Lone Star Percussion has been serving percussionists around the world since 1978. Much more than just a warehouse full of drum products, Lone Star Percussion is a full service percussion store located in Dallas, Texas (with a rather large inventory, we might add). We offer a full line of percussion products from every major manufacturer. Whether you call yourself a percussionist or a drummer, we can fulfill your performance needs. In addition to percussion products, we offer on-​site clinics in every area of percussion from drum set, to marching and orchestral percussion. On site lessons and instrument repair are also available.

History

Established in 1978.

We are percussionists and we love percussion… we live it and we breathe it. If expertise and product knowledge are what you are looking for, you’ve come to the right place. Everyone at Lone Star from top to bottom has either a music education or performance degree, has marched and/​or taught a top 12 DCI corps (including DCI rings and high drum awards), or has experience as a gigging drummer. Most have a combination of these. No matter what your interest, we have an expert that can assist you with confidence. Furthermore, we do not have commissioned sales people. Our staff will always advise you with what is best for you, with no pressure, and with courtesy at all times.

Lone Star Percussion is the best percussion retail company in the United States. Their on-​site inventory is unmatched. They have virtually everything a percussionist, drumset player or band director could ever need. If they don’t have an answer for you, they will find someone who does. The staff are all former band directors, professional players and college performers who know the details of each product. They always seem to be able to find answers regarding those difficult to find parts. Large bids always get done in a matter of hours and they are always quick to help in the store or on the phone.
I can’t say enough positive things about everyone at LSP.

This is the best drum shop in Dallas. They have virtually everything. Although most of their business is mail order, Chad along with others in the showroom have the knowledge to get you what you need. This is the only place I go for supplies. I’ve been going since 1996. The only change is they have way more stuff!

Second year of having to order the middle school starter kit for my daughters. The first order last year came in two parts several months after ordering them and we didn’t receive everything. Now second daughter same situation. On top of it all they are not wanting to send the missing mallets. We ordered in July received first portion late Aug and if it is like last time we won’t get the rest till Oct. After talking with my daughters majority of the kids are having the same issue. Never recommending this place to anyone.

Rude, slow and plain don’t care! Worst service Iv ever had. Kept my family waiting for an hour, looking for a order placed the week before, when I came to pick it up. Then they sent me home with the wrong stuff, had to ship it back, and waited 2 weeks only to call them to get my refund, they couldn’t be bothered to call me. Company offered to give me a gift card… never saw it, then I call back again and the guy just giggles at me, and says we gave you a good deal… OK BUDDY you priced matched my purchase… just as bad as guitar center, if not worse!

I have dealt with LS for several years. As a band director and percussionist I have a difficult time finding the right percussion products for school. I have often used many of my personal instruments at school. I recently decided to purchase some accessories for the school for an upcoming concert. No stores in the greater Los Angeles area had what I wanted in stock. Call Lone Star late on a Monday and presto, we have the instruments in Cali on Thursday afternoon.
If you can’t find what you need online or in the catalog, call these folks on a real telephone, talk to them and I am sure they will get you hooked up.

If you’re a serious percussionist, this be the place for you! Their online retail business is excellent, and the store has friendly and helpful employees. Mrs. Bear gets most of her percussion-​related items here.
The store has quite a bit of stock for you to see, touch, and hit on, which is very useful when you’re trying to decide on an expensive crash cymbal or set of special sticks. The only negative is that they’re a bit of a challenge to find and get to unless you live in southwest Garland and are very familiar with the local area.

A great staff with a friendly attitude, and a great in stock selection has prompted me to move my purchasing for myself and my programs completely to online. They are faster and more efficient than my local storefront shop, and I’m very happy with the service we have received.
