Balance Through Massage

Christopher is without a doubt the best massage therapist in Dallas. I first went to him about five years ago with troubles in my neck and shoulders (desk job) and in my calf (weekend half-​marathoner). The knots he worked out in my calf have never come back, even through all the cycling and dancing I do!
Christopher is always professional and polite, and cares about his clients’ needs. His studio is clean and inviting. I cannot recommend his services enough!

Chris really knows his stuff. I have never been to a more educated and truly helpful massage therapist. He not only stretched me out and un-​knotted me, he showed me some stretches I could do on my own to help my lower back/​hip pain. I will definitely return in the future. Chris made me feel comfortable and at ease. The room was inviting, the scents were amazing, and my feet felt minty fresh all day. A really great experience. I told all my bartender friends about this place. Hopefully they go.

Small crowded parking lot and I feel as if the lady who I talked to was a racist (Patty). She seems to not like her upstairs roommates either. One of the men from upstairs came down and said hi to her while they walked on through and she gave them a scolding look.

Excellent massage parlor. I occasionally worried about the pain in my back and I was advised to look like a massage here. After a few sessions I began to feel less pain. I’ll go through the entire course, I hope it will help get rid of the pain. At the masseur just magic hands.

Christopher was absolutely amazing at knowing what kind of massage I needed– I left feeling 100% refreshed and relaxed. Great music and aromatherapy. I felt totally comfortable and at home. Loved the convenient online booking system too. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Christopher’s incredibly gentle and empathetic nature makes him an easy person to open up to and connect with, in general. This coupled with his amazing skills and strength make him a phenomenal massage therapist. The man has supernatural upper body strength, he’s like a real-​life Popeye. At one point during our session, he had my entire upper body lifted off the table as though I weighed nothing.
His ability to find the places in which a body stores tension is uncanny. One session with him, and you’ll probably be like me — booking your next one before you can even make it out the door. He’s simply the best.

It’s amazing how accustomed we become to prolonged pain, how quickly that which is constant becomes normal. It wasn’t until I started seeing Christopher Anglin at Balance Through Massage that I realized it’s not normal to hurt — and it’s not necessary.
I was really nervous before my first appointment. I had never had a deep tissue massage, and the idea of being nude underneath a thin cotton sheet while someone I had just met rubbed his hands all over me sounded intimidatingly intimate at best, and like a bad one night stand at worst. But I had started having nightly back spasms and promised myself I’d look into massage before pain meds, so there was no turning back. As soon as I shook Christopher’s hand for the first time, all those fears washed away. We spent at least 30 minutes talking about my back pain before the massage even began, and he didn’t just hear what I had to say — he really listened to me. He even took another half hour after the massage was over to show me exercises I could do to consciously correct my posture and stretch my muscles throughout the day.

His intense focus on the breathing and reactions of his client allow him to apply an effective amount of pressure without ever actually inflicting pain. I like to tell him that he knows how to make a person ‘hurt so good.‘
I have been back to see Christopher many times since that first session, and our client/​therapist relationship has become a friendship. Our sessions are both physically and psychically healing and restorative for me. The fresh lavender smell of the massage table sheets, the soft, soothing soundtrack he always plays, the calm environment of the room itself — I can’t imagine a more relaxing experience. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve solved a problem or come up with a great concept while on his massage table, because he not only eases the tension from my body, but also from my mind. For days after a session with Christopher, I find myself sitting up straighter, carrying myself more regally, and reveling in the absence of back pain.
People weren’t meant for perpetual pain. It’s a very comforting and freeing thing to know, and I credit Christopher with teaching me this lesson. It’s a transformative gift that everyone deserves to give themselves. One session with him, and you’ll probably be like me — booking your next one before you can even make it out the door. He’s simply the best.

First thing to note — I have an «impossible» body to work on. I was very skeptical and very nervous when I first contacted Christopher at Balance Through Massage based on a few Unilocal reviews. I didn’t think a new massage therapist could really help me because my body is in quite bad shape, and I’ve been in constant pain since my freshman year of college. I’ve had massages before, and the therapists tried their best but could not manage to work the tension and knots out. I know due to health issues, I’ll never be completely free of pain, but every little bit helps!
Compare to other venues, this one is extremely relaxing. You’re not faced with bright lights and overdone forced tranquility-​simple, clean, professional, and very private are the best ways I can describe it. There are no products pushed on you for purchase in order to «replicate the experience» the way spas are frequently organized. Price points are very reasonable and are far less than prices at your typical spa. He took the time to get to know my issues and discuss the treatment options I had tried before we even went into the room. He asks detailed questions about injuries to make sure he’s providing your best experience possible. I don’t particularly like being nude, and I’ve had negative experiences with therapists who were not very considerate of modesty. Christopher takes extra caution to make sure you stay covered except for what is necessary for treatment.
Now for the massage, the best part! This massage is completely customizable based on his experience to achieve what you are looking for. He does not have cookie cutter menu massages. He even considered my allergies without me having to remind him when selecting oils to complement treatment. He also adjusts his personality during the massage based on what you need to feel relaxed. We actually talk nearly the whole time to help me relax, particularly during the more uncomfortable points when he’s working on a tough spot. I’m extremely ticklish — he works very well with this which is something I haven’t found in another therapist.
When I joke about being an impossible client to work on, there is a grain of truth. I’ve had two female therapists at high end spas completely give up on me and tell me that they did their best, and I walked out only 20% better. I’ve had other male therapists work on me for 90 minutes, and I would rate the success at about 40%. The therapist at my chiro’s office (I received massage complementary after an appointment) who is supposed to be the most amazing therapist you’ve ever had was around 45%. With Christopher, I leave each session with a success rate of 80% or higher with only a 60 minute session. I attribute this to skill, understanding my body, and the way he customizes treatment. Massage therapy is a process much like chiro, so you have to keep up with it for best results. Christopher’s technique and focus has helped my entire body, including my struggles with asthma. I didn’t think it was possible for massage to help relax my chest and back to the point that I could breathe better. This was a very pleasant surprise!
Christopher is a truly caring, encouraging business owner who is in touch with his clients and wants them to achieve their best life possible. He’s the only therapist I will allow to work on me because I know he puts his best work forward every time. I’ve never left unsatisfied, and he always sends a quick text to remind me to drink plenty of water afterwards. If I was in very severe pain, he’ll check on me the next day to see how I’m doing. I’ve never had such a wonderful experience with a therapist. If you’re skeptical, in pain, or have an «impossible» body to work on, give Christopher a try. I’m so glad that I did.

I have been to massage therapists for years and have had mediocre results at best. I took the recommendation to try Balance Through Massage from a friend. I feel foolish, to say the least, that I did not try them the moment it was recommended! Balance Through Massage is relaxing when you first walk in; you feel welcome right away and it is really nice leaving and not hearing all the Spa chatter. Christopher has great recommendations and listens to what I, as a person, need. After leaving each appointment, I feel great not just leaving but continuously through out my busy week. Best massage in Dallas! It’s taken me awhile to find the perfect therapist here, but I’ve finally succeeded. Deep tissue massage is a regular part of my health regimen. I immediately knew I was in good hands on my first visit. Christopher is not a newbie. I like his confidence and technique. Since he apparently has a loyal book of clients, you will probably need to schedule a few days in advance. I have, so I’m in (otherwise I would not have written this review and attracted competitors).

Balance Through Massage is everything I was looking for in a massage therapy service and more! It’s a high end massage experience with results — and, that’s NOT easy to find.
Trust me when I say this is the real deal. I’ve been to other massage therapists and I’ve been to many high end spas, as well — I’ve even had a massage in a cabana by the ocean in Hawaii… and Balance Through Massage beats ALL of those any day of the week!

When I was lucky enough to find Christopher about 8 years ago, I knew immediately that I had found the perfect massage therapist! (I had been getting massages on a regular basis for many years and had tried many different high end spas and independent therapists around the world– often leaving less than happy with the results and feeling like I had wasted my money.) However, I have always been 100% satisfied with my massages from Balance Through Massage.
It is rare to find a therapist that truly cares to provide the highest quality massage every time and is in tune with exactly what your body needs. Christopher consults with you to find out where your aches and pains are and intuitively knows the right amount of pressure to use. After every massage, I leave knowing that I will feel the positive results for several days. The attention to detail in providing a soothing environment at Balance Through Massage is a huge plus too! I During the massage on a heated table, Christopher will incorporate aromatherapy and warm/​cold towels and heating pads to also help with the relaxation. Perfect!!!
I have one more comment to add to my review. Over the years, I have typically only needed to get massages for basic stress relief and to relieve the aches and pains from daily life. When I was injured in an accident several months ago, I was instructed by my doctors to get massages on a regular basis to help with the pain and work out the soreness in my muscles from head to toe. Christopher’s talent as a therapist and the extra care provided during those massages have been a huge help in speeding up my recovery! I don’t know what I would have done without him.

I woke up with back pain one day and decided I needed a massage no matter what. I found Balance Through Massage on Unilocal,and it had better ratings than the other area spas, so I decided to try it. SO glad I did!
Christopher will consult with you beforehand to customize a massage that will feel and work best for your body. Like the other reviews said, your time does not start until your massage starts on the table. Where else can you get that?! If you want a 60 or 90 minute massage, you get the FULL time on the table!
The room is very relaxing, and I love the aromatherapy scents on the head rest to make breathing more enjoyable. You are truly paying for a great, self enhancing massage that you will continue to feel the next day. I’m definitely going to make this a monthly must-​do for my body!
