Fresh Market

Since I come here at least 3 times a week every week, there has to be something good that keeps me coming back. Quick non fast food locations in the area are limited. I cannot have French fries everyday from different fast food spots, but hey… Sometimes it happens .
It’s cafeteria style where you fix your own to go box and it’s weighed at the cashier desk. Be mindful of allowing your eyes to fix more than your stomach needs for a quick lunch because the cost can add up quickly. The fruit and the desert bar was always to blame. Lunch plus and afternoon fruit cup made my Fresh Market addiction a 13 dollar a day habit! I had to cut that out but occasionally I will still treat myself.

Great place for a quick lunch… it is buffet… and they weigh. they have a good variety. something for every one. the only down side is it is not the type of place to dine in. there is only two tables. otherwise perfect for on the go

For people who work for companies without a cafeteria, Fresh Market is your lunchtime solution. I discovered this place through Unilocal after moving to the area, and I have not been disappointed. Make your own to-​go plate from the self-​serve buffet and pay $ 6.49 per pound. While that may sound a bit steep, the pricing does help you manage your choices. I can get a small salad with all the fixings, and have a small piece of meat and still weigh in around one pound. In my experiences, the food is fresh and tasty. Because of its location in the medical district, they always have healthy choices such as baked chicken and fish. However, if you want to indulge and have something fried, self-​service affords you the option of adding a small treat, such as one of their juicy chicken tenders. Give ‘em a try!

Great place to grab a quick lunch. I usually try to come before noon or after 1 p.m. because it’s less crowded and I can find parking.
This is a buffet style place where you grab a to go box and fill it up. I believe they charge $ 6.95/lb. Last time I went I used the 10% off coupon on Unilocal and my total was about $ 8 for a pretty full box.
Their collard greens, Mac and cheese, turnip greeens, meatloaf, grilled veggies, and pork tamales are some of my favorite items to get when I’m there.

Good selection, cheap price for the quantity but I would not call anything I got fresh.

Love this place. I can get some healthy salad and fruit but also a taste of something a little more fun: tacos, Mac and cheese, enchiladas, pasta or stir fry things (changes daily). Nothing super fancy but definitely tasty. The price per pound is completely reasonable. I seem to average around $ 7 – 8. I brought a coworker here and she is hooked now too. Staff is friendly. Only complaint: if you go at noon it is so packed and it is awkward navigating around everyone.

I like to come here On My lunch break when able to. they have great selections of breakfast meats pastries casseroles and fruit to choose from. At lunch time they have so much to choose from from salad and fruit bar desserts variety of veggies mixed griiled sauteed meats same way also

I am sorry to say that I do not agree with the others — On Oct 7, 2015 I arrived early at 6am thinking they had open but to find they open at 6:30 however that’s not the problem — I stood by the door playing games on my smartphone at the same time watching them set up for the breakfast meal. Well first of all being there when they open you would think the food would be FRESH… NOT, it tasted like it was reheated from the day before (leftovers) and secondly as for the food temp it was cold, one would think being first in line for a first fresh meal of the day it would meet better expectations — this was my last visit, I will chalk it up as a bad experience, there was no excuse for the lack of flavor that is if you don’t mind leftovers and this is suppose to be a FRESH MARKET — get real.

Graze wisely and you can enjoy an inexpensive meal with a variety of tastes.
Perks
— The variety here is a huge plus. Worried that you’ll never find a place where you can have a plate of BBQ, fried rice, and enchiladas? Look no further! The menu also changes during the week. The fajita beef is always tasty. The tamales pack a spicy punch. Don’t pass up on collard greens or turnips greens if given the option. They pair nicely with so many of the meats.
— The food itself is better quality than what I would expect from a place charging such a reasonable price per pound.
Cons
— Think carefully before you pick an item. Some are quite heavy and are probably not worth the price per pound. Quesadillas, I’m looking at you!
Overall, I enjoy this place and look forward to eating there every time.

I like this place mostly because it’s super convenient for lunch and has a ton of different food options. It’s always really crowded from 12−1pm on weekdays (for example, I was feeling pretty claustrophobic today because there were so many people inside!).
How it works is, they charge $ 5.99 per pound of food you get, and you can fill your box with as much as you want (think Yogurtland). But be careful, it’s really easy to get too much! They have food ranging from salads to Tex-​Mex to healthy proteins (e.g. salmon) to Southern Comfort. And they have killer guacamole with huge chunks of avocado. They also have a variety of fresh fruits and desserts. I usually try to get a small sample of all the things that look yummy and not get too much of one item so that I can try a bunch of different things. And I pinpoint the things that feel the most bang for your buck, like salmon, guac, strawberries, blackberries, etc. I guess my parents have taught me well. :)

ok… so i had training in this building and i was told before-​hand about this «little eatery»!! WTH… this is little as far as the space but there are like 1000 buffet lines lol
since i had training 2 days in a row… all day… i was able to hit ‘em up for breakfast and lunch… NAP TIME!
breakfast buffet: eggs, bacon, sausage (links, patties & smoked), hashbrowns, fried taters, fresh fruit, grits, oatmeal, biscuits, gravy, toast, pancakes, waffles… LAWD HELP ME
the only thing i didn’t like was the hash browns… no flavor
lunch buffet: depends on the day: mexican food, italian food, seafood, salad bar… you name it… literally they have it!
If you’re coming for lunch… come early because of the location… it gets jam packed in here and it’s very tight trying to get through. Friendly staff and any type of food you can imagine. You can fill your plate up with as much as you want and have as many plates as you want… just be prepared to put it on the scale and pay up! LOL don’t let your eyes be bigger than your stomach! :-)

They’ve got really good food. I love the chicken pasta dish and their fresh fruit. I go out of my way when I am in the area to eat here. The staff is friendly and courteous. Their parking is shared with a school so it can get busy.

Employees are friendly. However, they don’t replenish the breakfast food. The hours state breakfast is served until 10; however, by 9:15 they are out of French toast and out of egg whites. The kitchen staff is busy preparing lunch rather than paying attention to the current bar!

I decided to try it out thanks to a recommendation from a coworker. This place has a good, diverse lunch selection… it’s got a little bit of everything, including just a little too much salt on it’s grilled tilapia. For being in a building right across from a hospital and housing a children’s medical center, you’d think they’d cut back on the sodium! Other than that, I loved the fresh fruit bar & the fact they had mangos, just wish the strawberries were fresher. The salad bar is pretty average (iceberg and romaine/​spinach, mushrooms, etc). I’d try this place again, if only to get my fruit fix.

So much variety! The food is nothing to write home about, but there’s a lot to choose from, and I suck at cooking American food (I can’t make myself add so much butter to my cooking), so I like Fresh Market: D!
I glazed over the salad bar, but yes, there’s a healthy side at Fresh Market. But the homestyle cooking, like meatloaf (which had a super sweet catsup glazre) and mac ‘n cheese (I could feel my heart working harder on the first bite, mm yum!) is what makes my lunch a happy time ^^ The mashed potatoes had a whole inch of melted butter slicked on top and not yet incorporated, so I didn’t try one of my favorite dishes… Lots of vegetable options, like sauteed mushrooms, green beans, etc.
The selection at the counter near the kitchen changes daily, and it’s impossible for me to stand in line there and not add a little of everything to my Styrofoam box! Tamales, tilapia, brisket… it all looks so good!
Out of the three of us, I had the most food and it cost a little over $ 7. It’s not crazy cheap, but you get a whole variety to choose from. One of my only gripes woule be that you have to pay for water, sadness! There’s visitor’s parking in front of Fresh market, so don’t fret over possible parking tickets. Not much seating in Fresh Market (it’s pretty awk seating anyways), so walk a bit to the building and there’s a big food court-​like area with tons of tables to choose from. Fresh Market is only open for breakfast and lunch (darn). I’ll be back for mac n’ cheese when the cravings hit :)

No mattER how hard I try, using the small containers whatever, they are over priced. I’ve tried the fajitas (grossly low quality), meatloaf — decent, chicken-​decent, side — decent, but over priced. Impossible to get out of there for under $ 10 for average food.

This one of my favorite places near UTSW for lunch. They have a variety of food that changes daily. You can check their menu on their website. They also have a coupon to take 10% off your order that is $ 5 or more. This place charges by the pound so don’t go overboard with the heaviest foods. I love coming here for their barbacoa and chocolate chip cookies. So yummy!

Man, I’m glad I don’t work in the Chase building! This place would make me dangerously fat in no time. Your eyes will bulge because the breakfast buffet is a sight to behold. There are a ton of breakfast options, both healthy and not-​so-​healthy. And yes, you WILL have to walk past the not-​so-​healthy choices to get to the healthy choices. Prices weren’t bad either considering the high quality of the food. Don’t go into this place thinking you’re just gonna get a lil somethin’ to nibble on. It’s gonna take me two or three days just to digest and burn off what I got to go for breakfast. If you’re driving, parking is gonna be a b!#ch. You can probably get away with parking in one of the spots that require a decal because the service is quick. Great joint though if you work nearby. I look forward to checking this place out for lunch.

Wow, Fresh Market is AMAZEBALLS!
There is a standard salad bar, a dessert bar, a cuisine of the day bar (Wednesdays asian, Thursdays mexican), a hot food bar, and a sushi bar. Fountain drinks, bottles and even coffee are also available.
The food is all super fresh, including the salad and the sushi. Like any buffet style spot, it’s hard not to go overboard. I got seared tuna slices, some regular salad, seaweed salad, a piece of rotisserie chicken, kale salad, and a chicken enchilada. It was epic. I had to use two boxes (oh, the shame!). That plus a fountain soda (and using my 10% off coupon which you can get online or by checking in on Unilocal) cost $ 9.07! Holy crap!
There are only 2 – 3 small tables in the front side of Fresh Market, but there are some places you can sit outside if you’re willing to eat from your lap. I took it to go and gobbled it up at my desk minutes later. The only downsides are 1) the fact that it is crowded at lunchtime and the tight layout makes it so that you have to dart around and say excuse me a lot if you want to grab your items quickly, 2) the fountain soda was super flat on my visit, and 3) there are a disproportionate number of really irritating people who whistle one bar of a song over and over again inside (it’s like the annoying dude bus has its only stop at this location). Still, the delicious and varied feast at such an insanely low price will have me coming back frequently.
