The Nursery is open April though October and by appointment only until March. We are growers of hardy Perennials, Ferns & Hostas, Trees & Shrubs, Ornamental Grasses, Japanese Maples, and the unusual like Bamboo, Palm trees, and Dinosaur Food to name a few. We also carry many drought tolerant and deer resistant varieties as well.

In Fall and Winter we offer landscape renovations and tree and shrub planting and removal.

We also offer ornamental tree & shrub pruning year round and fruit tree pruning in January. Pruning bid estimates are FREE.

History

Established in 1992.

Daryll began a nursery in California where he specialized in tropical plants. Upon moving to Oregon, he had to find a new plant niche to establish a nursery on and found a love for the unusual hardy plants for the Willamette Valley. Daryll also began a vast selection of hardy grasses, ferns, and many more. Our 3 acre nursery contains 5 hoop-​houses and a propagation house that were built one at a time by the employees of the Nursery and Daryll. The Nursery also contains a Arboretum that was created in 1992 and continues to be added to. It helps our customers find the right plant for the right place.

Daryll was born in 1946 in Alhambra, Calif. He met the love of his life, Phyllis in 1965, before he served as an Infantryman in Vietnam in 1967 – 68. He then married her after returning in 1968. Daryll’s love of plants earned him his Associate of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture at Ventura College. Daryll received his knowledge in tree pruning while working for Santa Barbra County in 1975 – 82. He then opened ‘Daryll’s Exotic Plant Nursery’ in 1982 and served Santa Barbra County until 1992.

Daryll moved to Oregon with his wife and opened a new nursery, ‘Daryll’s Nursery’, specializing in plants for the Willamette Valley in 1992. He uses his plant knowledge in the Nursery and his tree pruning knowledge in the pruning services he offers.

Since becoming established in the Dallas Community, Daryll has taught many corrective pruning classes and helps teach propagation techniques for the Master Gardeners as well. He offers his knowledge to anyone who asks.
