Wags 2 Whiskers

So much love here. My dog loves the place and they love my dog! The only thing I don’t like about Wags and Whiskers, is my dog is always bummed to see me when I come to pick him up.

Robert and their crew are awesome. Very friendly place that I guarantee your dog will love!
I got an indication of this place from my colleague as I was looking for a place to let my dog Mathias play with other guys and socialize a little bit.
Mathias is a mixed dog that we got from a shelter in Brazil and moved with us to the US 2 years ago. He is reeeeeeeeally shy and Robert knew how to tackle that from day 1 being very patient to earn his trust. Robert was also stunning when grooming him as it’s very hard to get Mathias to stay calm while touching his legs and belly.
After a few visits, as soon as Mathias realized he was about to be dropped off at the day care, he’d get VERY excited. That made me feel very safe to let him for a few days on a weekend that we needed.
As we moved up to the bay area a few months ago we still didn’t find a place as nearly good as Wags 2 Whiskers. I wish they’d opened another Wags 2 Whiskers here in the bay area, hehe

This used to be our go to place for our maltipoo. However, after trying out a few new places I feel like I must have been blinded for my wanting to love Wags 2 Whiskers and gave them a free pass constantly nicking my dog (I mean a lot) because the staff is so friendly, it’s near by and he loved going there. But after trying different places and our dog not having one cut on him it has made me question Wags to Whiskers. They do an ok job with cutting and bathing however the last few times we took the dog there his legs were uneven and he had so many nicks, which is disappointing because the staff really is the nicest. Once they become more consistent I can update.

Our dog Jerry has been coming here 5 years for daycare, grooming, and now boarding. Carolina and Robert are caring and accommodating to Jerry. He has a lot of anxiety, and I trust leaving him with them because they know him so well. Love love love them!

Yes as good as it gets. After constantly using 3 Doggy Daycare’s over the last 15 years in West LA/​Studio City, I’m educated and opinionated about it!
My dog Ponka is untrusting of people she likes to get used to them slowly and does not like to be pressured. She does not like dogs who play rough and are high energy or illiterate in doggy manners and communication. She’s been socialized constantly and is doing great, but after only one intro conversation, Robert and Diana just were so talented at listening to the dogs. Being reactive to their unique insecurity with just the right timing and grounded energy.
My dog Chinle is scared of loud noises, things that fall, and open spaces. This is the perfect place for him too, every room is highly monitored and not too large. After the first day, I picked them up and they were relaxed, and that’s not easy to achieve with new people or new places without Mom or Dad there to tell them «we’re safe, settle». I was surprised to find that both dogs were so well behaved they even went out for a walk! Ponka has been know to be «barn-​shy» and suddenly rear up shaking her head and taking off toward home out of sheer panic. Chinle had anxiety that is being managed and practice, it has occurred with high energy zippy dogs, dogs I’m told he says «cut it out, calm down» so he had tried to squish them. And its almost always a ~12 month old teenager dog. He’ll whine when he’s in a ‘leave it’. But reports from Wags 2 Whiskers is that he’s never been even triggered. And both dogs have been playing with dogs which they only ever do in private when they feel safe, so that’s a testament to how good these folks are with dogs, an innate skill you can only be born with and not many people have it because it has to be egoless.

I was looking for a boarding place that wasn’t too big. I used to go to Doggie Central but it had too many dogs there and my little guy hated it. After talking to Robert (owner), I made an appointment to check out the place. I brought my furbaby to visit and to register an account. After talking with them, I felt comfortable with their care and full service operations.
The people that work there really care about dogs and recognize my furbaby by name very quickly. They listen to my concerns and make sure that he’s comfortable and happy. It’s my go-​to place when I need to board him for a day or overnight. Their prices are reasonable and you can buy in bulk to save some money.
I’m a fan of this place but it didn’t get 5 stars due to limited parking and signage. They could post larger signage. This would help new customers find them and maybe attract more business.

My dog sookie had her first visit with groomer at wags 2 whiskers yesterday. We were definitely not disappointed. I didn’t get a chance to meet the groomer since my BF was the one to drop and pick her up. But she looks and smells great! Her haircut is exactly what we wanted and they even provided a cute festive bandana.
I’m relatively new to culver city so finding a groomer that is close by and affordable is a life saver. My dog is a little skittish when she’s at the groomers but they managed to have great control with her. Very professional, I will definitely be back.

My dog and I love it here! I bring my schnoodle for daycare 3x a week and they are my go to groomers now too. We are always welcomed with a smile and greeted by name. The team seems to really know my dog and will spend extra time if I ever have any concerns. I have heard them listen very attentively and sincerely to dog parents that are way more helicoptery than I am, lol. Love them, highly recommend!

They are always great with my dog. He loves being there and the way all of them treat him. I lo ve them too. They are responsible, clean and very dedicated with all the dogs.

I am very happy with Wags 2 Whiskers! I’ve tried taking my small dog (about 15 lbs) to other groomers and they could never manage to cut her hair. My dog is a rescue (history unknown) and is super friendly but gets nervous at the groomers so she does need some extra TLC. I took her to California Groomin’ and they recommended I get a sedative from the vet in order to groom my dog. I couldn’t believe that Cocoa was that difficult so I paid extra cash and had the vet groom her. They told me she was a little nervous but fine. A neighbor told me about Wags 2 Whiskers after her dog was also deemed too difficult at California Groomin’. So I decided to give them a chance and they totally did not disappoint. I gave them advanced warning that although my dog was super friendly, she did get nervous when it came to cutting her hair. Robert and his team welcomed my dog with treats and lots of TLC. I got a call to pick her up a few hours later and Cocoa looked great! I asked if my dog gave them a hard time and they said not at all. They repeated what the vet told me. Cocoa was a little nervous but did great. I am relieved to have finally found a groomer that knows how to handle dogs like Cocoa. My only reservation is their cost. $ 55 for a bath and haircut so I won’t visit them as often as I would like to but will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

I love them ! They are loving, attentive and caring. My dog is always so excited to go there. They have given him special gifts for his birthdays, cute bandanas and lots of love!

I absolutely love this place! Ive been to so many groomers in Culver city and ive had issues with all of them. Jax smells amazing and his hair is cut perfect staff is friendly

Traveling from San francisco and needed to board my pup. These guys were great. They were very professional and seemed to love their work. This was very reassuring for us as it was our first time leaving our pup. Great job!

You know those people who probably take better care of your dog than you do?
Well, I didn’t know them either until I met Robert and Carolina at Wags 2 Whiskers. I’ve brought my dog to them before and knew that it was a good decision already when Robert told me over the phone «Bring a blanket or something familiar for Kona so she feels more comfortable while you are away.» When I picked her up she basically came and licked my face but then was sort of just hanging out like she didn’t care whether or not we went home! They also gave her a bath for me and didn’t charge me in the grand total.
This last weekend I left Kona in their care again, knowing she would be more comfortable in the care of Robert and Carolina and that she would have fun playing with the other dogs as she loves to socialize.
There was an incident that happened which they called and let me know immediately, where Kona had startled another dog while it was sleeping and the dog lashed out and bit her behind the ear. The other dog and Kona had been playing previously too so I know it was just an accident. They said they could tell the other dog felt really bad afterwards and that it just lashed out from being startled awake. She had also thrown up multiple times before and after the incident, which they called and let me know about as well, asking what I might know what it could be from.
I was on a plane all day so I didn’t get the messages until I landed in the evening, but Robert had already cleaned the wound and taken her to the vet to replenish her fluids via IV, check the wound (2 VERY small scratches and a puncture behind her ear that never bled), and to check what may have been making Kona vomit. Not only did they not waste any time taking her to the vet to ensure the well being of our dog, but they also took her SPECIFICALLY to our vet to have Kona treated where they know her and where she would feel comfortable.
On top of all of this, upon picking her up, they insisted that their job was to make sure Kona was taken care of so and her well being was ensured, so they wouldn’t let us pay for our dog’s 4 day stay with them. I am so glad to have left my dog with people who know animals and understand them to be able to give them the best care and put the animals well being before anything. If you want your dog to have a SAFE stay and also ENJOY themselves while you are away, bring them to Wags 2 Whiskers. Thank you Carolina and Robert!

Dropped my two loves, Toby and Shelby, off for grooming. They were done on time, which I know is no small feat for my two wiggle worms. Their summer haircuts were very cute and well done. I’m looking forward to trying them for boarding.

No kennel cough this time. Just got a really pooped out doggy! (Seriously, she’s been an angel all day the following day.) Again, very friendly staff. Amazing prices. Puppy smelled awesome after the bath for a whole week.

I have been meaning to write a review for this place, and now that I am leaving LA, I figured I would make sure I do this before I go. I am so sad that I will have to find a new place to take my dog in my new city… because Wags 2 Whiskers was the only place that my dog was comfortable being left.
My dog has pretty bad separation anxiety, but the people at wags (especially Robert) are really patient and loving with him. They are also really tolerant of me calling (probably more often than they wanted) to check in.
They stay with the dogs ²⁴⁄₇ and there is a small room where your pup can spend the first night with the handlers in case he is having trouble adjusting. When my dog gets super dirty from playtime, they have sometimes even given him a bath, free of charge, because they are just that sweet and caring.
I highly recommend this place and they are so so awesome. I am totally bummed I am moving to San Francisco and will have to find something that compares.

I don’t even know where to begin… so lets just start with THEY ARE DOG WHISPER’S!
My little Cody is afraid of EVERYTHING. His shadow probably makes him jump. We adopted him at 4 weeks old now he is 9 months old and honestly he has no reason to be so frigid. He was not tortured or abused in any way and as a lil pup he was loving and quiet to everyone. Now he is only loving and quiet at home with those he is familiar with, family and close friends.
He looked crazy, I should have taken a picture of him looking Crazy but the attached is The After pic. Before his hair was wayyy too long, nails too long, and he smelled like, well… wet dog, he looked like a miniture wolf, you get the picture. I was certain I would not find anyone to bathe, cut his hair and nails for under $ 85 because he is SO ANXIOUS it would at least take 5 ppl to hold him still because Cody would be certain of one thing… these people are trying to cut him up and feed him to the dinosaurs outside. It cost No where near $ 85.
I muzzled him in the car because he was barking at everyone walking by, then I took him inside Wags 2 Whiskers. We met Robert, kind eyes and warm. Very soft spoken with a friendly face. I told him about my scary lil pup and at this time Cody is between pulling me back to the door, and hiding between my legs. Robert gets a treat and tells me to take off the muzzle. He squats down to Cody’s level and offers the treat and a chance for Cody to smell him and get familiar. I sit for a bit just to make sure Cody doesn’t bolt for the door and surprisingly he is sitting between me and Robert and letting Robert pet him. I leave and watch Cody scramble to try to leave with me but there is no barking. Robert calms him and reassures me my pup will be fine.
I fully expected a call back to tell me to come get him because he was too much trouble, or I expected only half the work to be done because he wouldn’t stay still. OR get a call at the end of the day because it took all day just to take care of the 3 items needed. But to my surprise I received a call in 1.5 hours to tell me he was completely ready. I asked how was he and to my surprise I heard words I never heard before about Cody… He is a good boy, and he’s ready to go, he did just fine.
I drove back to pick him up and found the happiest, tail wagging, jumping 5 ft in the air soft, clean adorable puppy in absolute NO distress and happy to see me. It was like I picked up someone else’s dog. We will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Cody has found his home away from home and I live in a pet friendly bldg. I am telling EVERYONE I SEE walking a dog about Wags 2 Whiskers. Robert and his sweet assistant Carolina (I think) are amazing with dogs. She was just as warm and friendly as Robert and I was shocked to see that Cody didn’t bark at her either. I just can’t say enough about the amazing service here. Thank you Wags 2 Whiskers for a stress free tail wagging experience, We will be back!

The best place in LA to leave your friend during the day and also if you’re out of town. They’re always willing to help you and they treat your friend as their own. They have different spaces for small and large dogs and for cats so everybody plays with buddies of their own size. I have a German Shepherd and he gets really excited every time he goes to play!

I boarded my 2 dogs over Thanksgiving break. The morning I was supposed to pick up my babies I received a phone call that my dog «didn’t wake up this morning». that. «she was old». that. «when we went to feed all the dogs this morning she didn’t get up and we tried to resuscitate but she had been gone for a while».
Really? how long were the dogs unattended?!
Fact: Yes, my dog was 10 years old but her breed life expectancy is 15 years. She had been to the vet the week prior and got a clear bill of health. She had no existing health conditions and had the energy of a puppy.
To make matters worse, I was charged the FULL amount for both of my dogs stay. (I eventually fought the charge for my dog that didn’t return home with my credit card company and wags 2 whiskers didn’t object thank goodness)
Heart breaking story short — I dropped off 2 healthy dogs and only returned home with 1. I fear that something happened to my baby during the night and was left unattended for so long it was too late…
