I found this company while searching for tub reglazers. His Unilocal reviews were plentiful and glowing. I’m happy to add my own to that long list. I’ve used him 3 times over the past year. First, to refinish an antique cast iron Clawfoot bathtub. He helped carry the 400lb beast down a flight of stairs, took it to his workshop to do the work, and returned with a young, strong guy to carry it back up to the second floor. The tub is now beautiful! When we installed the hardware we nicked a couple of spots and he was happy to come back and do touch ups as part of his 5 year guarantee. Next, I had him reglaze a tub in a condo we rent out that looked like it needed more than just TLC after the last tenants moved out. In that case he didn’t think it was bad enough to need chemical stripping before reglazing, just some sanding, which allowed him to quote me a slightly lower price. Turns out the glazing without stripping had some trouble spots (bubbling and a couple of sharp points near the drain) that he had to come back to rework. But he didn’t charge any extra, and instead added a new drain ring and the ring that goes around where the shower pipe comes out of the wall, both of which were rusting and an eyesore. Last, we had a rusting spot in the bottom of another condo tub. In this case he gave it the full treatment of a chemical scrub and reglazing. He also added faucet and drain hardware throughout so that the shiny tub would have shiny hardware so it would all look fresh and new. In that case he did charge me for the hardware, but it was cheaper than if I’d bought it myself and hired a handyman to install it all. I’m happy to have all my tubs looking new again and feel it was all worth the price paid. To top it all off, Bill is just a naturally nice guy.

Bill came out and reglazed our tub recently. He did an outstanding job. It had been reglazed before and looked terrible since it was peeling and sometimes would clog the drain. After Bill was done it looked and felt amazing. He stripped the old coating to then apply his which he gives a 5 year warranty on. The warranty was a big deal for us since other companies we talked to offered less years.
Bill was very easy to work with and friendly. You can really tell he takes great pride in taking care of his customers. Very professional as well.
I highly recommend his services.

I recently had my faucet face plates replaced and unfortunately, the finish around the face plates got damaged. I texted Bill pics of the damage for a quote, but he insisted he needed to come out to see it in person. When he arrived he told me it would be $ 150 to touch up. I was pretty shocked being that it was just a sliver of an area and the cost to reglaze the entire shower unit was just around $ 400. When I asked if he would do it for $ 100 he straight up told me because I live in Tustin, he’s «not motivated to do it for anything less.» I guess I have to respect him for his curt honestly, but you would think he’d show more appreciation for a customer whose 5 star review probably directed some business his way.
I stand by my first review in that his work is solid, but don’t expect him to show you any love if you’re a return customer who doesn’t live near Cypress.
I ended up calling Kitchen and Bath Makeover. Javier quoted me a much more reasonable price over the phone, came out the same day, and did an amazing job. If you’re in the Tustin/​Irvine area I would definitely look into them first.

Bill is skilled, competent and above all, honest. He advised us on what should be enameled and what didn’t, thus saving us money. The work product was excellent. We give Bill our highest recommendation, and we will definitely use his services again when necessary.

Very nice guy. Response quickly. Communication well. Good workmanship and service at reasonable price. It is much easier and faster to refinish an old chipped tub instead of replacing for a new one. No problem at all in working with this business.

We had it done May 28^th. And so far so good. Looks brand new and so bright. It is guaranteed for 5 years from chipping and peeling, so hopefully it will last for 5 years or they will come out and fix it for us.
We are not too worried about it.
It was clean nice job he did. He was polite as a person and left no mess afterward.
We don’t have any window in our bathroom so made us worry a little bit, but he brought his own ventilation system and when we came back home after a few days of vacation, the smell was totally gone. (we had to go away because we only have one shower!)

If you’re looking for a quick inexpensive facelift for your tub or shower, I recommend reglazing/​re-​enameling. We have a home built in the mid-​60s and while structurally sound, our shower stall and bathtub were definitely showing their age. There were lots of stains and discolorations that we couldn’t get out no matter what type of cleaner we used (not to mention those damn stick-​on daisy residue). Then we heard about reglazing and thought we’d give it a shot. It’s basically like a coat of really hard paint over whatever surface you want to cover. They do a thorough cleaning and preparation of the surface, and then they spray coat the whole thing. The process takes a good 6 – 8 hours of work (most of it for the cleaning and prepping), and you can’t use the shower/​tub for about 48 hrs while letting it cure. And be warned about the totally NOXIOUS fumes. Make sure the bathroom can be ventilated somehow (open window is fine), and you might have to sleep in another room. Special care is also required for this surface: no abrasives or scrubs of any kind, only spray cleaners. But the results are pretty nice, and it’s the fraction of the cost of getting new tiles and tub. For example, to reglaze our tub and tile surround it was $ 550.
I saw the truck for this business on the freeway one evening and saw that they were a local business offering a 5 year warranty, so it seemed like worth a shot. Upon calling them, I learned that it’s owned and operated by one guy (Bill) who’s been doing it since the late 70s. He’s super-​friendly and very accommodating to your schedule. He came out to do a free estimate and we set a Saturday date for the work. He was on time, did a great job, and didn’t go over the estimate. The tub and tiles look great and everybody’s happy.
We’d actually used another company a few years ago for our master shower but hadn’t been that happy with them. The work was just OK, but they’d gone over their estimate and the guy who’d come to do the work wasn’t forthcoming with this info, which really irritated me. Since it was a large contracting company that sends out subcontractors, the guy you talk to to get an estimate isn’t the guy who comes out to do the work. And they didn’t offer a 5-​year warranty. After about 3 ½ years, I started seeing very small fissures on the lower walls which concerned me. So I had Bill do a partial reglaze on the affected areas and now it’s better than when we first had it done. Comparing Bill’s work to the other place I can really see the difference. The first time around, some runs and drips were visible on the walls and there seemed to be slightly thin areas on the floor, but when Bill did it it was uniformly coated and smooth. I was very pleased with my experience.
