when you spend more than a couple of million dollars on a home, and otherwise, it is not too much to expect for a real estate agent to offer proper advice when looking at properties. but that’s too much to ask for lynne olenak. she is mild mannered, teaches at santa clara university polite, quick and very knowledgeable, but will she share that knowledge with you when looking at houses and you need real advice she will not offer it if she feels that you are interested enough and will buy the house. i was practically begging her as i was confused why in this market when houses sell before they even reach the market why our home had not been selling, she would cleverly not offer it to me by just not saying anything and avoiding the subject. after moving in i realized a lot of things such as how much money it’s going to take to renovate the property and how the shabby the neighborhood is and how poorly the property is layed out. she also keeps stopping by and gives treat so that she is on your mind when it comes to referring her. all it takes is one casual mention and she makes a huge profit. and you know what it works because that is exactly how we were introduced to her. save the free treats lynne and let people remember you by the not so obvious advice that you choose not to share with clients.

This review is only for/​about Mei Ling. We dealt with her when we bought our house. She was the buyers agent. OMG, she’s a person with no soul or sympathy or any humanity. If you see her you may not think that’s she’s that way. Once you get to deal with her, it’s crazy. She will simply treat you like a piece of worm when you’re at her mercy and stomp on you. She keeps sending her brochures and ads to homes and we get it too. I can wait to shred each one of them individually and enjoy that moment. I personally save each one of them and shred them. Even if it takes 5 secs to shred it, we feel a joy of 5 hours. Yes Mei Ling. Keep sending them. It’s actually one of our stress reliefs. Even if you’ve reasonable contingencies, she will just treat you like you’re nothing. You’ll be so mad, you will even start to hate the owner who hired her to sell their house without even knowing them. Never. Owners, if you’ve some sense of soul and humanity in you, just don’t sell your house through this person. She’s the bay area version of coch brothers. When people move into a home they want to move in with happiness. And with her, she’ll make sure you won’t see any and only her commission. Anyway associating with ppl like this just for money surely will never gain any karma. You’ll only see people who’re extremely greedy and money hungry giving her 5 stars without understanding at what cost they get that blood money.

We absolutely loved her. She was professional and responsive. We had a horrible experience with Sunny Golamco — who did quite a few questionable shady things while trying to sell our home. We found Mei to take over the listing. In record time, she made the house look amazing and sold it within the week, over asking price. She made the process smooth and went above and beyond in doing small fixes to the land and assuring the property looked amazing! We really enjoyed Mei and highly recommend her!

She was nice enough on the phone and we exchanged a few emails prior to meeting but afterwards she never followed up. All other realtors wanted the opportunity and called right away then emailed why I should work with them. Some of them were more in demand than her and the least she could’ve done was email me a quick a thank you if she was too busy or whatever.

I couldn’t agree more with the other reviewers. Without a doubt, Mei Ling is the best real estate agent we have ever worked with. Mei is very dedicated, meticulous, hardworking, knowledgeable, smart, responsive!
Over the course of over 10 years, we had worked with a few different agents for the buying and selling of our homes. Each time, we always feel the other agents were somewhat lacking.
Mei represented us on both the buying and selling of our home. We couldn’t be happier!
On the selling side. We have heard and seen Mei Ling’s name for a long time as we lived near the Rivermark area. We knew that she’s the absolute top expert there. Mei and her team of experts worked super fast! From the time we pulled the trigger on selling our home, to our home being listed on the market, it took only seven days!
She told us what needs to be done in order to get the home ready for the market. Mei made sure that buyers feel this is the perfect home for them. We listened to her advice and she made all the necessary arrangements to get all the things done. These include replacing the carpet, painting, etc. All done with the highest quality and with the great efficiency.
The result, we received multiple offers and our home got sold for much higher than what we had thought possible! Simply amazing!
On the buying side, Mei helped greatly. Especially in this hyper competitive market, Mei was calm and thoughtful. Mei never once pushed us to go for homes or make offers that we didn’t feel comfortable. Mei never complained about the number of offers we had to make in the entire time working with us. Eventually, it was Mei’s reputation in the market that helped us secured our new home. The right agent DOES make a huge difference!

My story:
I bought a house, things changed, and I needed to sell the house. My buying agents for my first time were fine, but I wasn’t overly impressed. I went with someone else who contacted me on zillow for my selling agent.
Overall, this person was fine. He was professional, and held the open houses, but he didn’t seem dedicated, he came in too high on the price initially wasting the first weekend, and he didn’t advertise (signs out front).
My home was a townhome in the MIssion Gardens part of Rivermark, where Mei Ling’s constant closed deals make her a bit of a celebrity :) Her face is everywhere in Rivermark.
At the end of the day, I got an offer for $x55,000 on the house which was FAIR and close to some comparable sales a few months prior, but I thought I could do better.
I mulled this over a LONG time and decided to fire my agent and re-​list. I knew if I re-​listed, I might only get x55,000 again, but at least I’d have tried. I knew I needed to list with a top agent, and I knew (from all her signs) that the top agent was Mei Ling.
From the first time I met with Mei Ling, I could tell she was different. She did everything. EVERYTHING. The previous guy left my house as is, saying the furniture was fine.
Mei Ling emptied my house HERSELF. Mei Ling even contacted local charities and listed on craigslist my stuff so we didn’t have to pay for junk haulers. Mei Ling staged my house. Mei Ling told me I needed painting and repairs, and she set it all up for me. Mei advertised my house aggressively. Mei Ling priced my house properly. Mei Ling contacted me almost daily during the busy procedure of emptying, painting, repairing, and staging the house. Mei Ling met me AT MY WORK multiple times because I was busy starting a new job for checks and signatures for some of the work she recommended.
Bottom line is:
I met with Mei once and signed her on. I met her twice more at MY office to sign a few things and give her checks for painting. I went to my open house for fun and saw how truly excellent the staging was and how packed the house was with visitors from her excellent advertising and photos. She did everything. EVERYTHING. Unlike my previous selling agent and my previous buying agent, I really felt like Mei more than earned the (admittedly pretty large) commission on the property.
At the end of the day, I got my house emptied out basically for free — which was AMAZING — and I accepted an offer at…
wait for it…
x91,500.
That’s right. Mei Ling got me an extra $ 36,500. Working with Mei was truly a pleasure, and it was one of the smartest decisions I ever made.
Now, in one year when I use Mei as my buying agent, I’ll append this review. I’m sure she will do excellent work again.
Mei is truly not just the best agent I’ve ever worked with in real estate, but one of the hardest-​working and most-​dedicated professionals I’ve ever worked with in any field at any time in my life.

I’ve never thought of my real estate agent as critical to the process of buying and selling a home — until we experienced the services of Mei Ling.
Buying agents typically just push you to submit the highest, most compelling, and timely offer as possible — without your best interests in mind.
Mei provided her recommendations on submitting the most compelling offer, but also left it to our discretion as to what we felt was the best for our family. She gave us her honest opinion on what she felt would work, but didn’t pressure us too hard to go in any particular direction, which is refreshing. Mei is communicative and attentive to her clients. Although she was juggling multiple clients, she never made us feel like she was busy with others. She is responsive with all types of communication channels — phone, email, text. We used Mei as our agent for both the purchase of our new home and sale of our old and have never been happier with the results.
As our buying agent:
We found the home on our own (although it was on her search list that she put together for us), and within a few hours needed her help to ask clarification questions and put together an offer for us since we were competing with another offer. She quickly put together an offer for us in a timely fashion — and I’m pretty sure we made her late to an appointment because she was waiting on us to finish our e-​signatures to put together the package. Within 12 hours she provided an update, and in the course of the next 2 days worked throughout the day with us to secure our offer. She was thorough throughout the closing process — she reads all the contingencies and inspection reports and provides solid recommendations on what she thinks you should do next.
As our selling agent:
Mei cleaned, painted, fixed, staged, took beautiful pictures and put together the virtual tour of our home in 3 days after we moved out. The staging and the virtual tour was amazing. We wanted to move back in after seeing the results! She has a discerning eye and really excels at presenting your home in the best way possible. Our home sold in one week with more than a dozen offers, above asking price. We were floored. In the closing process, we ran into a sticky situation with our home, and without hesitation, she addressed it right away, paying for costs out of pocket.
Our experience was wonderful and we will not hesitate to use Mei again.
