Auto Smog Test Only

Excellent. Super quick, super easy — in and out within 5 – 10 minutes. Called ahead twice and guy was perfectly polite despite my neurotic-​ness (that’s a word btw). For the quick smog check, definitely recommend.

Only place I get the smog testing done for my cars.
Effective, simply, best price, and the owner is a nice dude.

Called them on a Wednesday at 1 pm for a smog check; was told to bring in my car right away. Got there at 1:30 pm and the test was done by 1:38 pm. My car passed the test, but in case yours doesn’t, you get a free re-​test and a third one for $ 10. Paid $ 40 flat in cash. Fantastic service.

Beware if not. I brought in my friend’s 1995 Miata which had an aftermarket intake. The car passed all the emissions tests but failed a visual inspection because the business owner, Hai, saw that the air filter had been replaced with one that had not been registered. He failed it and said a retest would cost $ 10 (when I was pretty sure that it was advertised as free).
I did some research and found that it is in fact legal to have a modified air intake. Quoting from page two here:

«Air Cleaner /​Assembly — 1995 model-​year and older without Thermostatic Air
Cleaner. Changes are acceptable provided all required emission controls are
connected and appear functioning.»
I ended up getting passed at another, more knowledgeable, smog technician and returned to Hai to ask for a refund for the illegal fail. I pointed out the issue and he became rather defensive. You can get a sense of this defensiveness from his response to bad reviews on Unilocal.He told me to go through the BAR to file a complaint which I have done but I think this hassle could have been avoided if he just provided a refund and acknowledged the rule which he clearly did not know.
tldr; If you have a car that you don’t think will have any issues, this is still a good place to go. If you suspect any issues, this business owner is not a particularly good person to work with.

It took them only minutes to complete the test and get out there. Very friendly couple. Highly recommended!

There are two main things that matter for a smog check review: time and cost. This shop took less than ten minutes to get my car in and out, and cost $ 10-​$ 20 less than competitors in the area. Boom, five stars!
There is a $ 1 service fee for using a debit/​credit card so if you’re super-​DUPER cheap, make sure you bring cash. I was happy to save $ 20 so I didn’t mind the extra dollar.
The man and woman who work there (married couple) were very nice and didn’t steal my spare change (I test mechanics with that temptation), but that’s all secondary concerns. Bonus — if you have kids, bring ‘em and check out the cool fish in the tank by the cash register. Or if you don’t have kids but like fish — whatever, I’m not judging.

I was in and out in literally less than 15 minutes.
Can’t ask for any more than that.
It’s an extra $ 1 if you pay with credit card, but $ 41 for in and out that fast is fine by me.

In sept 2015 I had my smog test done here. I arrived at 8:30am and was done by 8:40am. The guy was quick, personable, and $ 10.00 cheaper than my husband paid at a different place.
I was so impressed by the guy (don’t know his name) that when my breaks needed fixing I did not go to the dealership but called him instead. A few weeks after he replaced by break pads and rotors, there were noises coming from underneath my car. I called him, he got me in the next day and fixed the problem with no hassle whatsoever. (It was faulty hardware).
I would recommend this place highly. This guy is honest, inexpensive and dependable. I will definitely use him again.

My 1996 car could not pass the smog tests (tried a couple of times) at other stations, but, passed the test here! Of course, after the failed tests, I did use fuel cleaner and warmed up the car for at least 20 minutes before the test.
Two years later, passed again! In the Cupertino area, this place charges the lowest price of the three that I used.

With my car in need of a smog test, I decided to try this place out as it is down the street from International Auto Clinic where I normally go for auto repair and maintenance needs. IAC doesn’t do smog tests, but I was told to come here and with all the great reviews I figured I couldn’t go wrong.
I called in advance in case they might be busy and scheduled an appointment for 2:30 pm. Upon my arrival, I was immediately greeted by a lady who collected my smog paperwork and gave me a short form to fill out.
After all the paperwork was taken care of, I waited in their small waiting room while they performed the smog test. Once it was finished, I was told my car passed and I was brought to the area where I could pay.
The grand total for both the smog test and the certificate? $ 40.00
The amount of time I spent there from my arrival to my departure after I paid?: 10 minutes
This is how it should be. Everywhere. 24÷7÷365.
If you’re close by and your car needs a smog test, schedule an appointment and bring your car here. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed in the slightest.

Lightning fast as other reviewers have written about. I gave myself a 30min buffer in case there was a line, but I was in and out in less than 10min, and I didn’t feel rushed at all!!!

Bad service!
Got my car there with check engine on without know it is default to be a fail.
Mechanic take the car and still did all smog check without even tell me that I need to fix CEL first!
Of course it fails the test even though all real smog checks passes. Got billed with unnecessary checks anyway :(.

I needed a smog and Unilocaled the closest and best rated places near me. This place came up #5 on the list.

(+) The guy who did the smog was friendly and pleasant.
(-) The girl rushed me so I felt like a dollar bill to her versus a customer, much less a human being
(-) The girl who processed my order had a bit of an attitude
If I am in a hurry I would consider coming here due to its proximity to my home, but if I was not in a hurry I would find a place that treated their customers like people, with respect & make you feel welcome and comfortable.
