Cute gift items with lots of fun sayings at this local Dade City Shop. They also have items to do some painting projects at home. There are many unique items that were interesting to check out. This store is in the middle of downtown Dade City which makes it perfect when shopping around.

Admittedly, I’m not much into owning antiques, but I sure as hell love to gander at ‘em! This brought La Chica and I into Magnolia House, where we were promptly greeted by someone who should be the spokeswoman for all things Dade City. We were informed about antique shows, kumquat festivals, blueberries, etc. It was great. Before stopping in here, we were in some other antique shop around the corner, and the woman in there was less friendly and only wanted to talk prices. So Magnolia House is where’s it at as far as I’m concerned. So we walked around, looked at old stuff, and decided on buying some locally-made blueberry soap and lotion. We noticed they had some«buy one get one free» wine deals, but they didn’t have any local brands, so we thumbed our nose at the deal. All-in-all, very cool place and extremely friendly staff.

When you are re-doing your house or settling into a new place or just need a new object to rejuvenate a room, you want someone hip who can help you decorate in a rustic, shabby, chic, country sort of way. Ask Johnnie for advice with color schemes, object placement or rearrangement, bringing a personal touch to your room and she will work with you till it all fits into place. She has endless places to tap for inspiration(blogs, pinterest, magazines) and will create something that makes you happy for years. Of course you will think of other rooms that need help so you will come back to her for more advice. She has helped me decorate many nooks and crannies and rooms in my place and I shop in the store for gifts every month(sometimes more). Her wares and hand created utilitarian art/decorations can apply to any age group and the price is very right. Her store looks like it is right out of the pages of Country Living, Better Homes and Gardens, American Folk Magazine, etc. Go see Johnnie!
