Cypress Family Dental

I always tried to avoid Dental offices to be honest. Only because of horrible and scary experiences. I was having a horrible toothache, something I simply couldn’t avoid. Looking for a great Dentist I came to Unilocal instead of 800 Dentist. Best choice I ever made. I made an appointment a week ago from this past Monday. Knowing how much pain I was in they were nice enough to get me in that same day. Once I arrived I felt welcomed and appreciated. They actually had sympathy and were sincerely concerned. Not only was my dental issues resolved and fixed, but I was so happy with the overall experience that I brought my little girls in. Dr. Wood took time to explain every step and showed genuine concern. Honestly this visit along with others that followed have changed my thinking of Dentist. I am truly happy and grateful for Dr. Wood and his caring staff. Plus the cookies are delicious.

I always thought unicorn siting and a great gentle dentist go hand in hand (they don’t exist). I was wrong about the dentist part until I had several appts with Dr. Wood. Know that I am not paid, coerced, or have any affiliation with this dentist to write this review. My experiences had been all positive. His staff (front desk and nurses) are friendly and not intimidating. He even give you cookies (yes, more than one) when you are done with your appt. Now that I have seen a good dentist, maybe I will someday see that unicorn. Stranger things had happened.

Doctor Woods and his staff are exceptional. The service they provide is prompt, caring and professional. I am so glad I found them.

I’ve been with Dr. Wood for over 20 years and can say that he is really a great dentist. Shortly after I had started going to Dr. Wood, I ended up in a terrible car accident that left my jaw misaligned and lower teeth knocked out. He was great at letting me know of all the different options I had for new teeth and how much they cost. He didn’t try to sell me on the most expensive procedure and even recommended a cheaper alternative than an implant based on my injuries. My bridge is still good and solid after 20 years! Staff is great. He is also really great with kids. My kids have been going to him since they were about 5 and love it there.

From the moment I walked into the office, I felt like I had known the staff my whole life. They are welcoming, accommodating, and very professional. They enjoy their jobs, love their patients, making you feel more at ease if you dread getting your mouth worked on.
Dr. Woods is an amazing dentist, to say the least. He always takes time to fully explain every procedure, and patiently numbs me up (several times when I am being a baby) so I do not feel anything he is doing in my mouth. He knows exactly what services are needed, and never recommends I do any procedure just to get money; most dentists are the exact opposite. He follows up with me after each visit, and even checks in when I come in for my cleanings. He cares about his patients, and you truly feel like you are part of the family.
When you leave your appointments, you walk out with fresh baked, delicious cookies, and a feeling of ease knowing your next appointment will be just as pleasant!
I have never felt more comfortable in a dentist’s office, and highly recommend Dr. Woods and his team to everyone.

I can’t say enough about Cypress Family Dental. I have been going here for at least 7 years or longer. Dr. Wood and the entire staff are simply AMAZING!!! I was the first one to use their services and now family and many friends go to Cypress Family Dental.

My favorite dentist, dr. Wood is a master at his craft. Had a root canal painless and quick, evenbetter. Dr wood called me later that night to make sure the pain stopped. That’s someone who cares! This is the place to go!!!

Been going here for over 15 years and I always have a great experience. Generally, like most people not a big fan of the idea of having to go to the dentist, but the staff here makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. They do an excellent job cleaning and enjoy having nice chats to keep your mind of things. Dr. Wood is an excellent guy. Super nice and always interested in making sure your all set to go!

This is a very busy place where people are generally satisfied with their overall dental treatment experience. Staff is very friendly and they have a good system to schedule an appointment, which does not waste your time. The place is generally busy and it is hard to secure an appointment. Dr. Wood is a nice chap and he seems very friendly. I got 2 cleanings done here and so far the experience has been good. I would recommend this place. The cost is reasonable if you got a good dental insurance.

Love love love the staff and Dr. Wood, never ever have to wait, I had an emergency and they took me right in.

I’ve waited to write this review until I had a few visits. Wanted to make sure my first impression was a lasting one. Well, it lasted! I’m so happy I found this dentist and it is all due to the Unilocalers who took the time to rate him. He’s an amazing dentist, so skilled, so professional, not to mention very personable. The office is equipped with the latest and greatest high tech equipment. His staff is obviously top of their class pros who know exactly what they are doing. The office is run so efficiently, you never wait. I’ve finally learned not to even bother getting a magazine!!!
One thing I want to stress, they do not try to sell you services you do not need! If you have a crack in a filling that needs to be replaced, you can clearly see from the camera the crack in your filling.
I have utmost confidence in Dr. Wood and each and every member of his team. I do have one regret and that is that I did not find him sooner. My last dentist did me a huge favor when he sold his practice to a chain corporation. I never would have found this exceptional practice otherwise! It’s a high tech office, but at the same time, it’s old fashioned in how the patients are treated. No corporate conveyor belt dentistry here. Dr. Wood and his staff are 10 degrees of pure awesomeness!!! The cookies are the icing on the cake (does that even make sense??)
I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new dentist. You absolutely will not be disappointed.

When our Long Beach-​based family dentist of thirty years retired, I continued with the dental group that bought his practice, While the dentist I saw was acceptable, his office staff was mistake prone and inefficient — so I saw a local dentist, but his approach was disarming and it appeared he was more interested in making his yacht payments than dealing professionally with my dental needs. Luckily, my dental insurance company listed Dr.Wood. I’ve now completed my third appointment and wanted to write this review to share my positive experiences with others:
My first interaction was with his office staff headed by veteran office mgr, Melody. She and all her staff are helpful, considerate and client friendly. One would not typically go to the dentist as a «daymaker,» but must say that is the nature of my experience at each visit.
Dr Wood appears to have the profession running in his veins. Not only does he have years of experience, he very competently, with the aid of modern equipment, assessed my mouth, gums and dental problems, explained them in an understandabke manner and has set about on a reasonable course of action to resolve them, As a result he has removed one of life’s major concerns. My comfort with his assessment has let me to recommend that both my wife and our son adopt him as their dentist in the future.
My take is that, not unlike the proliferation of optometrists, chiropractos, insurance agents and tax accountants, the same holds for dental offices. Finding Dr. Wood among them is viewed as a real blessing.

I’ve been going to Dr. Wood for 27 years now. I went to another dentist one time (because I had an HMO dental plan) and had to go back to Dr. Wood to fix the work the other dentist did. If you want your dental work done right then go to Dr. Wood. He is by far the best in his profession.

5 stars all the way! I absolutely love Cypress Family Dental. The only downside is they don’t accept my insurance BUT it’s well worth paying more for such excellent dentistry. The entire staff is always so nice when I come in and they remember who I am. Dr. Wood is so caring about all of his patients. I trust him with my teeth 100%!

Been coming here for the past yr. All of the staff are very friendly and always make the experience to the dentist a good time. DR. Woods takes it upon himself to make his patients feel comfortable. He always explains what he’s about to do and what feelings may occur. I had my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and there’s no pain with no swelling. He did an excellent job and I’m very happt with the results. Will continue to be my primary dentist

Without a doubt, one of the best experience I’ve had at a dentist office. The front staff were very friendly and efficient! I did not have to wait for more than 5 mins for my appointment (which is crazy since you expect to wait at least 30 minutes or more at any other office).
In regards to Dr. Wood, he was very professional, informative, and more importantly personable. He explained the process thoroughly as he did my on boarding examination, and recommended me options that would fit my budget.
Overall — wonderful experience and I would recommend this office to anyone. (They also give you a set of cookies before you leave too :) if you want it.)

I was years behind on dental care and needed a lot of work. Dr. Woods and his staff were the best I have ever had and I’ve been to several dentists in my lifetime. Dr Woods performed the most painless and gentle procedures I’ve experienced. I had cleanings, x-​rays and couple of root canals with crowns. I have recommended him to my friends and I will continue to do so.

I came here by referral from my MIL. She drives an hour to get here! And rightfully so…
My initial consultation was x-​rays & client paperwork. I was blown away by the new x-​ray machine and viewing scope. The x-​ray machine no longer has film that you have to bite on while you struggle to breath under a 20 lb lead blanket. Instead, you’re standing & bite down on a little piece of plastic & a strobe goes around your head. Within seconds I was in the chair and was able to see my teeth on the flat screen tv mounted above the patient chair. Dr. Woods is very patient, knowledgable & completely professional. He explained everything that I should get done in a very non-​pressuring manner. He also asked about my concerns & answered all my questions.
My second visit was for 2 fillings. They prepped me with a numbing agent and then used the local anesthesia. Dr. Woods expertise and gentle touch is astounding. He was very concerned about my well-​being and comfort as well as being encouraging and supportive of his assistant. You can truly tell that he takes pride in his work. He is completely opposite of everything I have ever known of dentists! My mind is blown.
When you leave, they’ll offer you cookies. Freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer chocolate chip cookies, made just a hop and a skip away from the entry way. Yes. They’re crunchy around the edges and chewy on the inside. The chocolate is still a little melted and they’re the perfect serving size. You get 3 to take home! The staff was so sweet that when I said I was going to save my cookies for my 3 y/​o, they gave me a 2^nd bag! Other than job security there seems to be some sort of delicious discrepancy with your dentist giving away baked goods.
