History

Established in 2008.

Buying financial products directly over the Internet, such as insurance, is gaining popularity with customers who traditionally purchased insurance through their agent or broker. «Like a well-​known and admired gecko-​based company that wants you to buy your car insurance online, we founded Direct Event Insurance to apply the direct over the Internet business model to special events insurance,» the company’s Chief Financial Officer, John Oden commented recently.

Because we’re offering our special event insurance products over the Internet, we’re able to cut out a lot of the cost involved in providing insurance for parties, festivals, tradeshows, and concerts and pass these savings on to our customers.

Luke Sweetser has a track record of high achievement in all of his endeavors, including his roles as CEO, entrepreneur, private equity investor, and business mentor. As CEO, Mr. Sweetser has led businesses with as few as 5 employees to enterprises with more than 200 employees in industries as diverse as heavy equipment manufacturing to software and insurance.

He has served as the chief executive officer or chief restructuring officer for Sun Engine Manufacturing ($ 65 million in revenue), CSI Insurance Group ($ 6.6 million in revenue), software company Envision Gaming (start-​up to $ 2.5 million in revenue), and his current endeavor, Helios Insurance Group, a diversified financial services company.
