We have been patients for years and we love that the office is a FAMILY business. The office staff is wonderful and both doctors are fantastic!

Dr. Hutter and his staff are very helpful, friendly and go above and beyond the scope of meeting the patients needs. This is the first time I have gone to Dr. Hutter’s office and am totally pleased with the exam and service. Dr. Hutter did several eye tests that had never been done before. With these additional test, my eyesight has never been so great. I wear contacts and a new prescription was needed. They ordered my contacts, which should have been there in 5 days. I was leaving on vacation, the contacts had not arrived and the front office did everything to get my prescription. The supplier had made a mistake, they arranged to have part of my order shipped to my hotel while on vacation. The front office called to make sure I had received them. When I said no, Teresa stayed over to make sure that I received them. I have never had such wonderful and caring service.

Well, as you can see if you’re reading the other reviews, all (but one) give Dr. Hutter AND the staff at Cypress Optometry an excellent 5-​STAR rating. I don’t know what more to say about him and his front-​office staff other than they are SO professional, coupled with a great sense of humor. If you appreciate humor and display it yourself, they will kindly reciprocate. If not, their demeanor can be as serious as you’d like. Another good aspect is that they are sensitive to your circumstances and compassionate as well. I’ve been a loyal customer FOR MANY YEARS and I have no desire to go elsewhere. Another thing as mentioned in one of the other reviews, they keep up with the latest frame designs. You can walk outta there looking «so sassy» or like an accountant if that’s your pleasure.
Obviously the one dissenting reviewer had a bad experience, but I can tell you this is not the norm for their practice AT ALL. If you live in the area, by all means give them a try. I think you’ll be very happy with your experience AND the results.

Nice people but not competent. The will be very friendly and try to be helpful while giving bad prescriptions, losing orders, mis-​ordering and charging more than the original estimate. If you do go, get everything in writing, don’t expect it to be right the first time and always pick Dr. Nakabayashi NOT Dr. Hutter.

Our family has been going to Dr. Hutter for years. He is always friendly and helpful. We may not have seen him for awhile and he always remembers what we spoke about last time.
I really like the glasses that they carry, wide variety of brands and Michelle (Office Manager) is great, always tells me the truth about how they look. I really trust them. We have bought so many pairs of glasses over the years and their always helpful when they need repaired or adjusted.
We trust our eyes with Dr. Hutter and were happy with the care they provide.

Dr. Hutter is very friendly and patient! He explains everything about your eye and he has some pretty cool technology at his office. The front desk ladies are very kind too. I will definitely go back to his office as long as my insurance allows me to :)

I can’t give Dr Ralph enough stars! I brought my 4year old to Dr Ralph for an eye test, he was so patient and fun with him! I loved his personality and the time he spent with my son.

I give this place an A for awesome, staff is very prompt, fast, no wait time, and dr. Ralph Hutter is outstanding dr, knows his stuff, and does not beat around e bush. Thanks for excellent dr visit today.

I haven’t been here since I got my glasses two years ago, but I decided to go in today because I found my glasses slightly crushed and so loose at the hinges. Somebody had sat on them at my family party the day before. I’m blind as a bat, have had glasses since high school, and I don’t know how I would function without them. My mom believes contacts are the devil and that they will somehow get lost in your eye and make you blind. I’ve tried to reassure her time and time again, but she says «stick with the glasses, kid»
Anyways the staff here is what gives this place 5 stars. 2 years ago Dr. Joy Nakabayashi helped me out with my prescription and she was such a lovely and kind person. Michelle, I believe that’s her name, dark haired lady in the front desk is such a sweetheart. I came in today to fix my broken glasses, I called ahead of time to ask if they had repair services and she said that they can repair glasses, but it will depend on how damaged the glasses are.
I went out of the door praying I wouldn’t have to get new frames because of how much it would cost me. The life I want to live is not in my budget right now so I am not about to pay $ 250-​$ 300 for designer glasses that I love. I wasn’t ready for that kind of commitment yet. She tried her best to fix it even though I bought the frames somewhere else. She told me of my options: 1) go back to wherever I bought the frames and see if the warranty is still effective 2) she really didn’t give me a second option she just took a look at my glasses and told me to give her some time to see if she can fix it
5 minutes later… TA DAH! Glasses look brand new! It was like it was never broken. I asked her how much it would cost and she said, «Don’t worry about it!»
I was speechless. I thanked her countless times before I went out and let me tell you I was one happy camper.

Dr. Hutter and his staff are the best. My family and I are going though some rough times right now. We talked with Dr. Hutter and he was able to help us. Dr. Hutter recommended some great contacts and we got some stylish glasses at a fair price. We never have to wait for an exam and the waiting room is kid friendly. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about insurance plans. Go to see this this Doctor!

My family has been going here for years. Love Dr. Hutter and his staff, especially Michelle. When I had ‘issues’ moving into progressive lenses they were kind and patient with me. My daughter is always in need of something. They have come through every time. Whether it is a prescription faxed to a local doctor while she was away at college or saving the day by giving her a spare lense, when her last contact lense ripped the morning of a friend’s wedding. The service is amazing.

BEST IS THE lady at the front who can adjust so i am without pain despite being lopsided in the head

So helpful! I needed some prescription lenses placed into a new frame and they made the process so easy. I was able to drop them off, have the lenses placed beautifully in the frame, and definitely love my shades now. Everyone was pleasant and helped me out with a smile on their face and had the whole thing done within just a few hours. Definitely recommended, will definitely go back.

I’ve gone here for a few years now, and the service has been lacking recently. I have to agree with Fritz D., that Dr. Hutter is really nice and friendly and he DOES seem to be a great doctor, but «the front desk staff really kills it for this place.» Because the other doctor in this office is married to Dr. Hutter, when they go on family vacations, the place virtually shuts down. How can you get an eye exam when BOTH doctors are on vacation? I made an appointment for MONTHS ago, only to be called and told that the doctors will be on vacation and that I will need to re-​schedule. You know what, no problem– I totally understand… everyone needs to go on vacation sometime, and because my exam is not an emergency, I was fine with re-​scheduling, so I made an appointment for about 5 weeks later. SO, 5 weeks later, I show up for my appointment (THAT I TOOK THE DAY OFF OF WORK TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND WITHOUT MY THREE KIDS WITH ME) — and guess what… the doctors (BOTH OF THEM) are on vacation AGAIN! The girl at the front desk seems surprised and confused when she sees me walk in and announce that I am there for my 9am appointment. Instead of immediately letting me know that there has been a mistake and that the doctors aren’t there, she and another employee whisper in the back and worriedly check the computer together for 10 minutes before telling me that the doctors are on vacation and they «tried to call all the patients». TRIED!!! When I let them know that this is the second time that the doctors have been on vacation for my appointment, her response was «Well, it’s just hit and miss — we schedule appointments in advance and HOPE that the doctors will be here.» REALLY? Well, my choice of optometry care is not going to be hit and miss. I will not be returning to Dr. Hutter, unfortunately, even though I really like him… the way they run their business just isn’t going to work for our familly.

those two Unilocalers really did me wrong.
i’m trying really hard to like this place, but they keep falling short.
first of all, they keep calling me «mister,» when i’m clearly not.
second of all, they can’t get my name straight.
third, i’ve gone in three times already and they can’t seem to recognize or remember me AT ALL.
fourth, i was told they close at 7:00, which led me to believe it would be no problem to swing by after work … but they close at 7:00 ONLY ON TUESDAYS.
our conversation went something like this:
«your lens should be in by the end of the week.»
«what time do you close?»
«we stay open until 7:00.»
«great. so i can swing by after work.»
last time i checked, tuesday was not at the end of the week.
so i’ve had to call in sick from work twice already. (they don’t do the lens «training classes» on weekends either)
i can’t believe i had such a bad experience here.
i really was hoping my visit would be as *wonderful* as the previous Unilocalers.
dr. hutter is really nice and friendly. he seems to know what he’s doing. (but what do i know, this is my first optometrist)
and sarah is competent and friendly as well. the front desk staff really kills it for this place. if it was just dr. hutter, sarah, and a halfway competent receptionist, i’d probably give this place 4 stars.
i don’t have my contacts yet, and no one seems to care. i’m waiting for them to call me and tell me they’re ready, but they haven’t. it’s been over two months, by the way.

A great place for eye exams and glasses. Good selection of stylish frames for any budget.
My previous Optometrist was very good but had a lousy staff. So many screw-​ups and bad customer service on the part of the support staff, I just stopped going.
Fast forward to the present: I always get taken care of very well by Dr. Hutter and every member of the staff! My wife and son go for our annual exams and we are all very pleased with this office.
Things get explained, I’m given options, I can make an informed decision and they help me picking out frames and are nice to all the patients. Sometimes I’ve gotten frames that were covered under insurance (reading) other times I splurge and go a couple hundred over what’s covered because they have some really cool frames.
FYI they are closed Wed. and Sunday.

This place is great. The staff is friendly and honest. They helped me with my insurance and helped picked a pair of glasses that look fabulous. They carry Lafont frames which I LOVE! There funky but not too crazy and they look nothing like anything eles. I get so many complements from my glasses. It’s a must see. You need to make an appointment to get in and there closed Wed and Sun. You need to make an appointment for the exam but if you just wanted to look at the frames you can go in whenever there open.
