Katina Chapa, LMT

Katina is by far the best massage therapist in the entire city. I have been going to her for over two years, and she was a life-​saver during highly stressful law school finals. I carry all my stress in my upper back and neck and would have intense pain until she took care of me. I used to only go to male massage therapists because I get really tough knots. She always knows exactly where they are and gets rid of them by the time I leave. I was really impressed by her attention to detail in making the whole experience the best ever — her table is more comfortable than any other massage place, she uses aroma therapy in every massage, and is always attentive to what is bothering me that particular day. I cannot recommend her enough!

I had numbness in my arms, blurry vision, and a headache. I was in major pain. She got me in that evening. She is absolutely amazing. I have managed a spa in the past and i get massages regularly. SHE IS MY NEW GO TO. I highly recommend her!

This was a much needed birthday gift from my husband. Needless to say we were penny pinching this year and my husband thought using Groupon would be a better deal for our time/​money.
The location was off the main path, but finding the parking and facility left me a little upside down. Lol. But, if that were the worst i would except –driving in dallas– defeat.
The studio and room were clean, modern and very chic. After a very brief intake, we began our session within our alloted hour. I believe using the Groupon coupon, and her knowing I was a groupon carrier did not play in my favor — the quality of the session or some other eliminate obscured the therapists performance.
Additionally, it felt very «wham bam thank you ma’am!» The bodywork was less then par.
Everyone has bad (terrible, amazing) days, but transference is everything in the massage industry .so therapists learn to hold your energy, as well as the clients ;)
Anyway, I asked him to splurge next year… i guess «you get what we pay for!»
Obliged, and sorry this had to be a difficult review, but everything makes us stronger, esp. hearing how we can better ourselves.

After calling to make an appointment, I was texted back with a very vague availability of an entire week. After multiple attempts to try to schedule an appointment via text message (incredibly unprofessional), I was told her software was freezing up. That was two days ago and have not heard back since. What a miserable experience just to try to get in the door! I’d recommend scheduling with a massage parlor that has an ounce of professionalism.

Ditto what Moe A says. I’ve had the EXACT same experience. I bought the Groupon in mid-​February as a birthday gift to myself. She couldn’t fit me in until late March. Well that’s disappointing, but it must mean she’s really busy because she’s that good, right??? But then she canceled the appointment because she got sick… okay, I get it. It happens and I appreciated that she didn’t want to spread her germs. But in the month since then, she hasn’t returned any of my calls or emails to reschedule. I’m starting to think this was a scam. Happy birthday to me.

Professional, friendly, great massage!

I bought a one hour massage on Groupon from Katina Chapa, and its been two months of trying to e-​mail and call her for an appointment, and she has yet to respond. Each time you call the number it goes straight to voicemail and you can’t even leave a message. Don’t waste your time, this lady has clearly gone over her head by trying to earn business she can’t maintain. I feel really disappointed and let down because I relied on these reviews to make my purchase, but it was never fulfilled. So hopefully this will save someone else from the trouble that we went through, save your time, and your money, go somewhere else. Katina Chapa, you need to stop putting up discount ads if you can’t even book appointments. Thank you.

90 minutes of deep tissue massage with Katina and I am literally in heaven.
I think the toughest part is getting back in the car and driving home:)

I’ve had my fair share of massages, and when I moved to Dallas I shopped around trying to find a therapist that I liked. I’ve gone to Katina probably five times in the last 8 months, and she has been consistently AWESOME! I heard about Katina through a friend, who told me that a bunch of my classmates went to go see her after the stress of law school finals got to be too much to handle. Now I know why they went to her!
Katina works out of Evanesque, so her location is central and easy to get to. The little massage suite/​room she has is a great size, and she always plays really relaxing music. She has a bed heater if it gets too cold, which is a really nice touch, and she goes the extra mile by using aromatherapy scents on the face rest on her massage table to get you totally in the mood for relaxation.
But who cares about all the frills if the massage is bad?! THANKFULLY, that is so NOT the case with Katina. She really gets those knots out in a «this is totally bearable, but it hurts so good» kind of way… which is exactly what I like/​need. Really, though, her pressure is perfect, and she checks in with me to make sure that it’s not too much/​too light. On top of everything, she REALLY knows what she’s doing. She can handle any sort of sports/​stress injury you throw at her, and can identify spots where you carry stress to work on those a little more than other areas.
This morning, I woke up and literally couldn’t move my neck. After calling three chiropractors that couldn’t get me in for a day or two, I sent Katina a text. She was not only able to get me in, but was able to make time for me in under an hour! After I left an hour-​long massage with Katina, I had motion in my neck back, and within a few hours most of the twinging was gone. Pretty remarkable for someone that was crying when she had to make a lane change on her way to the appointment a few hours earlier!
Bottom line: Katina is a pro, she’s FANTASTIC at what she does, and I heartily recommend her to all of my friends in the area. I have found my massage therapist in Dallas!

After finding Katina, I don’t go anywhere else. Started going to her when I was pregnant with my first child. She is AMAZING!
