History

Established in 1972.

Homestead Bowl & The X Bar started out as a Brunswick owned bowling center named Homestead Lanes. Brunswick later sold it to Mike Devito who has since sold it to Michelle Li and Greg Malley who renamed the business in 2013 to Homestead Bowl & The X Bar.

The X Bar has become a signature spot in the South Bay for karaōke and live music. Originally named the 11th Frame Lounge and then The Ringing Ten Lounge, The X Bar came to be in 2008 and is one of the very few remaining all ages venues in the South Bay.

Laneside Snacks & Grill just upgraded from a snack bar menu to a more creative restaurant style menu created by manager Scott Asencio. The reviews have been great. One of their signature items, The Ripper, is the reason to stop by just to eat.

The Bowling Zone Pro Shop is owned by Steve Nimmo and staffed by Bud Childs. They have provided countless bowlers equipment and coaching over the years.

Meet the Manager

Scott A.

Manager

Scott has been bowling at Homestead for over 15 years. Originally, coached by Steve Nimmo and now Ty Dawson, Scott’s game has flourished and to say he loves the sport would be an understatement.

Scott’s background is in restaurant and bar management, he also has a degree in graphic design and is the designer of all the company’s logos. Scott’s management resume includes: General Manager of By-Th’-Bucket Bar & Grill, Manager of Hobee’s Stanford, Manager of Buffalo Wild Wings Westgate and Owner and Graphic Designer at SNAP Designs.

Scott came to Homestead back in 2007 to become the Manager of The X Bar. He left in early 2012 and was asked to return in the Summer of 2013, this time as the Manager of the entire center. Since his return, many changes have been initiated: replacement of the bowling undergrounds, a new paint scheme inside, a new creative food menu, a cleaner environment, nightly bowling and bar specials and an overall morale boost. It appears Homestead is in good hands!
