The Fudge Factory

The Factory has an excellent location downtown right across from the museum and the visitor center. Grab some fudge and walk around town looking at all the shops. It always seems packed in here. But the service is great and they are glad to give you samples galore. And I might add that they are generous with their samples. They also don’t mind selling you any size of fudge you want. For example, I didn’t want the full ¼ pound tranche and they were just fine with selling me a smaller portion. Coolio. My favorite flavor was the butter brittle fudge. Yum! Its like butter pecan with a brittle on the bottom and it is sooooooo delish! But I wasn’t a fan of any of the chocolate fudge. That’s crazy speak. If you are a fudge house the chocolate has to be divine. I’ll just have to continue my search for the best chocolate fudge elsewhere. Nice spot, though.

Sooooo sooo good, and I don’t even like fudge. A quaint little town right at the base of the Mountains. The employees are young, and calm (even when overwhelmed with customers). The fudge is a total treat and the chocolate is delicious. We got a couple of confections and were not disappointed. The chocolate covered orange strips were among my favorite. They are generous in their sampling. A positive memory of our trips to the mountain. Lots of street parking, located in the corner of a cute little square.

Really, really, really good.

EXPENSIVE BUT DELICIOUS!
Normally, I would not look twice at a store with fudge in the name because I don’t like fudge and I don’t even like looking at fudge. However, as someone exited this shop, I recall asking if the shop carried more than just fudge. After being told yes they did, I decided to check it out for myself. The shop was busy and understaffed. One customer was purchasing quite a few items and talking incessantly so we just decided to step outside for a few minutes. After re-​entering the shop, we realized that the customer had left and more help was available.
I decided to try the turtles, although turtles are normally too rich for me, these were the only items of interest so I chose 2 pecan and 2 cashew turtles, ($ 7 total). I knew that my husband would eat them if they proved to be too sweet and rich.
Sorry Daddy not today! These bites were incredible and unlike any other fine chocolates that I have had. The caramel was very soft and just melted in my mouth with a rich taste of smooth brown butter. They were absolutely and definitely worth the money paid. On the other hand, they are dangerous because you just can’t stop eating them. They never even made it to the car!
Oh yeah, I will definitely be back for more! Highly recommended!

Always the best fudge. I also love the chocolate covered espresso beans. The staff is always very helpful and courteous.
I received a box of mixed fudge for Christmas and was in heaven!

Oh yum, dark chocolate and salted caramel covered pretzels. Awesome fudge, amazing peanut brittle (crisp, not hard), and eye candy (dang, the guys in Dahlonega are cute!). Everything we tried was really good. I think we bought one of everything. Oh, the turtle which normally I wouldn’t bother eating, was the best thing I had. It tasted like butter.

Good fudge, and interesting flavors. I came into this place with the intention of only trying samples. I walked out of the store with half a pound of fudge. They allow you to mix and match flavors. My fiancée and I split 4 different flavors. All come highly recommended they were; maple, banana, heath bar crunch (I forget the name, but that’s what was in it), and chocolate vanilla peanut butter. I wish we lived closer, I’d come back for fudge.

The Fudge Factory has so much to choose from throughout the store. I am a huge sucker for mint and bought some delicious mint-​flavored fudge. My more intriguing purchase was the pumpkin pie fudge. Awesome!
I tried to not be a giant pig and just eat all of it out of the bag as we exited. I succeeded, but it was tough. I would say that my purchases made it almost three days. How’s that for self-​restraint?
My wife went to North Georgia College and brought me to Dahlonega to see the sights. I had a great time as we hit the gold museum, shops, and several wineries. My fudge experience rivals many of the wonderful attractions in the area. It is really good.
Make sure to hit the Fudge Factory when you are in Dahlonega. They will let you sample the fudge and make sure that you take away an amazing souvenir (that you will probably consume before you get home).

Best Fudge we have found and we have been in 48 states, missed R. I and HI. We are in Cumming now and more than a few times we have driven to Dahlonega just to get some fudge !!! Lots of other things to do in Dahlonega while there but visit the Fudge Factory First !!!

the best fudge i’ve ever had. hands down. We had gone to helen a day prior, and the fudge was horrible. so hard i couldnt eat it. so we stopped in here during our visit, and was so happy to have good service and good fudge. it was AMAZING. i had chocolate PB and maple. I came back in the fall and tried the Pumpkin Pie fudge — i think my mouth had a food gasm. OMG. GET IT. And the tiger fudge… just. do it.
I LOVE this place. Really sweet service, great fudge (everything is good) and it’s just so cute in there.

Hydrogenated oil and artificial vanilla. A periodic treat, but given the price — not so often. Good maple sugar praline. Nothing there too bad, nothing spectacular.

Some of the best fudge that I’ve ever had. It’s a bit pricey, but no worse than similar shops. It’s generally worth it. I highly suggest the pumpkin pie fudge in the fall. Their Brownies are also delicious and fairly inexpensive.

Good selection of fudge and confectionary. Friendly service. Everything tasted fine, but nothing extraordinary.

Mmmm I’m drooling just thinking about their chocolate covered strawberries & fresh made turtles gazing at you though the window. (or is that me at them?) hmmm either way this is a must stop for all local & non-​local-​ians Not a big fan of fudge, but theirs seems to be the creamiest. I tend to learn towards their hand dipped concoctions as in the strawberries or cherries… Mmmm the truffles aren’t bad either. ;)

Pralines to die for! Their fudge is really good too. They offer other sugary treats as well that are appealing to the eye!
However, I didn’t find the staff to be overly helpful or friendly. I also felt that the prices were a bit high. For those two reasons I haven’t made my way back in there.

I come here after lunch and dinner when in Dahlonega (you can always sample all you want) and always bring some back home with me, you can freeze their fudge and it will last for a very long time, depending on the time of the year they have special flavors, my favorite being the pumpkin fudge… so yummy!!!
If you are watching your figure they carry a huge selection of sugar free chocolate that is surprisingly great. This place has it all, happy service, great products and it just brings you back in time.

I love autumn for various reasons: the rich, beautiful leaves; the crisp air; Halloween; CARAMEL APPLES. The Fudge Factory on the Dahlonega square carries these seasonal treats when fall hits, giving me a reason to indulge in a caramel-​dipped apple in the spirit of fall – and to stock up on fudge in general.
My favorite fudge flavor is Tiger Butter, although the last time I purchased a box of it, I noticed that peanut butter had been added to the recipe. I remember Tiger Butter fudge always containing only chocolate and sinful vanilla-​y cream. Either way, I ate a fourth of a pound of it in one sitting and collapsed on the couch.

I’ve been eating here since 1988 and my mouth is watering in my Washington DC cubicle just thinking about it. Family mini-​vacations to hike in the mountains and wander Dahlonega for the day always involved a stop at the Fudge Factory, where we’d bring home a few pounds of various flavors. To this day, the best I’ve had — though I think my sweet tooth is less sweet as I’ve gotten older. I’m happy to see they ship now —
. I think the store still carries flavors you can’t buy online, like chocolate mint.

Quaint towns always seem to have a fudge shop involved. And this is Dahlonega’s. Staffed by excited college students eager to help you out with your sweeet purchases, my impromptu stop here left me with a box full of fudge! There’s a huge sugar free section, and pretty much every other treat in here is the kind of thing your dentist warns you about.. . chocolate covered pretzels.. .rice krispy treats dipped in, well, chocolate.. .and enough fudge flavors to make Willy Wonka jealous.
