DON JORGES IS AMAZING! We are from California close to Mexico so we are VERY picky about our Mexican food (and don’t like TexMex). When we found Don Jorges a few years ago we were so delighted! Very tasty AUTHENTIC Mexican food and some of the best salsa we’ve had in Texas (bit of a kick to it). Authentic carne asada tacos, tortas, and much more. AND for the TexMex lovers out there they seem to have a solid selection, though I haven’t tried anything from that part of the menu.
Tonight– I think we perfected our order. We ordered (to share) the Jorge Burrito and replaced the chicken with fajitas. When deciding what sauce to top it off with the waitress recommended the «Diablo» sauce! it was HOT but very good! We got two corn tortilla fajita tacos too. Everything was top notch and we left very satisfied!
We’ve tried most of the Mexican restaurants in the PG area and Don Jorges is the only one that keeps us coming back for more!
PS Always great service here, and though it is a bit of a «hole in the wall» (the best places are) it is always clean.

I tried this place because it was close and it had one five star review. I have been looking for the perfect beef enchilada dinner and unfortunately this was not it. The food was bland like most other beef enchilada dinners I have gotten in the same area. Will not return here

This authentic Mexican food place definitely stands out above the rest. (My mom is from central Mexico and I travel there frequently). The mole enchiladas are among the best I’ve ever had! The mole was incredible fresh– not your standard out of the jar stuff. The pozolle soup is delicious and hearty. The menudo is also among the best I’ve had– high quality ingredients, just the right spices and not greasy! My son had the fajita nachos and loved them. Meat was tasty and perfectly grilled. Fluffy rice and yummy bean dip. Finally, have to mention George (Jorge)-really friendly and eager to please. I agree with the other reviewer… This place is defintely worth it for a refreshing taste of authentic Mexican food!

Whenever I’m in the area, I like to stop at Don Jorges for some of their tasty chicken enchiladas. The taste of most of their menu items is very authentic and traditional. Some of the other items are a fusion of classic mexican and high end cuisine. Prices are very reasonable and allow me and my family to come often and try different dishes. However, I always ask them to stay away from my enchiladas!

how do i explain this? AMAZING. my husband doesn’t even like mexican food, but this place is so great. best tip? sour cream enchiladas and black beans!!! they have something special in the enchiladas that has me thinking about them literally every other day… and the salsa has a great kick with a lime-​y flavor. YUM!!! oh, and did i mention they make their own CORN tortillas? yep, they do and they are awesome. i am highly recommending them to all of our friends and fam. granted, they are in pleasant grove and i know that’s sometimes sketchy but this place is totally WORTH IT. if you’re looking for real authentic and delicious mexican food, you’ve got to at least try don jorge’s!!!
