Kate has been working with our son for the last 6 months. She is very energetic and keeps him engaged by mixing play with therapy. Our son has progressed in his speech since Kate started seeing him. Overall we are very happy with her work and would highly recommend her.

Thank goodness for finding Kate! She is a really great professional to work with and has a way with children to help them progress in the their language. Our son was/​is behind in speech and he takes so long to warm up to new people normally. However, that all changed when Kate walked through our door. On her 1^st visit with our son, it was like they’d known each other for so long and we were in shock at how engaged he was with her. We like that she comes to our home, a familiar place for our son and that she used environmental items or social games to practice his speech. There is no bag of tricks, all that knowledge is within Kate and that’s what makes her amazing. She knows how to help any child in their familiar environment. We have seen great progress in our sons expressive language which was the major concern. He is starting to not only speak but speak in 2, 3, 4 word sentences. Thank you so much Kate!

Kate has a true gift as a speech therapist. In just a few months, she taught my son very useful techniques to reduce his stuttering. Kate and my son have a great rapport and he has responded so well to therapy. Also, Kate noticed specific behavioral difficulties that my son exhibits. She incorporates strategies to help him overcome them. At the end of each session, Kate suggests how our family can help our son during the upcoming week. I feel very fortunate to have Kate working with us. She is talented, insightful, very organized and has a wonderful sense of humor. I would highly recommend her!

As a parent, it’s really tough to stand by and watch your child struggle with something as fundamental as language. When our two year old daughter wasn’t meeting her receptive and expressive language benchmarks, and it started to affect her behavior, we knew we had to do something to help her.
Kate and her team are focused on achieving real results. After just four months of weekly sessions with Kate, my daughter’s expressive language (talking) went from being 48% below average to 18% below average. Her receptive language (understanding) went from being 38% below average to 6% below average. We were astounded by how quickly our daughter progressed and I attribute her success to Kate’s expertise and guidance.
Kate is warm, fun and silly with kids, but she is also a great teacher for parents (like us), who are trying to figure out how WE can help, because there is nothing worse than feeling powerless. At the end of every session we reviewed the types of things that we should be practicing during the week. I think all that practice and reinforcement by us and our nanny made a difference.
I also like that she is totally flexible and willing to do the sessions at your home or even at your preschool. That’s an added bonus that we weren’t expecting!

Extremely impressed with Kate, and team. They have done wonderful job for my 22 months old son who has speech delay. We have tried few different options but Kate and Team are the best. Kate has been a great addition to our family and our holistic educational approach. We take education very seriously as we are both high school teachers. I am a Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher in special education. We are very selective of the people that we surround our children with. We loved Kate from the moment she started working with our two year old.
When we found Kate, she wasted no time in squeezing us into her schedule and then gave great effort to find a consistent weekly time slot. Kate began immediately, arrived on time and always prepared!
On a few occasions, our little one was challenging to work with due to a grumpy mood or lack of sleep (or just being a two year old). Kate is patient and goes with the flow of the situation and elicits a productive session regardless of my daughter’s mood! Our daughter LOVES to «play» with Kate and looks forward to every session.
With each session, Kate has always arrived with an outstanding selection of teaching materials. However, Kate is perfectly happy to conduct her session while our daughter is eating breakfast or engaged outside in an activity. Kate allows her session to develop in a very organic sense and has the knowledge and experience to conduct her session in any manner! With such experience, Kate even brings materials to educate us, the parents. She always leaves with something for us to work on, as a team, as we all work towards accomplishing our daughter’s language goals. Kate recognized that our daughter had some sensory challenges and began incorporating different activities to address her sensory needs. Kate sees the whole child and understands/​recognizes that there are many facets to language.
Kate is incredible to work with! She genuinely cares about the success of our daughter and celebrates our daughter’s progress! Our daughter has been working with Kate for 10 months and as a result is VERY communicative. I can’t ask for more!

My son was a very late talker, and has always struggled with speech in general. We were repeated told to wait until he’s older, as it might be possible that he just picks it (speech) up one day. However, as he was approaching kindergarten age, we just knew that we couldn’t wait any longer. We found Kate through Unilocal and reading other’s good review about her, we decided to contact her. She was very quick to respond and took the time to talk with us to explain how everything works. We have been with Kate now for about 2 months now (since late July/​Early August). Within a month into it, we already saw great improvement in our son’s speech and articulations skills. He’s now a more confident kid in class, and just recently his K teacher told me that he’s one of the chattiest one in the class. We can’t thank Kate enough for what she does and how much she has helped our son through this. I will say definitely go with Kate for your child’s speech therapy needs. She’s really wonderful.

We have started seeking Kate’s help almost more than a month ago for our 31 months old speech delayed son. I am going to echo the same experience and thoughts as everybody else. My son has built some special bond with her and looks forward to her weekly visit. He plays enthusiastically with her not knowing that he is getting therapy from her. She is awesome with my son. she understands him perfectly and has helped us too to understand why he is doing something he is doing. He is adding more sounds and words and becoming more social with every session. There is noticeable improvement. Her tips are bang on. Apart from speech related suggestions, Kate helps us with tips and tricks to generally become better parents and handle the varied and impulsive emotions of our son. We are thankful to her for all her help and look forward to continue working with her for getting the intended results for our son.

I have 3 sons who all have been in different therapies and I have worked with more than 10 different therapists. I can honestly say Miss Kate is my favorite! We feel so lucky to have her for speech with my 2 year old. She is energetic, playful, relaxed yet focused and organized. Her dog is a special needs trained dog and was a delight at sessions. I would HIGHLY recommend her if you can get her!

We feel so lucky to have found Kate! She has been wonderful working with my 4 year old son on his pragmatic language skills and we have seen great improvement in such a short time. I love that she gives me feedback, ideas, and strategies to use at home. The most important thing is that I feel 100% confident in her skills and that she knows what she is doing. I worked with Kate for a year and sat in her sessions with students with more aggressive behaviors. She is amazing with children. She’s very motivating and encouraging. The kids enjoyed working with her and and even made some noticeable improvements in their sentence structure. She’s a very joyful, enthusiastic, and wonderful person to be around. I highly recommend her for all families seeking speech therapy!

Kate is a wonderful speech therapist! My son has a speech delay and she is fantastic with him. He has made so much progress over just a few months. She’s creative, personable, fun, and passionate about her job. We are so thankful we have her!

We had a great experience with Kate. We were a little concerned about articulation. Kate came over to our house and spent an hour with us, teaching us about language acquisition and checking our child’s language. She was on time, super friendly, great with our child, and I’d highly recommend her for anyone looking for an assessment! She also sent us several resources via email to learn more. Overall a very positive experience!

It’s been only 3 sessions but I can see that Kate is super awesome with what she does. My kid doesn’t realise that she is going through therapy for her Kate is a friend who comes to play. She asked Kate to come home again after her «play date «today .
I absolutely love that Kate gives me an update on what she worked on that day and tips on how we can help my kid at home. She also lets us know what didn’t work during the therapy which I find is super useful .
I am so glad we found Kate. Just three sessions and I have noticed an uptake in my daughters language skills. I wish we could meet her dog, unfortunately we have a hyper active 4 legged kid at home that may not allow it.

Kate Sellers is one of my colleagues from work. She is a FANTASTIC speech therapist that I have personally worked with. Why do you ask? Let me tell you about my personal experience. I am a 5^th/​6^th grade teacher who is proud to represent one of the schools in Milpitas. I had two students who worked closely with Kate Sellers. During a speech session, she would ask the kids about their day and how they were doing. Then she would ask the kids to repeat the sounds of letters that they struggled with, with many practices. She would also ask them to practice at home. She was always so encouraging with them and motivated them to practice so they could complete her program. Sure enough… as she worked with them the entire year, two of my boys were able to exit out of her program. We are having their congratulations meeting next Monday and Tuesday. Kate is just a very pleasant person to be around with. When you talk to her, you can see the joy in her eyes when she talks about working with kids and if you’re a parent who worries about your child having to go to a speech therapist, pick Kate. She will take care of you and let you know what your child needs to work on. As always, partnership is the key to success!

Katie is a wonderful therapist and so is Marley. My son has worked with Katie since he was 2 ½ in speech therapy. He had so many problems communicating that I was skeptical he would make any progress with Katie, but I knew it was necessary. When he walked in, he slowly began trusting Katie (he always referred to her as ‘my Kaite’) and started making such great progress, from signing to talking. She is always so patient with him and Marley is great with him. He is less frustrated now that he can communicate and you would never have known that he had really serious speech problems. My son and I would highly recommend Katie and Marley.

Kate and Marley GREATLY helped our son for almost a year and a half. My little guy started seeing Kate (and Marley) when he was 19 months old and barely saying any words. When he graduated at 3, my son was capable of saying 3 and 4 word sentences, singing songs and holding a simple conversation thanks to Kate’s hard work and dedication. Marley helped make going to speech fun and assisted with getting my son comfortable in a strange setting. They are an amazing team and worked wonders with my son’s speech. Kate has a very warm personality and is very easy to talk to; she really listens to what you have to say and is quick to provide feedback, instruction or do further research as needed. Marley is such a lovable dog, he even helped my son to not be fearful of dogs after a close encounter with a vicious dog! I can’t recommend Kate (and Marley) highly enough!

My 4 and a half year old Daughter has Autism and non-​verbal. We worked with Kate and Marley about a year and a half ago when we lived in the Bay area. And I have to say that thanks to Kate I heard my daughter say so many words during her sessions and bringing tears of joy to my eyes. Something that no one has been able to do ever since we moved. I have to highly recommend Kate and the calmness that Marley brings in to the therapy. We enjoyed working with her every week!

Kate has been a great help to me. I have some issues with public speaking and she gave me tools to deal with the anxiety. She is very patient and thorough. I appreciate her professionalism and her flexibility with my schedule. I wouldn’t have the confidence to do what I do without her! Highly recommend!

We worked with Kate for about a year starting from when our son was around 17 months old. He loved Kate and her adorable therapy dog Marley and was so excited to see them every week! Kate helped our boy, who didn’t talk at all in the beginning, start signing a few words and gradually transition to saying them out loud. Thanks to her, he is doing much better and is less frustrated now that he can express his needs! We were very sad to see her leave but we wish her the best of luck in the future!
