Good for small groups to drink, snack, and hang out but not for large Bday party. Hipster casual vibe and atmosphere. Cool patio area. $ 14 poutines, some meat boards, interesting menu items but wish some of the items had richer flavor. The beet salad was my favorite surprisingly with its golden yellow beets, tangy dressing, arugula, and great cheese served on a wooden board like most of its dishes. Attentive staff. Loud and chatty atmosphere. Not good for kids. Parking nearby is crazy but I was told they offer free valet.

What a delicious way to spend a Friday evening ORANYEVENING for that matter! First time in, sat at the bar, loud but good loud. The kind of loud you want in a pub, the kind that makes you lean in closer! The brew, cold! The bar staff, friendly! The menu TOPSHELF pub grub at the highest level! That’s a huge compliment BTW! The sausage board and cheese curds made my toes curl! Come! Eat, drink, it’s good!

First off, who ever is in charge of the drink menu needs a raise. I am all about whiskey bars, but the drinks on the menu here have yet to fail me. If you like whiskey, I encourage you to try the Notary. Anyways, the place itself is cool, concept of a butcher house and bar is great. Perfect for the direction that Greenville Avenue is going in. Now, for the food… where to start?! We have been in three or four times now and I think I have ordered something different each time and enjoyed every meal. Although, who doesn’t like Poutine? My girlfriend and I typically order to opposite things on the menu to make sure that we can try and little of everything, but my go-to would have to be the Pastrami on Rye and of course the Duck Poutine(which I will admit we have ordered two or three times now)! And don’t forget the ‘Boards for Sharing’. Kind of like an adult Lunchables… but AMAZING.

Blind Butcher was excellent! The service was great and the food was delicious! We started with the seasonal smash to drink, cheese curds, pork belly poutine and bacon brussels sprouts. Everything we had was very good and well definitely be back!

Amazing. Great food with a decent beer selection all at a reasonable price. The one reason that this page doesn’t have five stars is the food menu being a little short. The food seems so delicious and authentic to what they are striving for, it leaves me wanting to see what else they can do with it. I love how many craft beers they available boot on tap and bottled. Price is around six bucks for a serving. All of the apps are great and the effing poutine is the best in the city by far. Crispy fresh fries, rich delicious gravy that is plentiful so all the fries get some, the pork belly is crispy and tender. My goodness. I’ll be coming back soon for more indulgences but I do hope they bring some more variety to the table for eats.

My husband and I dined here for the first time last night. The menu was a bit overwhelming to us so we just turned ourselves over to our server, Aubree and had her surprise us. We wound up trying the Duck fries, pastrami rolls and sausage sampler. All were fantastic — especially the pastrami rolls! I enjoyed the Seasonal Smash from the bar. We wrapped up the evening with another recommendation from Aubree — the ice cream sandwich. Ice cream layered between a snickerdoodle, brownie and peanut butter cookie. Very good but messy. The cookies were very crispy and difficult to cut without launching them across the table. Overall great experience and fantastic service. Thanks for the recommendations, Aubree — they were spot on!

I visited the BB for the first time on an early Friday evening, at nearly 5:00, well before the dinner crowd made it in. It is the archetypal gastropub – dark, wooden, altogether unimpressive interior with an entire WALL of alcohol, but food good enough to have come from somewhere else. I ordered the ratatouille tower, and the waiter was right – it was fantastic! Given that this place’s gimmick is meat-meat-meat(and not necessarily the typically eaten parts…), I knew I was taking a risk with this dish. The eggplant was perfectly pan-fried, the goat cheese was just enought(not too much – I hate that!) and the sweet-ish marinara-chutney was the perfect compliment. My companion ordered the pastrami on rye, which he raved about(other than the somewhat bland chips). The only problem with the Butcher is that it seems to be trying so hard to be known for its unique(and somewhat bizzare…) meat dishes, that it might be unappetizing to some palates. Meat has been popular since mankind could catch it, but there’s a reason we haven’t spent our evolution trying to get at the marrow, ears and bone first…

We’ve been here twice now and I really like this place. The ambiance is relaxing and for the most part service has been good. The first time I had their tartare and really enjoyed it. The second time they were completely out which was a bit disappointing. However, I suggest the pastrami egg rolls if you love a good Reuben. The bone broth and the FBLT are absolutely worth trying especially if you’re into bacon and rich foods. I always appreciate their home made potato chips. The one thing I really don’t like about this place other than the busy location is the menu never says exactly what comes with items. For example, I ordered my FBLT and there was no indication it came with chips so I ordered a side and then when it arrived it had chips. Also, my boyfriend got the bangers and mash and when he added a bun it didn’t specify that it’d all be piled on the bun, sausage and mashed potatoes and all. Despite this, we’ll keep coming back. It’s a cute place with decent seating. The food is unique and definitely different from anything in the area.

I’ve been itching to check out the Blind Butcher for quite some time. When a friend wanted to celebrate his birthday at this restaurant, I was indeed excited to join. I was told pork and sausages were the main items to try here. A few words new to me was Poutine and Foie Gras. When called to set a reservation, we were told they only accepted reservations for large parties and that we had to call back to speak to the manager for this request. They did not have a table to accommodate our size of 15 but was able to pull aside an extra table. There’s complimentary valet parking across the street from the restaurant which is helpful because parking can be hard to find around this area depending on the day of the week. Inside the restaurant is veryyyy cozy and dark. It can get pretty loud since everyone is screaming to talk. I felt as though I was in a stock market work operation. I think I would return on a non busy day and also with a smaller group in order to really enjoy the ambiance. Initially I wanted to try the Pork Belly Poutine since this was highly recommended on Unilocal but I was told it can get a bit overwhelming since it’s fatty and the fries get soggy. My friend wanted to try it so I ordered something else we could all sample off. For my final review, I was really impress with their English Banger(sausage) with mashed potatoes and onion gravy. This dish became everyone’s favorite after a few bites. Forget about the pork; their sausages are delicious! I’m always craving for fries so we tried the Texas Poutine which is pulled pork over BBQ fries. Two thumbs up. I wasn’t a fan of the meat and cheese board because I wasn’t able to find one good cheese to pair off with the meat. But partially because I am new to the whole cheese/wine and dine style. I was looking for good pâté but theirs was so thick I thought it was pulled pork. I tried the Lamb Neck which was one of their special for the night. It was very tender and tasty. Definitely a shareable plate. The Pig Ears was mediocre. Taste too fatty and oily after a few. The Duck Foie Gras Sausage with Chutney was my second favorite dish. I think anything with sausage here is good really. Our night ended on a happy note after eating their dessert. I recommend saving room for the Chocolate Marrow Cake. Such a different concept in serving dessert but definitely worth indulging in. Overall, I am pleased with this restaurant and what they have to offer. Service was awesome especially for our big party. I will be back people! :)

Came here for a Friday night birthday dinner, pretty crowded, not that much seating similar to some of the other places in this area. Extremely loud and hard to hear. Staff is extremely knowledgable and friendly. Tons of alcohol choices at decent pricing. Since we had a good size group I was able to try a little of everything from cheese curds, fries, lamb neck, cheese boards, to various poutine dishes, as well as some type of chocolate marrow cake. I ordered the duck poutine and fiancé the pork belly version. I would say mine was pretty good but a little on the salty side, coming from a salt lover. Fiancé’s pork belly pieces were good but the sauce must have been extremely salty, she said she could barely eat it. Good spot worth a shot, maybe come any other time besides Friday night.

The placed was packed on a Sunday but we were able to find a seat in the back. The poutine with mushrooms, foie gras and egg was great as was the bangers and mash. My favorite was possibly the chips with goat cheese and duck pastrami. Couldn’t stop eating them.

Blind Butcher has been on our radar for a while, and we finally were able to give it a try! We went at 2 or 3PM before, but this place doesn’t actually open until 4… Aha. The reason was mainly because of poutine — the infamous Canadian dish! Outdoor seating at any restaurant in Lower Greenville is always a favorite of mine! We only ordered 2 things from the menu: Duck Poutine w/Foie Gras — I think it’s an additional $ 10 for foie gras the size of 2.5 quarters. Worth a shot if you want to try savory, fatty duck liver! The cheese curds were soft and not heavy. The gravy was very, very savory. The fries, fried in duck fat, were oh so crispy! The duck meat was okay — it didn’t do much with the fries for me. If I come again, I might try a different poutine. Crispy Pig Ears w/Orange Fennel Aioli — oh. my. God. This dish, I can’t even describe how amazing all the flavors mesh so well together! My friend and I assumed the ears to be 100% crispy because of the color, but it was actually crispy with areas of chewiness! For someone who loves texture, this dish is a roller coaster! And I haven’t even mentioned the best part of this yet — the aioli. Chefs amaze me because I would never be able to come up with interesting combinations like this. The orange flavor is there — and it makes the ears that much better. Not too strong and citrusy, but you can definitely taste the orange. Next time I come, I might order 2 of these! Definitely my favorite. There is a small parking lot behind the place but if you go at a late hour — good luck finding parking on this street. Parking can detour me away, but those pig ears will definitely have me back again! Just be sure to fork out some dough because our two items came out ~ $ 40.

I was craving poutine on a Sunday afternoon, and I had heard recommendations that this place would satisfy my poutine craving. Though the poutine didn’t live up to my high expectations, it held me over until dinner. I had gotten the Pork Belly Poutine with a fried egg on top(of course), and upon taking the first bite, I tasted salt. The whole dish was very salty; probably one of the saltiest dishes I’ve ever had in my life. The dish excelled when I didn’t taste much of the salt because the pork belly went well with the poutine and fries. If the dish was less salty and less overpriced, I would have enjoyed it much more.

Middle of the road. Three and a half stars from me. The service was great so that takes it up from just 3 stars. Food was good. Duck poutine was lovely. Sausage and salads were also good. Had carrot cake desert which was ok, icing was very good. Think the place is a tad bit overpriced. Would I go back if I was in the neighborhood, probably if there was nothing else to try. But I would not make a special trip to eat there.

Before I even get to the food Aubree and Rachel were phenomenal. Everything was perfect so I’ll just list what we had lol Seasonal smash(liquid appetizer) was heavenly Pretzel bread and pastrami egg rolls as appetizers The pork belly poutine– has an unexpected brown sugar sweetness We also got the sausage board Our favorite was the brisket jalapeño And the Brussels sprouts w/bacon are deconstructed And for the grand finale The Epic(appropriately named) ice cream sandwich was sinfully delicious

Jamie and I came here for the first time on a lovely Autumn Monday evening, and were treated with two bonuses– easy parking and happy hour($ 2 off all drafts)! We shared the duck poutine and a nice bowl of the mixed veggies of the day, and both were outstanding. Service by Aubrey was attentive and friendly, and the beer selection and value(even without the happy hour) was excellent. We’re doing a loaded fries tour of Dallas, and the poutine here was on a par for us with our favorite kimchee fries(with pulled pork) about a block up the street at BB Bop– super highly recommended.

The Blind Butcher was the first meal I had upon landing in Dallas, and my introduction to the delicious food scene. We chose to eat outside, but I was impressed by the space as we passed through to the patio. Exposed brick, ornate mouldings painted in a glossy black, and old-fashioned light fixtures; this place has a really trendy vibe without being stuffy or pretentious. The service matched the atmosphere; everyone we interacted with was friendly and down-to-earth. Since it was early, we stuck to a few appetizers and cocktails as we knew we would be eating again later in the night. I ordered the Hop Trip(vodka, honey syrup, lemon, egg white, bitters, and pale ale). The drunk was refreshing and unique, and a perfect compliment to our light meal. We had the pork belly poutine, which was fantastic. The house-made pork belly is accompanied by cheese curds and gravy, all served atop french fries which were truly delicious and flavorful on their own. I would definitely recommend giving this a try if you’re a fan of poutine. For our second snack, we went with the pastrami egg rolls. The best comparison I can make for this is that it is almost like a reuben in egg roll form. The four rolls were packed with pastrami and kraut, and the creamy mustard served on the sick added an extra zesty kick. This dish was also a winner! I guess my only critique is that there seemed to be no timing(cocktails weren’t ready at the same time, and the two dishes came out kind of randomly), but from other reviews I think that’s just how they do it. No big deal. Definitely recommend giving it a try!

Stopped in here for dinner before heading to a birthday party at a nearby bar. It’s all open seating, the patio and inside the bar area. Also, they don’t time the food to come out in any certain order, so the server recommends a lot of dish-sharing. We had the pretzel bread and duck poutine. both were killer. I probably saw about 12 dishes of poutine being carried out of the kitchen to various tables while we were there — it seems to be a big hit. I was also intrigued by all the cheese /meat /snack boards, but that will be for another time. My boyfriend had beer and I tried a couple of their signature/seasonal cocktails. Both very, very good. There’s a lot to do, see, and eat on Lower Greenville, but I’m hoping to make a return to this restaurant.

We came here this evening for a friend’s birthday dinner. Located in lowest Greenville, parking can be a little tricky. We needed up parking in the residential neighborhood and walking to the restaurant. Our friends grabbed a large table on the patio for our party of eight. The patio is really spacious. But, really, the patio is the only place for large parties. Our friends ordered a few appetizers — cheese plate and pretzel bread. I was able to sample each of these and enjoyed it. The cheese board had a great mix of cheeses that were unique and tasty. The pretzel bread was piping hot and glazed with butter and salt. I ordered the chicken fried quail and bacon mashed potatoes for my entrée. It was market priced at $ 15. I enjoyed my meal and finished it completely. The portion sizes were small — but left me satisfied without feeling overly full. This was a great night and I will gladly return to the Blind Butcher.

We came on a Friday night around 10. There were plenty of seats open and we opted for the outdoor patio. Blind butcher is a bar /restaurant hybrid. We ordered porked belly poutine, sausage w/pasta, and pig ears. The sausage was my favorite! It was flavorful and had a good balance of savory/sweet/tart. The pig ears had a bbq chip flavor to me. I probably wont order the poutine again, it was salty. The food was good, but its the service that will make me come back. James is the most knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly server I’ve ever had. He introduced me to a new beer and made sure i was satisfied with everything.
