Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery

My father has been buried here since 2009. I come here a few times a year to visit his grave and I’m awed every time I’m here. The grounds kept perfectly. It’s the perfect resting place for those who gave served this country so well. My father was supposed to be buried in a private cemetery but I’m glad my mom made the decision for them both to be buried here. It’s so serene and comforting. If you bring fresh flowers there are vases and water. There are Christmas wreaths on all the Christian graves and flags on all grave on National holidays. I would encourage the family of any veteran to place their loved one here.

The respect and dignity that was shown to my father upon his passing will never be forgotten. He was given a 21 gun salute at his burial service and I know this is not common. Without going too much into his history I will say that my father is a war hero and deserved such treatment. The fact that the cemetery recognized this is a testament to their appreciation of his duty. First class treatment then and always. The grounds are kept up with the same respect and dignity that all the Veterans and spouses buried here deserve. The service for my mother was also handled with the same respect and dignity. I cannot express in words how thankful I am that their resting places are in such a wonderful location.

What a very nice, manicured lawn. There cemetery service is much different than what I’m use too. There’s like a brick covered area, with a 2 benches. I saw these all over when we were driving in. I had no Idea what it was for. I thought maybe for just a resting place. But they bring the casket in the front. And the family sits in the front row. The minister and the driver of the limo said a few words. It was short and sweet, and very, very cold outside. My husband is a veteran, and I would love for us to be buried in a National Cemetery!

i went to the national cemetery for memorial day to pay my respects to service members it was an awesome sight to see every grave to have had a flag placed on it. the cemetery did an awesome job.
