Not sure I would have come here if I had read the reviews before hand but my service was quick, and the tech was very nice so I had a good experience. They mentioned it was close to service time for the transmission fluid but I declined until next oil change, other than that no hard up sells like many people here talk about. Received a follow up call from the owner or manager to ask about my service, so that was a nice follow up from them.

The service I received was awesome today. The guys who helped me we nice and gave me a complete rundown on my vehicle. So nice to still get good service!

I was so pleased with my service here today! I wasn’t planning to get a oil change today but my light came on and I didn’t want to drive back to Austin without getting it done. Not only were they friendly but I didn’t get hassled on up selling! The waiting room was nice and clean and I only had to wait 15 minutes which was much faster than expected. I would highly recommend them!

I give them a coupon they sent to me when I checked out. They forget to apply it and just asked me to swipe card. After I find no discount on my receipt, the manager told me, «already cashed, nothing he can do, keep it for next time.» No judge, just give everyone the true story.

Polite helpful staff, didn’t try to upsell me and I drove right in– no wait. You don’t even get out if your car which I like a lot. I’ll def be back it’s a find for sure!!!

Do you and your car a favor and do not do business with these shyster’s. They ripped me off once and I contacted the owner for a resolution to no avail. I’m currently facing several hundred dollars in repairs due to their incompetence.

I thought I’d give this establishment a little boost since it’s gotten so many negative reviews. Let me start by saying, I go to all auto-​related shops with the mindset that they are probably going to try and talk you into a bunch of crap you don’t need. I went to this particular shop after the Mobile One by my house closed and I drove all the way to Greenville Ave to go to the other Mobile One shop, only to see that that one had also closed. Kwik Kar was right across the street. I parked and a worker greeted me at my car. I told them I needed an oil change, he told me the cost up front and I handed over my keys and went to the waiting room. The waiting room was very clean, well air conditioned and had TV and magazines. There were only 2 other people waiting, so my car was done in about 20 minutes. The mechanic did try and sell me a fuel injection and brake flush for $ 89 or $ 99 a piece (based on factory recommendations supposedly), but as I said, I am used to this treatment as a female taking my car in. I did let them change my air filter, as it was visibly dirty, but otherwise I politely declined the other services being offered (mostly because my dad is good with cars and I just call him and ask if the things they recommend are actually needed — and they weren’t). The mechanic was very nice and didn’t try and pressure me into anything extra. They changed my oil, replaced my air filter and I was out of there for $ 50 in 30 minutes. All in all, no complaints. They were polite, professional, and I will happily take my car back for oil changes in the future.

Stay away! The only reason this has one star is because I cannot give zero stars. My car broke down one morning and started smoking on the freeway, after I put some coolant in the engine and let it sit for a bit I drove it here and they said they were backed up and couldn’t work on it until the next day. The next day I called and they said it was still on the wait list to be worked on. When they finally called me back to pick up my car the said they replaced a part and had to do a bunch of tests which ended up being about $ 700. Once I was in my car, the gear wouldn’t switch into reverse and the brake light was on while the ebrake was off! This was not a problem before I brought it here! Ridiculous. I walked right back to tell them and I had to wait about 20 minutes for someone. Finally the guy who worked on my car spent the entire time walking to my car trying to say some misogynistic b.s. all while laughing! .such as «how long have I been driving» and «am I sure I know how to drive standard».might as well tell me he thinks I don’t know how to drive because I’m a woman! He gets in the car and takes the ebrake off and goes «problem solved!!». Unbelievable. Was he the one that doesn’t know how standard cars work? Was he trying to make my car roll off?! So I am really trying to remain calm while he tries to walk off with a smirk and I explain how this wasn’t a problem before so they go work on it again. Finally done after about 30 mins, they said a pipe was in the way to switch gears and they have to keep it until tomorrow to work on the brake light! So I bring it back the next and they had the nerve to tell me that’s how it was before they worked on it! They just wanted to charge me more money! So they fix the light some time later and my car is working fine. THREE WEEKS LATER, the exact same thing happens. my car breaks down and starts smoking. It won’t turn on and I had to push it all the way home. Once again, I call them to tell them what happened. After reading their fine print on the receipt, they do have some kind of warranty «if you don’t drive after something is wrong again». First of all, why would any mechanic have that fine print where they are EXPECTING failure again and if you drive back to them, you are pretty much voiding the warranty by driving. On the phone the manager said I have to get it towed myself then, which isn’t cheap. They also said the warranty only works if what is wrong is something THEY messed up on but they can’t guarantee that and also they can’t work on it until the week after and just kept giving me prices for things. This place is the biggest load of shit ever. Be warned.

I’ve been here twice for an oil change only because of the location and was told both times that my brake fluid needed to be flushed (or something along those lines) for $ 99! The first time seemed a little fishy, but we did it anyways. The second time we went he reminded me that he said it needed to be done the last time but I guess he forgot that WE PAID FOR IT THE LAST TIME. I heard him tell the guy in the waiting room he needed the same thing done… They will most definitely take advantage of you if they get the chance.

If you do business here after reading all these reviews then you will deserve what you will get.

Using AAA, I had my car towed here after suffering a flat tire and flat spare tire. AAA told me that this location had a night drop-​off, but it does not seem that they do. That’s not too bad of a problem though — I arrived back to Kwik Kar right at 7:30am when they opened to explain the situation. Though I was met by a gentleman who acted with all of the urgency of a sloth when I explained what had happened, I still trusted that this AAA-​approved establishment could simply put a tire on my car in a reasonable time.
I received a call five hours later. That’s a fairly long time to just put a tire on a car, I thought, but I understand places get busy or other customers may have appointments. Well, of course, my car was not ready yet. A Kwik Kar employee had just called to inform me with a disinterested mumble that my wheel lock was not working. The same wheel lock that had been used a night earlier to place a spare tire on my car was all-​of-​a-​sudden the wrong wheel lock. I was baffled by the incompetence, and the accusatory tone that I was totally wrong that this was the right lock (when there is certainly no other lock), but I told the worker to do what he needed to do to put on a new tire.
Three hours later, I had not heard any news on my car. Hoping for the best, I returned to Kwik Kar to retrieve my car. Thankfully, with the eight hours I had allotted them, the geniuses at Kwik Kar were able to find the time to put a tire on a car. After finding my way out of there with my car, through the blank stares and lack of courtesy displayed by the employees, I noticed the wheel lock was not there. I called back to ask where it was and was first told, again in a very accusing way, to check my console. It was not there, so after being placed on hold, I was told that they forgot to put it back in my car. No «Sorry.» No «Oh my mistake, sir.» Just they forgot — after they implied I was an idiot for not being able to find it. I therefore was forced to venture back to this wonderful establishment, only to receive no help whatsoever. I had to actually go out to the garage-​portion of Kwik Kar and grab the wheel lock myself.
I think what bothers me most about Kwik Kar is the combined incompetence and unfriendliness of the workers. They have one job — to provide car maintenance. If they cannot, they should at least be nice about it in a customer-​is-​always-​right kind of way. Kwik Kar, in my case, displayed gross incompetence and unparalleled unprofessional demeanor.
Please do not visit Kwik Kar on Greenville. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. This place is the epitome of «suck.»

Worst place to go for service. I went to them for a state inspection. The first guy told me it would be 20 – 30 minutes because they only had 3 mechanics. Then as I was waiting, another comes in and tells me they won’t do my inspection because my tint is illegal?! It’s had the same tint job since 2006 and I have had the inspection done there before. Not counting the countless other inspection it has passed since then.
Then they go check with I guess the manager on duty at the time and he said I would have to remove one inch of tint of the bottom of the strip across the front windshield. He said they wouldn’t touch it till then. I just left there wondering why they would turn away business.

I did my inspection there but I won’t ever go there for any other sevices again. They said that my wind wipers needed to be replaced, otherwise my car won’t pass the safety test. My wind wipers have been working fine, I accepted it since I was in a hurry to get my inspection done. It is a bad experience and is enough to keep me away from this place.

Buyer beware. They tried to sell a fuel injection cleaning on a well maintained car with 60k miles, do they take me for a fool? Then they charged $ 64 for a cabin air filter change, I am the fool for not asking the price first. … $ 15 at auto zone plus 5 minutes of my time. «Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you!»

Oil change is a bit overpriced. Good customer care though. The manager and the owner call back to check if you have any issues.

This is a terrible place. They nickle and dime you on things you do not need. DO NOT GO HERE. You would be better off going absolutely anywhere else. Save yourself lots of money and choose someone better. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.

My wife took our Lexus LS430 in for an oil change. They told her she needed an transmission fluid change, which seemed logical at 55,000 miles. They charged us about $ 135.
After we left, we thought the transmission was slipping, so we took it into Sewell under warranty. Sewell said it is a sealed transmission, it is never supposed to be serviced and that currently the fluid was low. There isn’t even an add line coming from the engine. Davenport motors, who service Lexus exquisitely, confirmed this statement.
Sewell said because Kwik Kar opened it, this voided our transmission warranty, and it would take a long process of about $ 230 to try to fill the transmission fluid.
I went back to Kwik Kar twice for a refund, and the service tech said the transmission should never of been touched. Then the assistant manager talked to me, and said he disagreed and there was nothing he could do for me. He said he would have the owner call me when he comes in every morning.
Never got a call and I never got a reimbursement. Now that I have read all the other reviews, I’m amazed this place is even in business!
Mobile 1 across the street is not as fancy, but it got 3 ½ stars and a lot of positive reviews. I’ll go there next! I will never return to Kwik Kar, and strongly suggest you do likewise!

As I sat in the waiting room, reading all the negative reviews on my phone, an attendant asked me to come out to my car to tell me I needed to fix a chip in my window and change my air filter (which was done by Sewell 3 months ago). Lol. Do they not think people read Unilocal reviews?
Shady sales tactics. Oil change was fine. Didn’t take too long but not coming back.

This place is a downright scam.
Two weeks ago, I took my car in because I needed a new fuel pump. I’m new to town and didn’t know any better. They replaced the fuel pump for $ 700.
Afterward, my engine light was on. I suspected they’d simply forgotten to reset it. Wrong. When they replaced my fuel pump, they broke the fuel line. When I took it back in, they offered to fix the problem THEY CAUSED for ANOTHER $ 700.
My car is now in a new shop, who laughed when I said I’d taken it to Kwik Kar first. Apparently these things happen all the time. They said I shouldn’t have been charged $ 700 in the first place for the fuel pump, and the $ 700 to fix their mistake is complete crap.
Guess what this new, reputable shop is charging me? $ 150. That’s SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS LESS.
Don’t go here, for the love of God.

Quick, friendly service… was in and out for my inspection in under 10 minutes. They did try to get me to fix a «chip» in the windshield, but I told them no and it was no hassle. I will definitely be back again next year!
