Ok sandwiches and salads Service is hit or miss but ok for the most part I’ll go once in the blue moon Not a fan of their desserts Little pricey for what they offer

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re at least familiar with la Madeleine. Here’s what you might not know: 1. Their coffee is better than Starbucks. (Yes seriously and this is coming from a coffee-snob point of view). I’m talking mainly about the French Roast here. Also at Love Field, their line is infinitely shorter than Starbucks. 2. They’ve gotten into gluten-free. (Not as much as some others — i.e., no GF bread and also the Caesar is pre-mixed with croutons already(how they still do this I don’t know but I’m sure it’s on the way out) — but there’s a GF symbol on the menu and plenty of options, especially salads, breakfast, and even the potato galette). 3. Their decaf is better than the decaf anywhere else. (OKOK, I’m sure there are tiny shops in Seattle, Portland, NYC, etc where they’ll Aeropress you a decaf that will blow your mind. But for all mainstream intents and purposes, LM wins.) Go here. Super friendly, easy parking too.

I’m mainly reviewing for the service** I’ve been to this location three times so far since it’s right across from where I work. EVERY time I went, the service was bare minimum. I usually order take out so I’m always in the bakery/take-out line. The girl who usually works at that register is so unfriendly and unhelpful. And it’s every time I go there she just looks like she doesn’t want to be there. The first time I went, she told me my sandwich came with two sides. I asked her what were the options and she gave me TWO choices: pasta or chips. At first I thought it was pretty funny that there really was no choice. But I went online later and saw that there are MANY, MANY side items to choose from. That girl was just being very lazy and didn’t want to say the list. At least tell me if the sides are listed in the menu! Never have I been greeted with a simple«Hello, how are you» but with a silent stare waiting for me to start placing my order. I also see how she handles customers in line before and it’s the same bleak face and attitude. Girl, every time I go in there you’re unfriendly and impolite. Why are you in the service business??? The food is okay and a little pricey considering there are restaurants nearby with lunch specials during the weekdays. And since I typically order take-out, I know I’ll probably bump into her again during her shift and I rather not have to deal with horrible customer service for mediocre sandwiches.

Good place for comfort foods. Love the soups, but wish the quiche was better. I think they need to add a bit more salt. I know they need to add more cheese to the recipe.

My goodness the negative reviews. I can only attest for weekday lunch, the staff that are permanently here accompanied a group of us to try this place for lunch. It is a favorite of theirs and after eating here, I can see why. If I worked close to here, it would def be a fave place for me. Thei pastry and dessert counter is impressive, Then choosing a lunch was so difficult! I had no idea what to try, so I finally opted for a half chicken salad with 2 small sides. I chose Caesar salad and mushroom soup! Their iced teas are also fresh and clean! We had a large table and everyone loved their lunch! NOONE was disappointed. My chicken salad was amazing, the croissant was flaky and buttery. The French dip au jous my coworker had was his favorite, the chicken pasta was luck your plate clean The ambiance was charming!

Well… The food I ordered was given to me right away, I think maybe because its premade. Hm idk but it was pricey and it was good. I don’t think people come here for the food, but it’s kind of not the best quality, but it’s still good! I liked it.

Open ’til 9:00, but no interest in an 8:30 customer. Floor flooded, confection counter emptied. Shove it.

Terribly disappointed in our visit. My French toast was ice cold. My husband had ham and eggs. The ham was shaved deli ham for sandwiches. It was also cold.

My experience here at this location was great! It seems as if they changed the manager recently since she came out to greet us and was anything but awkward and unpleasant like the other reviewer mentioned. I’ve visited La Madeleine before but have never ordered anything but their sandwiches. This time I tried the Potato Galette, which was almost like a round hash brown, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and I definitely recommend it. The coffee is good too(little on the dark side but nothing some half and half can’t fix) and for only $ 2.50 you get unlimited refills. The breakfast obviously doesn’t come close to Original Pancake House(next door) but I’d still come here if I want some fresh homemade-like food without the long wait.

Great food but the manager was very awkward and unpleasant. He was very rude to customers and his employees.

It gets pretty packed around lunch time, but it’s never too noisy. If you can snag a spot by the fireplace, it’s so lovely to just sit a read a book. Not only that, but the food is delicious, especially the quiche Lorraine. The service is quick and friendly. No complaints here! I love this place and have been coming here for years :)

The service was good. Overall pretty clean and appealing. But my Chicken Cesar Salad was very dry and bland, an the soup was luke warm with no real flavor. Dessert was much better just not very impressed with my main meal.

Not that I am alway a fan of runny yolk, this Egg Benedict lost its charm the moment I cracked the outer egg white open. The yolk is completely cooked and it looks like I just halved a boiled egg. Yuck. I am about to relocate from Austin to Preston Hollow area. I am on my last house hunting trip to Dallas to finalize the search and thought I would check out a breakfast scene around the house I was interested in. La Madeleien and Original Pancake House are adjacent to each other. I had initially opened the door to the Original Pancake House then I heard a niece piece of classical flute music coming out of La Madeleien. So I changed the route at the last minute and came in here. It is practically empty in the hours that should be quite busy.(Sunday morning) I should have realized that I made a mistake and turned around. Well you pay the price to learn a lesson, I guess. See the picture of the Egg Benedict I just got in the picture section. Bleh~

I agree with Chris. This location is very poor. Went last night and had the salmon in dill sauce, my dining companion had the chicken la Madeleine. Both looked awesome on the menu but when received after 15 minutes what we received looked nothing like it. The staff was friendly enough but really disappointed in the food.

First time at this location but definitely not my first trip to this chain. Entire experience was weird and not sure if it’s an off night or this location is on it’s own for management. Strawberries Romanoff are always a favorite… But when did they start serving the sauce in a small sealed cup like it was ketchup? The sauce was incredibly weak and in small servings. Meal was good overall but service wasn’t friendly or knowledgable. I’ll make the drive to the far superior Lemmon location

Chicken Caesar and a cup of Tomato Soup! Can’t go wrong with that. This location especially has spectacular customer service. And they’re super quick so I can get in and out fast on my(sometimes nonexistent) lunch break. Never gets old!

Extremely slow service! Food was good but not great. My mom and I had breakfast here today and the place was very popular. There were only a few clean tables and it took at least 15 minutes for our eggs to come out.

Food was great. Staff was friendly. Service was convenient. They did get our order wrong, but besides that… highly recommended.

This location is in a really awkward area. It is between the nice area near all the«uppity» new places uprising these days but it is also near a scarier part of town. The people here are either really nice or hate to be where they are and doing what they do. So tippy toe around and find the nice ones. They’ll accommodate to your needs and be friendly to you also!

I used to come here more, but as more and more options appear, I’ve been going less. I do love their omeletes here! But that goes pretty much for all La Madeleines. The bread is good, and you can hang out with a cup of coffee with refills for a couple of hours before you get strange looks. Like most mention, it’s a great place to grab a quick bite and very kid friendly(important to me, annoying to others!). Also, you can run over to the Albertson’s(2 stars) and grab a bottle of wine with your meal…they’ve never said anything to me about it(but I don’t make a big deal of it and bring my own corkscrew lol!). Overall, I like this place.
