Camp Gladiator

I did CG for a 6-​month period. I definitely lost weight and got in better overall shape. The trainers were very nice and the workout was always varied. The issue I take with CG is the fundamental approach, which what I gather is a general Cross-​Fit approach, quantity over quality. For instance, most trainers would ask you to do 5 Turkish Get-​ups, 20 squats, 20 overhead presses, and then sprint up to some point. These are not extreme exercises but the focus of ~90% of the trainers was to get as many done as humanly possible in, let’s say, 2 minutes. Recently I have been doing a kettlebell class, and I ACTUALLY LEARNED the correct way to do the Turkish Get-​up. Adding onto this point, I have personally had two friends that can attribute a back surgery and a knee surgery to CG and the style of workout here. Maybe for some people they need a kick in the rear to get rear to get going, but they need to know what they are signing up for.

Camp Gladiator in Mansfield, Tx is great. I’ve tried different camps and all the trainers are good, I think the best Heather at Sports Authority. She’s a great instructor, understanding, and a lot of fun. She has good info about exercise and health.

Is there a negative star? I guess all these people haven’t tried to cancel their memberships yet! Took us close to a year! When we finally got them to stop charging the card, they refunded us $ 200 and were (excuse the verbiage) ASSHOLES. I actually injured my arm in a CG class, nobody seemed to care about anything, except charging my card. Very unprofessional and just a money making racket… If you want to get fit, you don’t need to exercise this hardcore, to the point of injury. These trainers don’t know crap about bootcamp or how to exercise safely. I guess I can vouch for that since I am a US Marine. Go somewhere else that actually cares about you health more than your pocketbook.

I should’ve written this year 2 or 3 years ago but better late than never. I don’t live in Dallas anymore but have lived in California and Pennsylvania trying to find a similar work out and can’t! CG is the best workout I’ve ever experienced!
It’s challenging no matter what skill level you are on. You can be a beginner and still feel like you belong. It’s fun! Also, it’s a very positive experience. The trainers care about each person who comes to camp and they encourage you every step of the way. I have to admit I’ve found a similar hard workout in PA but they lack that positive personal experience, which I really miss.
Most importantly, I lost 50 pounds with CG, had fun doing it, and felt like a bad a** while doing it!

I signed up, on a whim. It’s been eight weeks and I still have yet to see a copy of my «contract.» I told the woman I didn’t have time and could not afford it and never once did Veronica tell me to contact corporate. She did however ignore everything I said and kept pushing me to do it despite countless emails and text messages and a refusal to send a copy of my marriage license. I guess this group of people thinks that their camp will also fix your money and time problems. They cancelled my account and refused to refund $ 120

Great workout! This is my first time trying a bootcamp (got their birthday deal). I like how every workout is different and a new challenge for your body. Reminded me of good ol’ track workouts back in high school!
I went to the location on Lemmon — Craddock Park. Uti and Crystal are both awesome coaches. Only complaint about the park is if you are allergic to grass be prepared! Had to prep with lots of allergy meds before the workouts. They have plenty of other locations all around the metroplex. Some are in parking lots.
The workouts are 1 hour. Mix of sprints, lunges, abs, drills and some workouts incorporate 8−12lb weights. It’s great for every skill level since the coaches don’t «force» you to do anything but they will definitely make you workout!

Camp Gladiator has been one of the best exercise programs that I have ever used! The trainers are all so friendly, helpful and encouraging. I have a CG family of contenders and we look forward to seeing each other and working out together. A special shout out to Brandon H., Jay J. and Yolanda E.

After a few months of CrossFit, it came to an end due to a knee injury requiring surgery, I wanted to find something similar, but easily modifiable for my knee. Camp Gladiator is a perfect fit. Another great benefit is the family-​friendly atmosphere. Not many workout programs have figured out how to mesh people who have never worked out, kiddos and those who perform at the highest of levels without one of those groups feeling left out, ashamed or unchallenged — CG does it and does it well. Good stuff.

I can’t say enough about CG. Seriously, the best work out ever. I see Gabby at Camp Gladiator at Sprouts in Coppell on MWF at 515 am. I found another camp nearby at Wagon Wheel Park in Coppell for T/​TH 5:15 am with Shannon. And Saturday with Ulysser at Irving/​Ranchview HS at 8:30 am.
I am addicted. I didn’t expect to like it at all, honestly. But they are so genuine and helpful and caring, but also so motivating and encouraging. I’ve been pushed to my limit and then coached past it too. In 4 weeks, I’ve lost weight, gained muscle, and my endurance has grown exponentially. I hate it during the work out, but love it after.

The best outdoor fitness camp ever! trainers are very well educated about fitness and nutrition and truly care about the physical and mental success of their campers! Love it!

The BEST boot camp around. Great workouts that are both challenging and fun. Plus, the sense of community is fantastic and I’ve met a ton of new friends through CG.

I found CG through Groupon. I paid my fee and signed up for the four week session nearest my address which was Top Golf in The Colony. I woke up at 4:30 am and arrived 10 minutes prior to the session. I along with a few other people waited until we eventually left as the instructor never showed up.
I emailed CG about my experience and requested a refund or at least be moved to the next session since it was due to their error. CG refused to do either but «encouraged» me to just go ahead and finish out the rest of the program.
After my email communication, I received a phone call from the instructor advising me that the class was being held in a different location due to the rainy weather. He apologized that no emails went out advising clients of the location change nor was the information posted on the CG website. I called the instructor back and requested that they do the right thing and either refund my purchase price or move me to the next location; he never responded.
The easy and the right thing for them to do would have been to either issue a refund or simply allow me to attend the next session. I didn’t pay good money to miss a single class, especially when it was of no fault of my own, but on their part.
I highly recommend staying away from this poorly ran organization.

I have been a camper since 2012 and I have since a progress in my endurance and strength… I actually stopped going to CG for almost 6 months and just came back again to confirm that this is the best fitness option in Dallas, TX…
They have many locations and times so you are pretty much covered…

I tried to find my Camp Gladiator at Wylie high school to rate it specifically but no option. Tyshawn and Ashli are phenomenal! I am always last to finish several of our workouts but these two along with my CG Buddies make this an even better workout and I could not have hand picked a more supportive group of people! LOVE IT!

I love Camp Gladiator!!! It’s a great group boot camp like workout. You have fitness trainers at your fingertips, literally, I text with my trainer often. She holds me accountable to be at workouts. I need that! I work long shifts & my workdays very every week. I’m able to go to different locations in the DFW area on different days every week. I like the fact that there are set workout times. It’s like I have an appointment time. I put it on my schedule and I make a point to be there. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I wish there were more mid-​morning (9am) workouts closer to my home but that’s changing come April hopefully!

I am a newbie to Camp Gladiator — about to finish my first camp — and I am so glad I decided to give this a try. I had been terrible about consistently going to the gym for years, so I needed to find a new way to get myself moving again that I’d also be willing to stick to. What I love about CG is that it really is for all fitness levels, the workouts change every day to keep things interesting, and most importantly — the trainers and campers are all really nice and supportive. The trainer for my camp, Shannon, does such a good job of encouraging us and getting all of the campers to interact with each other and stay motivated. If you know someone that attends CG, tag along with them to check it out — buddies are welcome!

I love Camp Gladiator so much and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun while still getting a great workout. I live in Arlington so I attend Desiree Hodnett’s camp. She is seriously amazing. She always has a different workout and it is NEVER boring. She is so devoted to us and is always opened to recommendations for certain body parts you may want to work.
I have also attempted camps in Fort Worth, Richardson, San Antonio, Grand Prairie, Kennedale, Mansfield, and Irving. I have been impressed by them all. It is nice that Camp Gladiator is offered in so many locations so that you can go wherever you may be!

Are you tired of the same old routine at the gym full of meat heads and also want the best workout of your life while making new friends?! If so, join CG! I originally started with a groupon deal and was instantly hooked. The only downside I can think of is that it’s only outdoors so you’ll have to deal with any bad weather but just man up and deal with it.
I was pretty nervous not knowing what I signed up for but I brought my mats, weights, and water as instructed. After my first workout, I was sore for 3 – 4 days. They change up each workout so no one workout is ever the same. I’ve been to 4 different locations and all the instructors/​participants are extremely encouraging and help push you to your limits. The workouts are more cardio and body weight focused rather than heavy lifting in crossfit. So I guess if you’re trying to get define without getting bulky then this is a good place for you.
They have special events such as CG games (kinda like the Olympics), marathons, and even fundraisers for local communities. Some camps even do happy hours as a group after working out. So this is great to make new friends while getting a good workout in.
I just signed up for the 6 month plan (75/​month) and believe it’s worth every single penny. I admit it is pretty steep but this is one of those workouts that encourage you to stay on track to meet your goals.

I was with CG on and off for about 2 years, so I’m not a new customer. I LOVED the boot camp, but the one star is given for their shady customer service department.
Pay attention to the minor details when signing up for the 6 months auto draft deal. I was given wrong information from the customer service department about when my 6 months was up. I did as instructed and sent a note via fax (oh yes, you have to send a fax to their fax number which is located in Austin). After my last camp, I noticed that they charged my account for another month. I called the first time, the lady said they made a mistake and processed my «fax note» too late, and that they would refund my account.
Lo and behold, they called me back and said the next camp was indeed my last session. So, I pulled up an email they sent to me telling me when my last camp session was. She proceeded to say, «I’m sorry, you were given wrong information, and there’s nothing I can do.» WHAT? You guys lie to me, and now you say you can’t do anything about it???
So, of course, I tried to get into my CG account, guess what, can’t get into it to look up the dates.
You guys really disappointed this customer.
While I loved the trainers, the customer service I just received makes me not want to come back.
