Great food. Great drinks. Great derive. Jeremy is awesome! Love the 5 dollar margaritas. It is a very chill spot to just sit back and relax

Come here twice a week for the $ 5 margz and never regret it! Not only are the drinks awesome but so it the food, definitely not your regular gross bar food… but more than anything what makes this a great joint is the owner, Jeremy, he is the best! Would recommend Tavern to anyone but especially to the older student crowd in Dahlonega that want to kick back and avoid the Freshman at Johnny Bs.

I’m a Dahlonega native and veteran of the USAF. This place is great to come to, use the wifi, chat with the owner, and drink a scotch. Nice hole in the wall Right On The Square

Just the owner there on Fiday night. When a few people walked in he asked other new regular customers to take orders while he cooked in the back. Don’t go if you’re not in the mood for informal unprofessional service. Very limited menu without burgers… hello? Tavern in the name with no burger and fries? WTF? I will try I one more time. I am local and excited for another option for a drink after work. Good food. Great potato salad and slaw. The hooch(sandwich) was really simple and really freakin good!

Great people and exceptional service. Food would be better if they were allowed to have a frier. Fire Marshall doesn’t allow it.

For those looking for a quiet place to eat with a large selection of fine food, you’ve come to the wrong place. This is a tavern… That is just starting out. The 1st thing I look for in a tavern is a good beer selection… It certainly has that. Their rotating taps are always kept up to date with the current season. The 2nd thing I look for is the environment… It’s got a good one. The Tavern is in a building with limited space, they’ve made do with what they have, and I believe they’ve done a great job at that. 3rd, the crowd that it draws in… It’s mainly one demographic, and that demo is Greek life. I’m not a part of that culture, but I respect it and love being able to spend time with those guys over a good glass of conversation. 4th, the food… Yes, it isn’t the best selection of food in town. HOWEVER, I don’t come there to eat, I come there to talk, drink, and snack. Thus, I always get the pretzel w/beer cheese or the bratwursts and am NEVER disappointed. They don’t really have a kitchen, so I’d say they’re doing a pretty good job. As I said before, know what you’re looking for before you come here. If you like the things that I listed in order, than check it out. I think you’ll be pleased.

Best beer selection in town. Much better atmosphere than some of the other«dive» bars in Dahlonega. Welcoming staff and good prices. Patio is a great place to enjoy a drink on a summer night. Will be back!

First time back in a couple of months, and I must say this place is getting nothing but better! Very seldom do you see Strong Bow on tap, but they have it! Almost impossible to find, and my wife loves it. I personally loved the Mother Earth Weeping Willow«Wit» beer. There was a new addition since we were there in November… Burgers. I tried the BBQ, bacon and cheddar burger which was incredible, as was«The Hooch» which my wife tried for a second time. We both love the potato salad(tastes like a loaded baked potato) and the chicken enchilada soup was amazing! Very impressive little Tavern. Just off the square. Worth the time to look for it

I truly want to see this place succeed but they will need to make changes if they are going to compete with all the great places to eat on and around the square. Almost positive none of the dishes my husband and I had(chili and chili burger) were cooked fresh or even made on premises. Chili came from a can or bag and cost over $ 6. The burger resembled school cafeteria served with two sides. Options included potato salad(resembled Publix red potato salad) coleslaw, chips, or soup, all this for just under $ 10. I don’t think the burger was cooked on a grill but instead may have been precooked and warmed in a toaster oven. Now, I realize not all establishments have the equipment to prepare fresh food but if you must use pre-made, prices need to be adjusted. I can pay that same amount at any number of restaurants within feet of this establishment and the food would be fresh and made in their kitchen.

Great place. We’ve been twice, the day it opened and the Friday afternoon Thanksgiving. Both times we sat at the bar and enjoyed talking with the owners. As mentioned in other reviews, great location a few steps from the square and a nice selection of beers.
