If I could curse on Unilocal, momma forgive me but I definitely would in this case! Oh man oh man do I despise this hole in the wall chinese food spot. Normally… hole in the wall restaurants are quaint little secret gems… but in this case… I was SURELY mistaken!!! Being from california, half asian, and raised by a Chinese nanny I was craving some asian food. Since I’m located in the oakcliff area, I didn’t want to travel too far to please my cravings. Maybe, I just have sacrificed and taken that trip to north dallas, because this food was just so displeasing. Now I’m far from stereotypical, so I didn’t second guess the amigo in the kitchen cooking up by chinese but geez was this bad. I really don’t understand how this place is still open. I’m far from negative and it really pains me that I have to write the review but I really don’t want people to waste their money just like I’ve had!

Ok so I’m a college student who woke up with a sore throat and wanted some hot and sour soup for my soul. I found this place and when I arrived I almost drove off considering the appearance of the building, and then the inside of the restaurant is just as sketchy. However I just started eating my vegetables and soup and totes omg it tastes so good. For ten dollars I got a reasonable sized soup container, and like two pound of rice and vegetables. I will most likely be back to this most honorable restaurant.

Not bad, but certainly could be better. Huge portions, decent quality, nice staff, and the facility appears clean. But flavor is lacking. Mostly just generic tasting foods. If you go here for the first time, I would recommend the lunch hours. The portions are huge for the reduced lunch prices. It’s not 5 stars, but I don’t think they claim to be. Definitely more than capable to serve it’s purpose; and if it is before 2pm and you wanna stuff yourself full of General Tso’s chicken, and still have enough for a snack or small meal later, these guys have you covered.

This place has been in a sharp decline and it has hit rock bottom for the past few years. The only product I would say is good is the sweet and sour chicken. Everything else is mediocre. The rice is hit or miss. Service is okay, sometimes it’s bad. There are other, better options in this area.

I’ve been getting to-go orders here for many years and have never been disappointed. Is it the best in the city? Probably not. But the portions are generous, it’s always tasty, and qualifies well as «comfort food» in my opinion. The staff are very friendly, which is always a big plus.

Bad bad bad! This is only Chinese food in name only. One of the worst Oak Cliff eateries ever. One should steer clear of this establishment at all cost or face the consequences!

Fried rice looked like Mexican rice. Kung pao had no flavor. Nasty, don’t waste your money!

I like Hong Kong the quality is OK(use to be way better) and service is also nice & friendly and orders come out fairly quickly. Three things that would make this place better: 1. Delivery 2. Lower prices 3. Slightly bigger dinning area

I have to agree with some of reviews. The food isn’t what it used to be and the service does tend to suck, but I found out a very interesting bit of info that has changed the way I look at the restaurant. The kids who work there get zero count ZERO tips, everything goes to the owners or managers. When I was first told this by a server I thought maybe I misheard them like maybe they split tips but no anything left for your server be it good or bad doesn’t help them in the least. I wouldnt be too excited if I worked in a restaurant making minimum wage or less and whether my service was five star or complete crap it doesn’t matter. This cannot be right and it’s complete crap that the money customers think they are leaving to a great server for fantastic service goes to someone else.

Ok Chinese food not the best dining room a bit cramped as it is located in an 1960’s KFC– The food has gone down in quality as I have been going to this place since the 90’s — I fear Hong Kong Garden will be closing soon…
