Aroma Italiano Café’ is a family owned and operated business by seasoned professional Chef, Umberto Ortoli together with his wife and partner Colleen. Chef Umberto Ortoli grew up in Naples He studied Hotel culinary school in Italy and worked in five stars Hotels throughout Europe and aboard Princess Cruises before coming to Southern California. Umberto wanted to create a casual restaurant featuring contemporary, high quality, affordable Italian food.

Aroma Italiano Café’ is a family owned and operated business by seasoned professional Chef, Umberto Ortoli together with his wife and partner Colleen. Chef Umberto Ortoli grew up in Naples He studied Hotel culinary school in Italy and worked in five stars Hotels throughout Europe and aboard Princess Cruises before coming to Southern California. Umberto wanted to create a casual restaurant featuring contemporary, high quality, affordable Italian food. In 1991, Colleen and Umberto opened their first restaurant in Irvine. Instantly popular. They opened a second in Rancho Santa and the rest is history.
