My golden retrievers legal name is Naughty Nala if that tells you anything! Without K-​Nine Kingdom I don’t think our family would have survived her wildness! She is now the best well behaved dog! We used Shaleen And Matt to train our puppy. He went there at 5 ½ months old with behavior problems beyond what we knew what to do about to correct. Shaleen and Matt came highly recommended by a friend on Catalina Island where we live. The training facility is located in Cyprus, CA and Shaleen came to the Long Beach Landing and met us and Yukon for a complimentary evaluation of Yukon. She stated the terms of payment and estimated time needed to correct his unacceptable behaviors. She charged what she said she would and met her schedule. She came to Catalina Island with Yukon after 6 weeks having him and trained us. We continued to do what she showed us and Yukon continued to «test» us as Shaleen said he would. Included in the initial quoted price was a second follow up two weeks later. Shaleen, Matt and their one year old son came to a small apartment we keep over town in LA on the Mainland to see the space Yukon inhabits there when in LA. We had some lunch and expressed some needs we had and questions we had on various behaviors of Yukon and all were answered either by Shaleen or Matt. It also gave us opportunity to show how well Yukon behaved in a restaurant setting. We gave them one puppy and 6 weeks later we got a puppy back that was unbelievably improved. They did a fantastic job. We will board Yukon with them when we travel where he can’t go. They crate trained him and he walks without pulling. He has to be muzzle trained on the boats to travel to Catalina and they achieved that and much more as well. We appreciate them so much for helping us and little Yukon. Highly recommend them for training and boarding. Knowledgeable and wonderful honest people.

I am happier and both dogs are happier — which is a game/​life changer for me! I sent my 10 year old mix with a newly rescued 5 month old mix — both female, in hopes I could reinforce a pack bond between the two and be able to walk them for more than 5 min without wanting to tear my hair out!
I’ve had them back for a week now and it’s been great — was worth every penny and the 4 ½ hour drive there! If only they were in Las Vegas! If you’re in CA, I know she’ll go to you (better for the dog (s)) and she kept me updated with texts and pictures — which was so appreciated! Great service!
I’ve even considered flying out of a different airport to board my dogs there when I travel. When I say I’m impressed, I am SERIOUSLY impressed.
On her recommendation I changed their food and now their diet is better, which for the older dog who had TPLO surgery weight management is critical! She also spent the time to train me, which so many people forget about the responsibility of the owner in maintaining obedience training and being consistent!
Love these two — can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my dogs! Feel free to ask any and all questions if you are on the fence!

We sent both our dogs here for the «Bootcamp» and could not be happier with our experience. Included in the cost are follow up visits which really helps to reinforce what the dogs learned and of course how we as owners can keep them reinforced. Our almost year old Mini Aussie and 8 year old Poodle were VERY dog aggressive on leash. Our Aussie also has confidence issues. They are now a pleasure to walk and Shaleen came over when the Aussie had a slight relapse and fixed the problem right away. Both Shaleen and Matt are very professional and committed to helping owners have well behaved pets.

Shaleen came to my house to work with my 3 German short-​haired pointers that we use for hunting, they have good field training but not the basic heel come stay training. We would let them out in the front yard and they would run a muck and we would have a hard time getting them to come back, but after Shaleen worked with them and us what a big difference. If we drop the leashes they stop and wait for us to pick them back up. When we let them in the front yard we just tell them to“stay in your yard” and they stay! I’m very thankful for Shaleen help

Shaleen did a amazing job with our pitbull, Stella! For almost 2 years and several trainers we never had much progress, she was always jumping on people when they would come to our house, not biting but pretty annoying and out of control. she would always pull at the leash when walking and so many other behavioral problems. When we went for a month long trip out of the country we left her with Shaleen and when we got her back it was like she was another dog. a super easy to control dog, more loving and relaxed dog. Shaleen already came back 2 times to check how she’s doing and to help us correct the way we interact with her to keep her on the right path.
I would highly recommend her for every dog owner, especially if you have bad experiences with other trainers. if anyone say that your dog is impossible, Shaleen can take care of this.

Shaleen worked with my 11 month old German Shepherd who had some bad habits and terrible separation anxiety. I also wanted to have her work with him around cats and help me introduce him to my cat, which she did. She had him for about 6 weeks, and he came back a much more obedient dog. He will stay in a room without me (he used to follow me all over the house), and I’ve even been able to leave him home alone, and he is great! He literally did thousands of dollars of damage in the few days I had tried to leave him home before he went with her. He is much better on a leash and responds to corrections easily. She worked with him on everything I asked her to, and you can tell that she is stern, but loving. I had to take him over there one day after I got him back, and he got excited as we pulled up, so he clearly had a good time at their house. I plan to use her for any future trainings I need, and I have already and will continue to recommend her to my friends and family who need a trainer. She is fairly priced and very effective and professional.

I never realized how calm and well behaved a puppy could be until I had Shaleen come and help me train my pup. He’s gotten extremely good with commands, and we can even walk off leash without him leaving my side! I didn’t think I’d be able to get such a well behaved dog without sending him to boot camp but the training sessions with Shaleen and Matt definitely proved me wrong!

Shaleen and Matt are amazing trainers! They are very knowledgeable & take time to explain all of their training and have wonderful techniques that are easy to learn and are super effective … even for an extremely stubborn dog! Lol!
A dog is a life long comitment so it is worth every penny! I can’t say enough good things… anyone who works with them definitely won’t regret it!

We were at our wits end on what to do with our year old german shepard puppy, Maya. She was aggressive, and would not listen to either my husband or me. I had gates all over the house since she was destructive. I figured my last resort was to send her to a boot camp. I called Shaleen and she got back to me right away and set up an assessment meeting. I warned Shaleen that Maya would jump all over her but within 30 seconds, Maya was submissive and listened to her. I was stunned. She went to Bootcamp for 60 days (she needed some extra time:) and when she came back she was a totally different dog. She listens, walks easily, understand boundaries and is a real joy to have in our lives. Shaleen has also trained us on how to maintain the training she got. I can’t even begin to say Thank you enough. We can take her for walks, to the park, have her sit with us in the evening and she is so easy to be around now. We have boarded her with Shaleen since she has come home and did a 3 day refresher course and will continue to do this. This bootcamp was worth every penny and I would recommend anyone who needs help to contact Shaleen!

Shaleen and Matt really know what they are doing… This was obvious the very first minute they showed up and took control of my Pitbull puppy. Walking my dog used to be so embarrassing, she would pull and freak out any time she would see another dog. She wasn’t aggressive because she plays just fine at the dog park but other people walking down the street wouldn’t know that! I am so grateful to them for giving me the tools to make walking my dog enjoyable for both of us! My 5 year old daughter can walk her now without any pulling, its magic! My only regret is that I waited so long. Communication has been great and the training was very affordable. I feel sorry for people walking their dogs that cannot control them… It is a great feeling to be the pack leader!

So my puppy recently came back from bootcamp and wow! Shaleen and Matt did wonders! Not gonna lie… it was hard being away from my pup for a while but I think that it was so worth it!
My puppy had problems with a bit of everything but I can’t blame her; dogs can’t be perfect all the time:3
Walking with my puppy has gotten so much better! She doesn’t pull and knows when to stay and heel. She also learned to potty outside and is doing so much better trying not to jump on people LOL Honestly there’s just so much improvements with my puppy! Also when my puppy came back from bootcamp her fur was amazingly soft, not greasy, and did not smell. This was because of the food they’ve been feeding her since they ran out of the food I sent. I loved the dog food that they recommended.
I don’t regret it at all sending my puppy to Shaleen and Mat! They really know what they’re doing and are just awesome people! They also do follow up session with no extra charge to make sure that I’m enforcing all the training methods that they did with my puppy.
Overall, if you need to train your dog I highly recommend going to Shaleen and Mat! Awesome people, patient, knows what they’re doing and most importantly dog lovers: D

I thought my puppy was wonderful when I sent her to Shaleen. Yes, she had a few issues. However, after training with Shaleen, not only has she earned her name «Starla»; but also she is beyond what I thought that a puppy was capable of. So many problem areas that I had disregarded or given up hope of resolving have completely changed.
This is the best experience I’ve had since rescuing Starla.

I recently sent my bulldog to the boot camp with Shaleen and what a difference it has made. Our dog was so well mannered when we got him back. They did an amazing job. Walks with him are so much better now that he doesn’t pull in the leash. We can also take him to restaurants without him making a peep.
Shaleen and Matt also followed up us to ensure we were implementing the techniques they showed us. Overall they did a great job and I totally recommend them to anyone.

I contacted K-​nine to inquire about board and train and to get an overall better idea of what to expect. Shaleen contacted me almost immediately and set up an appointment time for her to meet my dog in person and explain how things are run. Already, the initial contact and prompt reply set things off to a good start. I had contacted several other dog trainers and one hadn’t returned my email until three days later…
Shaleen met with me at my house on Sunday. She stepped out of her car and instantly my dog began to ambush her and jump on her. She did some kind of snap and command and had Benson sit within seconds. I knew from that point on that she was indeed a «dog whisperer.»
She took a good time to explain everything and was very open and honest with me. I felt comfortable talking to her and that she was an honest trainer rather than someone just interested in gaining a sale.
Overall, I know my dog will be on good hands with her. Her hours are very flexible and she’s very reasonable with prices. Give her a call!

My Pretty Little Penny needed some training! She was a very insecure scared pit when people she didnt know walked into our home. She would bark bark bark bark and run around like crazy! She also Would pull me around lunging to play with every dog or person that walked by! Starting with the basics, Penny picked up quickly how to follow me instead of leading on the walk. We worked on sit, down, stay and off. I could have sworn i was training her on those before… but with in the training sessions Penny now listens when told to the first time, she follows and isnt scared when people walk in the door anymore! Matt worked GREAT with penny and really changed her into being a well behaved pup! He worked with my schedule and coming to my house to teach me how to train Penny!
All and all extremely satisfied with Pennys training with Matt.

My mother, Marlene, and I just love Shaleen. she trained our german shepard — grey hound mix who was out of control. He is now a wonderful walker and companion. He looks forward to boarding at Shaleens and always comes home happy and healthy. She is so knowledgeable about dogs. we just love her!

When I adopted my nearly two-​year-​old pit mix in late June, he came bucking through the front door like a 70-​pound bronco, slammed his paws on the kitchen counters in search of delicious morsels, and promptly created an obstacle course out of all of my living room furniture. This was when I realized what I had suspected even prior to meeting my dog: that I needed help with his training. That’s where K-​Nine Kingdom came in!
Sessions:
We signed up for private training with Shaleen and Matt, and they were literally at my front door the very next night. It became clear to me quickly that while they already had a training program in mind, they were totally willing to go off course to meet the needs of my dog (and me… let’s be honest here. Training a dog is often more about training the owner). Here’s a brief list of some of the issues we worked on during our sessions:
— Stopping «testing» behavior: When I first got my dog, he was nipping at my arms so often that a stranger in Starbucks actually told me, «You don’t have to accept this kind of treatment,» as in he thought I was starring in a real-​life version of _​Sleeping with the Enemy_​because I was so bruised from my dog’s antics. That all stopped with our very first session.
— Meeting the family: These guys came over to formally introduce my dog to another dog in my immediate family just to make sure that everyone got along from the start (and to show us what to do if they ever stopped getting along).
— Basic training: We worked on sit, down, stay, leave it, come, possession issues, on-​leash walking skills (heeling, etc.), and manners at the door (establishing a boundary, avoiding barking, and never jumping on visitors).
— On-​leash training: For my dog, this was the biggest issue. He is usually great with dogs in off-​leash situations, but due to lacking socialization as a young puppy, he initially terrorized many dogs that walked past him, especially in public outdoor seating situations in which he was on leash and stationary and the other dog was prancing along. His ears would shoot up, he would race to meet the dog, and he would bark like his tail was on fire. It was NOT cool. To correct this issue, Shaleen and Matt organized several of our sessions in public locations that are known for being filled with dogs. My dog not only got to work on his behavior while walking past other dogs on a leash but also — and this is critical for him — he was forced to sit as many, many dogs of all kinds passed him. It was so helpful to work on his reactions and to work on my handling of them in this environment. I especially appreciated the follow-​up on this issue. More than once, he and I would do well with this area, and then he’d have a major outburst. We needed a lot of refreshing as well as some creative ideas (different collars, attention-​getting techniques, etc.). These guys never gave up on my dog or me (and I’m certainly the more hopeless of the two in this area), and that was awesome.
— Dog park socialization: Based on my dog’s dislike of on-​leash dog encounters, I was pretty nervous about his first trip to the dog park. The entire event was painless and even enjoyable for all parties because this was one of our sessions. Shaleen and Matt showed us what to do before entering the park, what to look for/​do while there, and how to deal with other people and their dogs who are, well, less aware of how to behave in this environment.
Report Card:
I’ve now had my dog for a little over three months, and he is incredible; that is completely due to the intervention of his trainers from K-​Nine Kingdom. He goes everywhere with me, and though he gets a lot of attention for being remarkably handsome, the number one comment he receives has to do with his excellent behavior.
When your dog is well-​trained — and you are, too — both of you live a much happier existence; K-​Nine Kingdom will bring you to it in a way that you will love. You can tell that they genuinely care about your dog (I think Shaleen spent almost our whole two-​hour consultation on the floor rubbing my dog’s belly) and that they really want you to understand and accept your role in your dog’s training and happiness. They are not afraid to let you know when you can improve your methods, and they are always there and ready to give you tips on how to fix any issues that arise. I have grown to trust their judgment about my dog implicitly, and I know that they truly care about his well-​being and success.
Clearly, I have had a great experience with these guys, and I have recommended them to all of the people who compliment my dog’s behavior as well as every dog owner I encounter. Call them today!

Shaleen is absolutely amazing. I sent my 3 year old very stubborn husky to her doggy boot camp. I hoped to get him back well trained but I knew that was a high expectation for an adult dog with no training previously. When he came back he was a different dog! So obedient and respectful and a great listener. I can now enjoy a walk with him without him pulling on the leash and dragging me all over the place. i use their dog boarding service regularly when I go out of town. I used to use a different boarding service. When I would take my dog, Katsu, to the other service, she would go there frightened and come back seeming depressed. When I would take her to stay with Shaleen, she would go there excited and come home excited. It makes such a difference when Katsu is treated like family. I no longer worry if my dog is being taken care of. My mind is put at ease when I am away.

Shaleen is the best knew exactly what kind of training was best for my puppy witch was boot camp. My little Roxy was gone for 3 and a half weeks and came back a completely different dog. Before she was sweet, hyper, and jumpy. After only 3 weeks she came back calm and very well mannered. She sleeps in her crate and stays inside even if the door is open, can watch a movie with her sitting or laying down, ad just all the basics. I wouldn’t trust any one else with my dog and wouldn’t go anywhere else for any kind of training. Thank you so much Shaleen I know my family, my self and Roxy are so much happier now.

We’ve used Shaleen twice for bootcamp for 2 different vizslas. Our first dog we sent when she was a puppy, and she was wonderful when she returned. Most recently, we sent our 4 year old viszla to Shaleen. We were having issues with fear aggression, and she came back a much happier, more confident dog. We were never able to get her to lay down on command, and Shaleen instilled that in her which has been a HUGE help to us. Even a neighbor noticed Gigi’s new confident demeanor. Thank you to Shaleen! I highly recommend this company and service! I have two crazy big dogs and have tried several trainers, boarders and dog walking services and not been able to get much relief. I was walking my dogs separately, so having to take many walks and shorter walks because they were too difficult to manage together. I could never leave town.
I sent my dogs to boot camp for training and my life has changed a result of the effective training. She spend time with me to teach me but had done such a good job with them that it was a breeze for me to pick up and the training stuck. My dogs and I are much happier. We can take long walks all together and no pulling. I can have company over now since they will sit and stay and not jump all over my guests
Shaleen is not only wonderful with my animals, she is very professional and responsive. She has a key to my place and helps me as needed when I go out of town by boarding my pups and with dog walking when my schedule is too busy to get them the exercise they need. He demeanor is wonderful, the dogs love her and I haven’t been this comfortable with anyone dealing with them.
