We are a seasoned crew of garden center professionals in a brand new facility in beautiful Cumberland, RI, featuring two 2700sq. ft. greenhouses and acres of outdoor display gardens. We are open year round.
I love gardening and have recently put a large perennial garden in the front of my home, so I was excited to learn that a new garden center was going to be opening right up the street from my house. I have been here twice this Spring and was impressed by the variety of plants(both perennials and annuals). They had some unique varieties that you can’t find just anywhere. I bought 3 perennials, 2 lavender and 1 Heuchera, which have been in the ground for a few weeks now and appear to be doing well. I also picked up some annuals that are doing really well and a dogwood tree. My only complaint is that both times I shopped here, there is one woman who works here that doesn’t seem very friendly. The first time, she just seemed kind of in a bad mood or something at the register — Not smiling or talking much. She almost seemed annoyed that I was buying stuff from her or something! The second time, we were inquiring whether the tree we were buying had a warranty and she seemed annoyed that we were asking that and then got kind of mad at us when we tried to stand the tree up in our pick up to drive home instead of laying it down. But it was just because we thought that was the best way to transport it — a little friendly advice on why it’s better it travels laying down, would have been a much better approach vs. muttering under her breath that if we ride with it standing up that would pretty much void the warranty. A little friendliness and a smile goes a long way especially if you’ve just opened a new business. I’d like to go back here in the future, but that woman’s attitude just rubs me the wrong way.
