Dart officer 529 Mohammad, if it was your first time riding the dart train and you ran into this «0fficer» you would probably not want to ride dart again or in fact visit Dallas again. No disrespect to the fine men and women who do actually up hold the law and protect the passengers. But this guy thinks he’s a god among men.
I’ve filed 2 complaints on this officer to dart with no reply on his harassment towards me and on a disabled
Women in a wheel chair. Absolutely atrocious behavior, especially when all you wanna do is get home or ride to your destination and have to pay fare too. If you identify this man go the other way to avoid a nasty train ride experience with this guy. Please be safe and be well

I love DART. Its one of the best features of Dallas– a light rail that can take you to Park Lane for shopping, Downtown, and the American Airlines center where my favorite teams the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars have games!
Not to mention DART connects you to the world, literally. It has a connection to both Love Field airport and DFW airport if you want to fly domestic or international.
There is more attractions the DART rail and buses can take you to, the Dallas Arboretum, Bishop Arts District, etc…
Of course there could be air fresheners on the DART but otherwise, this is what makes Dallas the most pedestrian friendly and best public transit in Texas!

Count me in as a fan. This is what light rail in Texas should be like. You WILL run into interesting people. But it is comprehensive, it does connect to Denton and their public transit system, People complaining about the efficiencies of this system need to attempt ridding around on what Austin tried to pass off as rail first.

Infinitely faster and better than Austin and especially San Antonio. Bus passes arent 24 hours though. Of course, like any public transit system, its filled with bums, thieves and criminals.

For the past 2 years DART has been dropping the ball when it comes to buses being on time and technical issues. Every time a bus is late or a technical issue does occur, it is ALWAYS when the customer care call center is closed. Then there are some drivers who are rude all the time. These drivers and train operators only care about their pay check. I pay $ 80 a month for poor customer service. Then they want us to call in every time we have a complaint but the issues never get resolved. Once I get financially stable, I’m getting a car because DART is continuing to go from bad to worse.

Dallas is very lucky to have an extensive and modern light-​rail system. It’s not a perfect system, of course. The digital displays at the rail stations do not tell you which direction the train is going… look for the signs on the front of the train itself to confirm your getting on the right one. If your at one of the stations with two platforms on opposite sides of the tracks, ask someone which side you should be on for your destination. Tip: lightest and cheapest time to ride is weekday mid-​morning and early afternoon. A special «Midday Pass» is only $ 1.75 and good between 9:30am and 2:30pm on weekdays. Regular day passes are $ 5. Two hour passes are $ 2.50.

If you are headed to a different terminal at DFW other than Terminal A, DART can be a very slow and confusing option.
The service to DFW terminates about a 5 minute walk from Terminal A. Once you’ve walked to Terminal A, you have a 2 free choices to get to other terminals:
1. Go through security here and then take the airport monorail to another terminal
2. Take the airport bus to another terminal, and then go through security
A few problems with option 1: the security line is really long here, and there’s no TSA pre-​check line at this location.
The problem with the option 2 bus is that it’s really slow.
The DART ticket machines are hard to use. I couldn’t figure out how to use a credit card to pay for the $ 2.50 ticket, and then the machine ate a $ 5 of mine without giving me a ticket.
If you’re heading to (or coming from) any terminal at DFW other than terminal A, I recommend using a taxi or Über.

Probably the best public transportation option we have here in Texas. Granted, that’s not saying *too* much, but Dallas Area Rapid Transit gets the job done. Interesting fact, it’s actually the largest light rail system in the country. Has a large number of stops that run pretty far out into the Metroplex, and serves both the touristy parts of Downtown Dallas as well as a few of the suburbs. 5 bucks for a day pass, clean cars, and it seems like a lot of people use it, which is good.

Took this to the State Fair. Love taking public transit, even when its crowded. The itself was great but the cars were horrid! I fail to see how they would hand a «normal» crowd, let alone the mass of folks trying to get home from the fair. The composition of the cars were not well thought out, AT ALL.
But other than the way the cars were composed, the experience was NICE!

Um why does every Dart train smell like urine? Does one person run around peeing on all the trains or is it an epidemic .
After reading the Unilocal reviews we bought a $ 5 all day pass. We were headed to the Lawn at reunion. Our trip started at 15^th street in Plano. Along the way we decided to get off the red line and hop on the green line to Deep Ellem for dinner.
After dinner we continued on our adventure that’s when the stench hit me. I have now ridden on three trains at this point in time and they all smell the same. It’s not an overpowering odor, but it’s faint and in the air. All the trains smell awful! It’s the smell of urine.

The great thing about public transportation is it gets you were you want to go. We arrived safe and in time for the concert.
The trains are super easy to navigate, but really smelly.

The train and the buses are clean and always on time.
But Dart police should pay more attention to all the people smoking weed, drinking and doing drugs teansactions at west end and rosapark stations this is my first and last time stoping here

We took advantage of the Dart a few times during our stay. It was fast, clean and cool. It eliminated having to find parking downtown. It forced us to do a little walking, lol. We actually purchased tickets but there was no one checking. I heard they randomly do ticket checks. I will consider our ticket purchase a donation. If my starting and ending destinations can be reached via the DART then that’s my first choice.

This company hit my vehicle in one of their huge work trucks and because there were no witnesses to testify to the police, they claimed that they think I was not in my lane (even though I drive such a tiny car the driver of the truck probably didn’t see my vehicle at all). With them being such a huge corporation you would think that $ 800 of repairs would be worth their reputation, however that does not seem to be the case. It’s sad to me especially because I had previously held this company in such high esteem.

It seems a shame to me that after ALL these years of the additional tax penny, the construction hassles and delays and the full, then empty trains that we don’t have a better, more user-​friendly and all-​inclusive mass transit system…
The routes are still not sufficient to serve ALL of Dallas County (Heaven forbid you should live anywhere away from Westmoreland in South Dallas), it took decades to FINALLY get close to DFW Airport (which SHOULD have been a BIG priority from the get go-​and when is it going to be seamless-​no transfer to a BUS with baggage, etc-​to get to Love Field?) and why didn’t DART step up and extend along 635 while we’ve all been suffering through the excavation and construction of THAT canyon??? Seems short-​sighted and not well thought out to me.
Now to the real source of my current frustration which is the inaccurate and confusing route schedules and maps and the slow-​assed servers you guys must have purchased and/​or contracted for. It durned near takes 20 minutes of very frustrating page to and fro MANY TIMES to get a route from point a to point b and then another 10 minutes of MORE page to and fro to find a coordinated schedule especially if you have to (again, Heaven forbid) transfer to one or more lines… sheesh, it seems endlessly inefficient. And then, just often enough to keep you apprehensive, the train you decide to rely upon just doesn’t show (for whatever reason-it’s the third Thursday of the month or it rained or the President is in town or our barely-​esteemed mayor decided to throw a personal party downtown in celebration (ooops, I meant commemoration) of the anniversary of the assassination of JFK, the silly incomprehensible excuses go on and on…
The trains themselves are nice, the stations for the most part are (now) safe and well-​maintained and the fares are well… fair. BUT, get your organizational stuff together DART and figure out some way to provide current, real time, accurate route and schedule information if you want to build a revenue-​generating, return ridership!

UGH, why can’t we have such an expansive metro in austin?! I took the metro from rowlett tx, to downtown Dallas and then to north dallas to the zoo.
Quick, clean and easy. $ 5 for an all day pass. $ 2.50 for a kid’s all day pass. They enforce the fare here, saw two peeps get kicked off for no tickets.
I’m sure there are some downsides to ppl that use this transportation all the time, but I didn’t experience any of them!

DART is remarkably clean and relatively inexpensive based on one day’s use. But it is SLOW.
We paid only $ 2.50 for the ‘Reduced Rate Day Pass’ for «Seniors» like us. We only used it one trip each way but could have used it all day, apparently.
We boarded at DFW Airport and went to the West End station, the one nearest the 6^th Floor Museum. The ride took an hour to go what the Boston MBTA trains take about 30 minutes (in snowless weather, of course.) to do. The return trip seems a little faster.
If you plan to use it, plan ahead. But we do recommend it otherwise.

Dear DART, you need to learn that social media is not something you can force. Your staff was a crew of incompetent, unprepared, ignorant, baboons that could care less that they were causing people to be three freaking hours late for work!
I was at cityplace station, (waiting for over an hour on the next train, that DIDN’T even go where it should have) and I asked a DART employee «What kind of a job allows you to say ‘whenever I get there, I get there?’» And she tells me «the kind of jobs people that take public transit work for». This was after the total disaster this morning all for a stabbing that happened four hours earlier at a location different from the station they shut down because of it.
I have now been blocked from their facebook page after providing them my feedback.

I’ve never had to rely on public transportation until I moved to Dallas… since I live way up north (McKinney) and my job is in Uptown my daily commute would be about an hour there and an hour home. (If less than that I would be surprised). My office is about to move to the heart of Downtown and parking fees are atrocious. But thank goodness for the DART!
For these last six months, the rail has only been late once. If there’s a bad storm, then debris or lack of electricity can shut the rail down. (Happened twice just in this month!) Overall the trains are comfortable, spacious, reliable, and safe.
I pay $ 80 for the 31 day pass which is the best value. It’s $ 5 to ride all day or $ 2.50 for a 2 hour pass. But if you rely heavily on the DART, there’s a yearly pass for $ 800. I love the GoPass app where I can buy my tickets, outline routes, or even just check the DART arrivals and departures.
I’m happy I can read or browse through my phone on the way to work than stress and curse in traffic.

Darting to DFW from Mockingbird Station takes an hour, which is almost as long as driving. You only need a Local Pass/​Fare ($ 2.50) if you’re coming from any DART station area. (Ft. Worth and Denton would need a regional pass/​fare.)
I love that the train stops at terminal A, close to security. Cross over the tracks in front of the train, follow the walking path to the terminal entrance, and take the elevator up. As you can imagine, the lines at this security check point here are the shortest in the entire airport. If you don’t need to check a bag, just walk by using the lane on the far right.
After you get through security, turn right and follow the signs a short way to the SkyLink if you need a different terminal. Take the escalator upstairs. This monorail will zoom you to any other terminal at intervals of about two minutes. Check the illuminated red signs to see which terminals that monorail will go to.
Leaving the airport via DART is not as easy. Take the Skylink to Terminal A, if needed. There are precious few obvious DART signs in the Terminal A concourse. You have to just follow the exit signs to ground transportation, currently near gate 15, I think. Once you are outside the terminal, do not cross the street. Turn to your right and look for the DART rail signs. Follow the signs to the pathway to the train. There’s a ticket booth down there by the train if you need it.
I only docked one star for the lack of DART train info inside the concourse. There should not only be signs, but also a schedule. You can always use the Where’s My Train app, but most people, especially visitors, wouldn’t know that.
All of this is wheelchair friendly. There are elevators to the Skylink and ground level entries to the train.

I personally think DART is a great, fairly safe way to travel across DFW. I love utilizing it especially when the State Fair and events around downtown Dallas come around. It’s cheap to get a roundtrip ticket and it will usually drop you off right at (if not super close to) your destination. They are always opening up new stops in various towns and locations. I honestly don’t think people utilize it enough. Save your car from wear and tear and gas purchases and hop on the rail! Enjoy the ride!

I’m starting to really like DART. Today (7÷18÷2014) I discovered the M-​Line Trolley. I’ve been riding DART once a week for the past couple of months. I start at Beltline and my destination is Cedars. Since I’m on a midday ticket, I take advantage of the extra time to explore Dallas.
I get off at different stops and wander around a bit before making my way to Cedars. Today I decided to get off at the Cityplace/​Uptown stop on the Orange and Red lines.
First, a note a bout this particular station: If you like riding LONG escalators, this is your stop. It takes 2 long escalator rides to find the light of day. At first I wondered why they were so long. I wandered around a bit, in the light of day, and then made my way back to the station.
This time, halfway down and before riding the second escalator, I saw another escalator going in the opposite direction. «What’s up with that?», I thought. So off I go in that direction. When I get to the top, a mystery is revealed: I’m now on the west side of the North Central Expressway (US 75). Cool!
That’s why the long, and DEEP, escalators. I just went _​under_​the expressway! But the fun does not end there. At the DART entrance on the west side of the expressway, I see a turntable for a rail car.
I’ve just discovered one of the stops for the M-​Line Trolley, which serves the Uptown Area. Of course I take the trolley for a free ride, and make a mental note to come back and explore this area further when I have more time.
Another fun, and safe, DART adventure.
