History
Established in 2003.
Partners Tom Acton and Shelley Miller own Get Out & Play Outfitters. Collectively their experience includes nearly 30 years service with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. The last four years of their service with DNR were completely dedicated to the creation and implementation of the Nature Tourism program. They have been instrumental in designing the structure of the program, working with private guides and outfitters in developing cooperative partnerships and working with the public in creating packages for adventure vacations. The business was opened in May 2003 as Western Maryland Adventures a one-stop shop for guests looking to «Get Outside & Play!» After 10 years the business out grew it’s name linking it to only Western Maryland. It is now Get Out & Play! Outfitters serving Maryland, South Central Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia and West Virginia.
