of society and have no idea what customer service means.
