Estate Planning
Estate planning includes the preparation of a Will, Trust, Durable Power of Attorney for Finances, and a Health Care Directive.
These documents are established so that your assets are managed according to your wishes while you are alive, but unable to manage your own affairs; and to manage and distribute your assets after your passing for the benefit of your family and beneficiaries.
Our documents are prepared, with the goal of keeping your family out of court, and to minimize burdensome legal proceedings, so that your family and friends can assist you in the most efficient manner when needed
Probate, Estate & Trust Administration
When a person passes away and has assets, the bills need to be paid, and the assets distributed. This process is either through the probate court or privately, and is called Estate or Trust administration. This can be a confusing and time-consuming job. We are here to assist you through this process.
History
Established in 2006.
Ian R. Greensides opened his law practice in 2006 and has been admitted to practice law in California since 2004.
Ian has actively successfully defended and prosecuted several cases to trial, including several successful appeals. Ian has handled contested estates, wills, trusts, and probates — with the estates ranging up to $ 20,000,000 in value, involving individuals, banks, and charities.
Ian is a trained mediator and also serves as a court appointed mediator, offering an evaluative approach. Ian has been trained as a community mediator, using a facilitative mediation approach. As your mediator, he will treat you with dignity and respect, and assist both sides in coming to an agreement that both sides can live with.

Before becoming an attorney, Ian worked in financial services, advising individuals regarding investments, insurance, lending, retirement, and college planning. He also taught as an insurance licensing instructor in the South Bay and as an adjunct writing instructor at Cal State East Bay.
Ian earned his Juris Doctor from John F. Kennedy School of Law, his Masters in Public Administration from California State University East Bay, his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley, and he also attended the College of San Mateo, earning his Associate of Arts degree in English.
Ian is active in as a community volunteer is a member of the Cupertino Rotary club. Ian has volunteered with many non-profits, most recently as a Board Member of the Fremont Union High School District Foundation, Sunnyvale. He also founded and directed Camp Saint Francis for 16 years. Ian is currently a board member of the Cupertino Rotary Housing Corporation.
