The food was tasty… the service was poor. Our server took forever to get our food (which had been sitting out for about 10 minutes)!! Our waters never got refilled, which was pretty irritating because our food was pretty spicy. On top of all this, it took our server 15 minutes to finally give us our check. Mind you, there were only 3 tables at the restaurant, and it was during the dinner hours.

I would give it zero stars actually, when it first came I really enjoyed the food, when I didn’t have the time too Cooke but now this place is a joke! my samosas were badly burnt, no meat whatsoever on the oxtail, an the «sauce «was obviously just thrown together, I’m really disappointed but what do I aspect from a place with no working a/​c am there working are sweating , it’s like America’s finest sweatshop well today was my last straw,

Great place — amazing discovery. Authentic, friendly service, tasty and healthy food.
Wonderful for a casual dinner. Don’t go looking for fancy ambiance. This is minimalistic and nice.

The Cabbage is AMAZING & the Ugali is just the right texture. Bar Service is good & AFFORDABLE PRICES.

It sits in a strip-​mall like parking lot behind Valero off the Tollway & Haverwood. .there’s a sign with the establishment’s name but I don’t believe it’s the illuminated kind, so the place can be easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. The glass window /​wall front is blacked out so the place looks closed at night, with the exception of the «open «sign that flashes blue and red.
I walked in and the place immediately identified with how I would envision an East African restaurant. There was a good amount of people dining and talking at tables, but the bar area had the most patrons.
I stood at the podium by the front door, helped myself to a menu, and began looking it over. I wanted a beef dish.
After a few minutes, no one greeted me — no one came by to see if I wanted to dine in or take out. I eyed the bar area, but there was no opening between the people sitting on either side — I walked over once one of the women moved so that I could tell the bartender my order; before I could do so, the woman who had moved from the stool motioned to take my order .
The wait wasn’t long. Everyone was in their own world it seemed. I was disappointed they were out of plaintains, but I examined my beef stir fry with cabbage and creamed spinach before leaving — I was pleased with the appearance. The taste was flavorful, and the price was only $ 10.81 after tax. I’ll eat from here again.

Great food. Can’t say enough about it. Come here any chance I can. Friendly owner and staff. Service can be a little slow depending on the day but the food is worth it.

Just moved to Dallas, so nothing is unpacked! Decided to try this neighborhood restaurant. What a find! The food is from Kenya and delicious. We shared two appetizers, Kenya sausage and samosas. Both were excellent. We had a whole tilapia fried with wonderful crispy skin and delectable spices. We had a lovely little salad and Kenyan rice to go with this. The rice had a subtle cinnamon flavor, not really spicy.
If I had a complaint, it was that the food was not spicy enough, even though they advertise it as spicy, Maybe they looked at this white boy and decided I couldn’t take it. We’ll work on that next time.
HINT: we only ordered I entrée, with a couple of appetizers and the sides, that was enough for two adults.
Will definitely go back.

Haven’t been in a while. The last time I went the Suya wasn’t so good. And it was hot. Guess AC was broke. Can’t have that in TX. Lol

I have no idea why I kept postponing my visit, living so close to it. Now that I moved, I finally went and was so pleased.
First visit I ate some dishes to try. Samosas are incredible! Made with seems to me to be phyllo dough, flaky and spicy. Beef, chicken or vegetarian, all are absolutely delicious. Then I had a beef skewer and sausage, both very well seasoned. There is a habanero sauce that comes with it. Although a popular Mexican chili pepper, their version is African, with Kenyan spices in it. Not too hot but excellent.
Second visit was with a group of foodies. The owner (Mumbi) was so accommodating and nice! Because we were in a large group, about 30 people, she suggested a buffet so we could try more dishes. We had fried plantains, coconut rice, Pilaf rice (from Zanzibar), fried yucca, oxtail, beef stew, fufu and other dishes. Oh my!!! So well made, home style food. Everybody in the group loved it and want to come back! The owner graciously offer some samples of West African food too. Really nice of her.
Service was very good. They did served the appetizers individually (samosas, African kabobs, aloca) which was a nice touch.
We will be back for sure and I recommend for anyone who wants to try something different and yummy! Now that I know, I will stop by more often!

The Story: London Boy (same London boy from Finger Licking story), came to visit Dallas. So it was only right for us to try an African joint here. Of course we were comparing Houston’s African joint, but we were quite surprised how good this place was.
The Food: The menu actually had two vegetarian dishes for me (yay!) so they get a star for that! :) No bean pudding, but now I have a reason to go back to Houston.
The Vibe: social & loud, but nice.
The Service: Pleasant, polite, and kind.
The Not So Great: The wait time is super long, I’m starving and My stomach is totally yelling at me for not feeding it in a timely matter. 30 minutes to wait for my carry out food, yeah I was a grump.
I’m rating it 3 stars only because it felt like I waited a year and a day for my take out meal… even though it was only 30 minutes.
Other than that, I’d definitely go back! :)

Food quality: Food quality is good. Ingredients taste fresh and authentic. The fried items were a bit on the greasy side, but did not had the unpleasant taste of grease. Lots of herbs and spices used!
Food presentation: Presentation is simple and authentic. Good use of color (especially in meat dishes with all the different herbs and spices).
Appearance of restaurant: Restaurant looks, smells and feel authentic. It is «hole in the wall» and the atmosphere is not fancy or intimate, but pleasant enough for a quick and tasty lunch or dinner.
Service: I had a particular situation when I went. The waiter that took our order forgot to enter it in the «system» and for this we waited for around a full hour for food. He did not notice that our order was missing until like around 45 mins after originally taking it, after I kept staring him down to try and catch his eyes (he did not come to the table once). After what it seemed like an eternity, when our eyes met, he apparently realized what he had done and came to our table to apologize, admit his mistake and re-​enter our order. I was extremely mad at this point, but I know from firsthand experience that it takes courage to admit you forgot to enter an order to a customer, and although he should have offered a discount or free appetizer to calm us, his way of handling it was ok, so it sort of calmed me down. After we received our food, everything else was great and the food was sort of worth the wait.
Value: Prices here are good and the food portions are great, so good value for the price. Expect to pay around $ 15 per person for a meal and shared appetizer.
In general: Good place to come to try African food. If you get a good waiter, you will have a good time and meal.

Came to Afrika Fusion, because I moved away from Irving and couldn’t go to African Village anymore. Well, I have to say I was not very happy. The service as mentioned is terrible here, but most ethnic places have terrible service. I was more annoyed about the length of time it took to heat up some soup (because it is all definitely pre made) and microwave some fufu! I ordered, it wasn’t busy, and yet I still waited 30+ min for my TOGO food to be ready.
I think what made the experience really unsettling for me, is that I ordered the beef stew ($ 8-​$ 9) and the ogbono soup ($ 14!). When I got them home, the beef stew was a great portion, and tasted pretty good. My Ogbono (which is my favorite) was only half full in the carton, and I’d just paid 14 bucks for it. Very unhappy. At African Village I could have gotten 3 full cartons of soup, with fufu included for the price I just paid for two. I will be hunting around for other African places to eat (specifically Nigerian) If anyone knows of any, please email me!

Afrika Fusion is one of a kind. The prices are great $ 50 for 3 with starters, entrees and drinks. The alloco/​gonja was too crispy and as the manager made the rounds she had another order made for us just to make sure we were satisfied. This is a nice establishment; they moved to the opposite corner; shielded from the highway noise by the gas station but the large windows give a really open feeling. The bathrooms were really clean & smelled really good. The only downside is that they are a wee bit to informal; they need to get a uniform just to make it more appealing.

The restaurant is tucked in a shopping center with blacked out windows which gives it the wrong impression. Although the exterior was a little intimidating the interior was relaxed.
Inside, the dining area is small, clean and nicely decorated. A large or even a medium sized group would feel cramped. I went on a Friday night and there were about 8 – 10 people dining.
All the entrees I wanted to try were sold out. To be honest I don’t remember the name of them but there were dishes that had goat and rice in them.
I chose the sausage and chips instead and was disappointed. The chips were very greasy, thinly sliced french fries prepared Kenyan style which the waitress described to me as crispy. Someone forgot to tell the cook because it was an oily mess. The sausages were suppose to be Kenya’s answer to breakfast sausage. It was gross! I don’t know how it managed to taste gamey and bland at the same time but it did. I had two bites and I was done.
I may give the place a second try because the sold out items sounded tasty. If you go just stay away from the sausage and chips.

Very tasty and well made food, have been there several times now and I find the service excellent the premises clean. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic experience. !!!
