Dallas Love Field – DAL

This airport is terrible. The bathrooms were gross and when you are sitting in the terminal you have to sit is seats that feel like you are in a can of sardines.

Yay, nice smaller airport that’s been recently renovated. And there’s even a gelato shop!

Pretty busy of an airport, while still being organized! Has lots of things to do, probably one of the biggest airport I’ve been to; it even had a Jewelry stand in the middle, crazy! The southwest staff is very friendly and helpful although I don’t like this pick your own seat thing they have now it just leaves random middle seat everywhere.

This airport is easy to navigate and the security line went quickly. The layout makes it easy to find restaurants and the gates. The only negative is that the Über pick up spot is labeled as Network Transportation or something to that affect but then they had a Ride Sharing Shuttle which was confusing. Since Über and Lyft are ridesharing services you would think they would be labeled as such.

I love this airport. The airport is so nice and beautiful now (I’ve never seen the old ugly Love Field). A lot of decent places to eat. Highly recommend breakfast at the Cool River Café. Southwest airline is amazing. The service is so good and fun. Virgin is my other favorite airline which also fly out of Love Field. I wish I can afford to fly out of here all the time. hahaha

I love Love Field Airport. You can get in and out without long lines and chaos. The ticket counter attendants are very friendly and helpful.
Make sure to print your boarding pass before you come to the airport and read the what to pack/​not to pack requirements. You have several retaurants to choose from!

I’ve flown into my share of airports and I have to say Love Field is probably one of my favorites.
Arrivals were easy to navigate once in the airport. Luggage does get mixed with other arrivals so be careful with that. Found the rental car desk with ease and it was straight out to the shuttle to get to the rental car.
Departures were simple and fast as well. Quick check in, no big wait in the TSA line and a lot of things open at the time of morning we were there, which was great!
Staff was friendly and helpful.

Most organized airport around. Fastest TSA check, great restaurants and shops. My FAVORITE airport.

Got here earlier than usual, assuming I could get some work done. Disappointed that free wifi is only 30 minutes but decided I could at least download all my email in reply to the important ones.
But the Wi-​Fi connection was so bad I couldn’t even download about 30 emails in the 30 minutes allocated. I was at gate 13.
DAL: I understand you make money off of Boingo, but at least provide 30 minutes of decent Wi-​Fi to your customers!

Very quiet airport, and not crowded. TSA screening was smooth and unrushed. Agents were polite and easygoing. For such a small airport, it has lots of places to eat such as Whataburger, Chik-​fil-​a, etc. The seating and waiting area are very spacious with USB and electrical outlets by the seats. One negative thing I have to say free Wi-​Fi is limited to only 30 mins.

A nice airport to use as an alternative to its big brother: Dallas-​forth worth. The airport is close to Dallas downtown and is not as busy as DFW. Very easy to get to. Good selections of places to eat. Car rental is off-​site, but is only a 5min bus stop and there is only one bus stop. Southwest is the major airline here, but Delta and AA have flights going to their major hubs.

I can’t believe that I’ve never flown in… or out of here. Managed to squeeze in a short layover here this week.
The terminal (SouthWest) was easy to navigate and the food court offered a variety of choices with plenty of places to sit.
Plenty of places to snag some Texas souvenirs for the young-​ins, as well a several spots to get your boots shined.

This airport was very different. I didn’t realize it was so small. I ate at Chili’s which had the best service I’ve ever experienced in any Chili’s restaurant. I wish I remembered my servers name. She was really nice and attentive. I’m big on customer service, and she provided exemplary service to my mother and I.
The airport was clean, bathrooms were clean. I think I spent over 5 hours there, which was pretty frustrating because of a layover, but overall the experience here was good.

I’m a fan of the Dallas Love Field airport. It is easy to get to, returning rental cars is a breeze (and the shuttle ride to/​from the airport only takes a few minutes), and the place is very clean. Although other airports may have instituted this, Dallas Love Field was the first place I saw self-​help kiosks that let you print baggage stickers. You can image how much time this saves during check-​in! I flew Southwest and there were plenty open; all you had to do was walk your baggage up to the attendant afterwards and you were good to go.
There are tons of shopping and eating options. My husband and I ate at Cru Wine Bar and I have to say, it was pretty fantastic! We ordered pizzas and a glass a wine each and they were both reasonably priced. If you don’t have time to sit down, there are a number of fast food options like Whataburger and Chick-​fil-​a. You can even buy cowboy boots and hats before heading to your terminal, if you are so inclined.
There is some type of museum once you pass security, even a play area for children. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. My only beef is that I could never get the wifi to work here. Well, guess you can’t have it all.

HOLY UPGRADES BATMAN!
I guess it has been a really long time since I’ve flown out of Love Field. The upgrades are fantastic and the airport looks great. I definitely want to make it a point to fly out of Love Field more often. The only drawback has to be the security. I’m used to the airport security stuff, but the inconsistency and the disorganization is plain frustrating, but it definitely could have been worse.

Why have I not been using this airport when coming to Dallas? Well regardless of the reason, this is the only airport I’ll be using when coming in the future.
To start, it’s incredibly convenient if you’re staying in Dallas. Its located right in the city as opposed to DFW that’s further on the outskirts. It’s also small and easy to get in and out of. From gate to car pick up area is just a few minutes and it’s a breeze to find. This airport is also brand new and clean (always a good thing) with some good food options to choose from.
One of the biggest downfalls of airports is the traffic getting in and out and long taxi lines. Well not here… The taxis are plentiful and über can easy get in and out. There are no traffic or long lines to be found.
Great airport and the best way to fly to Dallas if staying downtown or in the actual city.

Not crowded, friendly TSA staff, and decent food options. This is a good airport.
I liked that it was clean and not overly huge. LOVE the airport :)

DAL is my preferred airport in the Dallas area just because it’s smaller and not as congested or too large to traverse. Plus my two preferred airlines (Southwest and Virgin) are fly into and out of here so that’s an extra merit.
It’s not as conveniently located as DFW — at least not for where I’m mostly venturing to in the Dallas area — but that’s not such a huge deal to me. You have to drive a lot in Dallas anyway so an extra few minutes doesn’t usually pose an issue for me.
The airport is generally clean and staffed by some very nice folks. Then again, this is Texas so you would expect as much. The Southwest Airlines ticketing area is well laid out and not cramped. I would say the same about the Virgin area when I had last used them.
All in all, I’d gladly continue to fly in and out of DAL whenever the opportunity makes sense.

I love Love Field.
Small airport, shiny and new (renovated), tons of food options (Chick Fil A, Moe’s, Dunkin Donuts, etc.), one terminal with an easy breezy TSA checkpoint, service to and from the DART station for free.
If you’re staying in Dallas itself and not a surrounding area, I highly suggest using Love rather than DFW. The orange and green lines on DART both go here and the Love Link shuttle takes you from baggage claim to the rail station and back again. It’s easy to navigate seeing as only 3 airlines fly here. They also have a few stores to shop around in to kill time. Plus wifi (free for the first 30 minutes). Plenty of seating so you don’t have to fuss for a seat at your gate. Music playing. LIVE music in the food court area (pretty nice touch). TVs with the weather and local news. It’s pretty much everything you need. Via public transit it’s 26 minutes from Downtown Dallas to the airport. Super Shuttle also runs here but why pay $ 20 when you can pay $ 2.50?

By far one of the easiest airports to navigate. Though Dallas Love Field Airport caters to a limited amount of airlines, you can still manage to find flights to most cities. After the complications that one can have navigating it’s larger counterpart, the DFW International Airport, it is refreshing to travel though this airport. Good food options, entertaining décor, and easy to navigate gates means that the airport is not going to add to the headache of traveling. Though the security lines look long, they usually move very quickly. If that doesn’t work for you, pay a little extra and breeze though the TSA pre-​check line, which normally only has a handful of people in line. Once you make it through security there are plenty of seats and every pair of seats shares an outlet for you the charge your electronics.
Another selling point to this airport is how easy it is to find a parking lot or the rental car area as they are all on the same street leading into the one terminal. DAL is definitely my preferred choice when flying in and out of the Dallas Metroplex.

I would probably give Love Field 3.5 stars because yes this is a very small airport for a big city. I never even heard of this airport but this ok the only bad is just the size. The good is that they have some very decent places to eat like Chick-​fil-​A, Dunkin Donuts and a pretty nice sit down restaurant but I forgot the name.
The airport is pretty clean and bright with lots of seats and more areas to eat in. I was more impressed with the fact that they had an art gallery than the airport itself. I know I will be back because I’m going back to San Antonio pretty soon.

DAL stands for Dallas Love Field, and is not to be confused with the larger Dallas Fort Worth (DFW). I’ve connected to DAL several times vis Southwest, and each time I had a pretty good experience.
The airport feels modern, clean, and has a good variety of fast-​food and more formal sit-​down places. Also ice-​cream, gelato, and Dunkin Donuts to satisfy your sweet tooth.
The one thing that’s really great so far about DAL, is that every time I land here, my connecting gate is almost always close by! No stress worrying about running like crazy. I even booked my last business trip returning from HOU-​DAL-​OAK with just a 40-​minute connection to OAK and I was confident about making it. Incidentally, the flight to OAK was delayed 15 minutes so I had plenty of cushion. Still, if you have a tight connection, DAL is probably one of the better airports to be in.

I really do like this airport. For being in a big city, it retains that small town feel for the better and the worse.
The gates will be packed. They always are. There are few amenities, so the lines are long. But the few amenities that they have are good quality establishments.
The worse part about Love Field is the TSA here. These guys have torn me and my bags apart literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I’ve been through here. I travel weekly, so it’s a bit ridiculous. Just plan on being nearly strip searched, and if you cruise through, then you’ll have plenty of time to wait in that 25 person deep line at Starbucks.
