I was referred to Jeff by a photographer friend whose opinion I trust, and she was so spot on! We did an engagement session with him, and more than a month before the shoot, he reached out to us with a google hangout session to plan the perfect shoot, and followed up with another session a week before the shoot. This was my fiancé’s first time being photographed, so having someone experienced and professional who could direct the shoot well was important to me. My fiancé also wanted to incorporate his sports bike into the shoot, and Jeff was not only accommodating of it, but also got as excited for it as my fiancé did, which was awesome!
Jeff helped us pick locations that would maximize the time shooting, even went early to go check out the venue, and suggested some shots in the night time that made the pictures extra special. He was also very accommodating about letting us change our shoot from a Sunday to a Thursday, because we were uncomfortable with how many people there were at the venues on a weekend when we actually went to check it out. Lastly, Jeff delivered the photos earlier than expected, which was such a welcome surprise. I love the results, and every time I look at them I find more to enjoy! Jeff is great, and you shouldn’t hesitate to engage him as your professional photographer for any special event. You will not be disappointed!

Jeff captured both my sons’ first birthday parties and he did a fabulous job! Kids birthday parties can get crowded, loud and chaotic, but Jeff was able to get great candid shots of our guests, my family and the birthday boys without compromising on quality. First birthday parties in our family are a big deal so it was a special event. He’s always pleasant to work with and very responsive to emails.
He even took time out of his busy schedule to meet me at the venue before the birthday party to assess the room, lighting and how best we should set-​up the birthday decorations for the best pictures. That really showed me that he cared about his clients and that he goes above and beyond what’s required. If you’re looking for a photographer to take family portraits or to capture your family’s special events, I highly recommend Jeff! You won’t be disappointed!

I contacted Jeffery for family photos to be taken at a Japanese Garden. Jeffery was very helpful with the process and went to the location early to check out the best area and lighting for photo session. I was really impressed with his attention to details with things like a hair out of place or bad lighting etc. In the end, I was so pleased with his work and how great the pictures turned out. I would highly recommend Jeffery for any photo events.

Jeff has worked with my family twice: he was second shooter at my wedding in 2012 and took our baby and family photos this November. We also hope to have Jeff work with us in the future as our daughter grows up too!
Since most posts are about his wedding photography, which is great, I thought I’d focus on our baby and family photos.
Jeff is a very kind and thorough photographer. Before sessions, he makes sure to go over any ideas you may have, making himself available by e-​mail, phone, Skype, or in person. He also likes to ensure that he knows what to expect with the venue ahead of time, if possible. I sent him photos of what our home looked like at the same timeframe that we’d have the session so that he could see if the lighting worked.
We have been impressed with his ability to get great shots without making clients feel too posed or uncomfortable. For this year’s session, he had to deal with our five week old baby who just happened to be having a very fussy and hungry day. Nonetheless, he was very patient and got really adorable photos of her, us as a family, and even some shots with our dog! He likes to get detail shots too.
Jeff got the photo album back to us sooner than I expected, yet he still apologized that it took a while. I was impressed by his quick turnaround time! We were able to view the photos, order the full digital album online, and get out our Christmas cards early. :) Everyone has been in awe of the photos, which really capture our personalities, the scene, and provide a great memory of our family at this stage. I’m so happy to have gotten photos of our baby at such a young age and can’t wait to get annual family photos to really capture us through the years. He has become not only a great person to work with, but a friend. :)

I generally just lurk Unilocal,but wanted to actually write a review b/​c Jeff is really that good. He is an absolute professional who takes great pride in his work and works tirelessly to ensure that his clients are happy. For my Dad’s 60^th birthday we hired Jeff to take family photos as a gift to my father. He spent hours scouting ideal locations for the shoot to give me a bunch of option. Once I decided where we wanted to shoot, he went back to the location and took a ton of test shots to ensure that he knew exactly how the lighting was going to be and the ideal time for us to do the photo session. The day of the family photo session, his energy kept all of us going — he cracked jokes to make us smile, ran over to adjust my Dad’s tie, and got down on the ground to get just the right shot. When time ran over, he just kept on shooting, wanting to make sure we got the perfect shot. At the end of the day, the pictures turned out amazing and my Dad couldn’t be happier with the family photo hanging above our fireplace. Jeff has been amazing throughout our entire wedding planning. After seeing his photos from another friend’s wedding I knew I wanted to hire him to photograph our wedding, as his clean style really resonated with me. At our first meeting he was not only very professional but he was also really personable. I could see that he really wanted to develop a close working relationship with his clients so that he could capture their lives and personalities in his photographs.
We did not hire a professional wedding planner or day-​of coordinator so I was not really sure how to organize a wedding day timeline to account for all the minor details, but Jeff patiently walked us through our schedule multiple times and made sure that we not only allotted sufficient time for photographs but also that we remembered all the trivial details of a wedding day. So in essence Jeff also served as our pseudo coordinator!
On our wedding day, Jeff and his assistant went above and beyond to capture all the memories of our wedding day. Besides having us pose for formal pictures with our friends and family, they were so stealthy I did not notice them at all when they were taking candid pictures. Moreover, due to some timing delays our wedding events got pushed back and we were not able to take some creative photos during our scheduled time, but Jeff generously stayed well beyond our contracted time to take those extra photographs and truly capture memorable moments from beginning to end.
Therefore, I strongly recommend Jeff as your professional photographer for your special event. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable in his craft, and accommodating of his clients’ wishes. And you will get beautiful and memorable photographs to last a lifetime!

We went to Jeff after seeing some of his photos from a friend’s wedding, and boy did he deliver. Jeff’s professionalism throughout the entire process was commendable; we were easily able to choose from a variety of packages after walking through his portfolio, and I never felt like I was being upsold on features I really didn’t want. He was also very attentive to small details and showed great foresight in helping us hash out details for the wedding far in advance, making sure our timelines and plans were realistic.
But Jeff is far from just being an effective paper-​pusher. Eunice and I have never done a photo shoot in our lives, but he was able to make us feel comfortable and really draw out our silly personalities through the shoots. We’ve had friends complain that their photographers just churned out portrait after portrait without any variation, but we were blown away by the creative poses and angles Jeff had set up for us.
Lastly, I wanted to point out Jeff’s willingness to go the extra mile for you. We had our wedding reception at the Lawrence Hall of Science, where they were featuring exhibits of giant robotic bugs. Due to some extenuating circumstances, we were running fairly late in our schedule, and decided to abandon several of our shots, including many of the exhibit photos. As the night was winding down, Jeff pulled us aside for some last minute photos; he had talked to the Lawrence Hall coordinator to reactivate the lights and exhibits just to help us take one last set of memorable shots with the bugs. It was a touching gesture that I truly appreciated.
tl;dr, Jeff is a professional, creative, and accommodating photographer who will capture your event with style.

Jeff is a great photographer in all aspects. Brian and I hired him for our engagement photo session at UC Berkeley, where we had met 7 years ago in the dorms. We now live in La Jolla, CA and wanted a Bay area photographer to shoot the engagement photo session on campus. I googled photographers in the Bay and Jeff’s work continually stood out as one of the best among the others. I liked his sense of creativity and the youthfulness that was portrayed for younger couples (like ourselves).
Jeff skyped with us beforehand and we talked through how the engagement session would work. He was friendly, informative and very easy to talk to. He suggested we bring 2 – 3 outfits and discuss any particular locations or poses we wanted. He also gave us tips on props that we could us that would be cute vs. distracting. We scheduled a Sat. that I later had to change and he was very flexible and understanding.
Upon arrival at UCB, Jeff immediately got us started in a warm up and gave us some directions on how to stand, place our hands, etc. This made us feel comfortable because we had no idea how to pose! As time went on, he let us take more control and only made some suggestions. I liked this as it made the session more relaxed. Brian and I had a wonderful time during the session.
Jeff was terrific about getting the images to us quickly after the shoot. They were so beautiful! We were very happy.
Overall, Jeff provided us with a fun day that was captured in a bit less than 100 photos. We highly recommend him.

Jeff was our wedding photographer for our Stanford Memorial Church wedding. The process of getting and working with a wedding photographer has so many components! Jeff’s incredible pictures speak for themselves, so I’ll do my best to cover what it was like working with Jeff below:
Initial Meeting
* Jeff was easy to coordinate with and responded very promptly to all emails setting up a meeting
* He brought his portfolio, walked us through his packages, and helped us create a package that was exactly what we wanted
* He was funny, nice, and someone we immediately clicked with. My sister’s piece of wedding advice to me was to pick a photographer and videographer you will enjoy spending the day with, because much of your wedding day is actually spent with these vendors!
Engagement Photos
* Jeff pre-​scouted the area that we wanted to do our engagement photos at, so he knew exactly where we should stand to get the best lighting and angles. Because of this, we saved so much time and were able to get in more locations.
* Jeff was thoughtful, creative, and encouraging through the entire process. While we might have been awkward in the first few shots, Jeff quickly put us at ease.
* The pictures turned out amazing. We even used one of them for our cake topper!
Wedding
* Jeff did an amazing job setting up for and capturing the wedding. Memorial church has a lot of restrictions, and Jeff was able to work within all of them to capture every detail of the ceremony.
* The quality of the photos is great – lighting, resolution, etc.
* Jeff always went the extra mile, whether it was getting me some water when I was thirsty or helping me find people I was looking for.
* After the wedding, Jeff was very quick in getting our photos to us, and in communicating about them!
I should also note that Jeff has a really special network of people that he works with. We found our videographer and my makeup/​hair artist through Jeff, and were very happy with both.
I would highly recommend Jeff as a wedding photographer! Get him now before his prices go up!

We found Jeffrey Kuo Photography last month when we were looking for a photographer to take family photos for us. We were very impressed with Jeff’s work and would highly recommend him to our friends.
Prior to our meeting, Jeff was very good at responding quickly to emails. We then met at a local coffee shop to discuss possible places to shoot our photos. Jeff had lots of great suggestions, which I was thankful for, because I had no idea where to go!
A few days before our family photo session, Jeff went to our photo site to check it out and look at lighting options, etc. I was impressed that he was prepared and planning ahead.
The day of our photo shoot, Jeff was at the location early. I texted him that we were all in the parking lot, while my brother was changing his daughter’s diaper. Jeff immediately texted back that it was no problem. I figured he would just sit and wait in the park, but instead, he came out to the parking lot to find us.
The neatest thing about our afternoon was discovering that Jeff also speaks Mandarin and some Taiwanese, which made it more fun when he could say certain instructions to my parents in their home dialect. It was also helpful because if my parents said something in Chinese, we didn’t have to translate it for our photographer because he already understood! :)
Jeff took lots of great photos and then was able to send them to us in a short period of time. We posted a few on Facebook and our friends loved them and said the photo shoot turned out really great.
I like how we get rights to his photos and can download them and print them at our local Costco and Walgreens. There are some photographers out there who do not give you the rights to their photos and charge an arm and a leg to develop prints. Fortunately Jeff wasn’t one of those guys!

I was shopping for a photographer to cover my baby shower event and couldnt have asked for a better photographer then Jeff !
Jeff is thoughtful, met with me before the event day — to take a quick tour of the venue, understand what I am looking for in the pictures and also spent some time on the phone — understanding my requirements.
Jeff was on time at the event day, really covered our event well — took detailed pics of my family and friends and covered the ceremony so well too !! we went a little over time and he didnt mind staying back and making sure all our important pics are clicked!
Sometimes it is also the after-​service that matters alot and jeff came through 10 on 10 on that front as well !!!
I would recommend jeff for any event !!!

Jeff is not only a talented photographer, he is so fun to work with! I highly recommend Jeff for bridal, engagement, girls night out, anything really! He is able to capture people at their best angles and bring out their best features. He makes you feel comfortable and give you tips on how to look best in front of the camera. I’ve worked with him on several occasions (two weddings, one engagement shoot) and he’s always delivered fantastic results! I’m looking forward to working with him again in the near future!

Jeff’s services don’t just end at the shoot, never to hear from him again for weeks or months. He’s right there sending you previews, asking you to pick your favorite shots, and giving you more options than Baskin Robbins’ selection of ice cream.

I highly recommend Jeff for any professional photography needs. I needed some head shots done and he was very friendly and open to what I was looking for. He was very patient during the photo shoot and really made me feel at ease being that I’ve never taken professional shots before. He took his time to explain different poses, lighting, and expressions which was informative and helped me out a lot.
The shots turned out great! He also did touch ups on the lighting and cropping to get me the perfect picture! I will probably hire him again to do a car shoot next. I have also seen some of his work for weddings and engagement photos and really like the clean classic look of them. If you’re looking for a photographer for any occasion, Jeff is the one you’re looking for.

Jeff is such an insightful photographer who is skilled at bringing out the best of his subjects in a natural way as well as a wonderful person. Jeff photographed my family for a birthday gift to my mom one year. He made us feel at ease and we got memorable shots of the family in the house, in front of the house and our neighborhood park. My parents loved it so much, they blew up the photos to hang in the house and made extra copies to bring back to my grandparents in Taiwan! I had the privilege of having Jeff as my photographer for head shots that I needed a few a months ago. Jeff is extremely professional and makes the whole experience fun. He does a great job of putting you at ease (especially if you aren’t used to being in front of the camera). He also took some great shots of my dog, Riley (I even made a custom 16×20 print out of one of them!). I highly recommend him for any photographic needs you may have — weddings, engagements, head shots, pet shots, etc.
