I used to go to this place all the time about 15 years ago. The food is pretty good but now I know why I don’t go there anymore. The customer service is poor and needs an upgrade. They don’t answer the phone to place to go orders if they don’t recognize your number. RIDICULOUS! If you want some good catfish with good customer service go to Hook Line and Sinker in North Dallas. The distance is worth the difference!

The food was nasty and made me nauseated. I ended up throwing it away and getting something else to eat.

My mom and aunt swear by this place, but I don’t see anything special about it. I’ve never been to the location and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Ever. Usually the food is decent, but this time our catfish nuggets were basically just pieces of fried fish crisps. There were maybe 5 pieces with actual fish in them. The rest were thin and inedible. Fries were very greasy, and their tartar sauce had a weird taste to it so I used my own. Not worth driving out of your way to a «bad part of town» for.

The fish had decent flavor, but definitely needed more seasoning. The serving portion was reasonable for the price. If you can’t get to your favorite catfish joint, this is an okay substitute. The service leaves much to be desired. I won’t go back.

OMG this is the real deal. Man I saw Jesus in the back frying catfish. He blessed it and I love it. FYI this is a real hole in the wall. Get your food to go because Jesus will not save you if you hang out in this parking lot.

5 stars for the catfish. Authentic as it gets. The reviewer describing this as a hole in the wall was being generous. No way after dark. Sketchy mid day. This is strictly a take out. Don’t even think about eating in at the few tables in ‘the hole’! This is kind of like the restaurant version of the funky gas station with the attendants behind bars and cheap malt liquor in front. In fact, that place is just next door which I discovered because the ‘restaurant’ ran out of sodas and bottled water and they said just to run next door. One thing that I noticed next door was a greeting card spinner with a sign«Love on Lock» and the slogan: Perfect Greeting Cards for a NOT so perfect situation! I thought I’d been around somewhat but that’s the first line of cards I’ve seen to send to your prisoner. And about those guys in wife beater t shirts standing in front of the huge NOLOITERING signs… The catfish is really good.

5 stars on the fish! this place is a hole in the wall for sure and happens to be in one of the scariest neighborhoods i have seen in dallas. seriously. i was super scared. if you can get past the looks of the place and ignore the misspellings on the menu, you won’t be disappointed. i definitely wouldn’t travel here alone or at night. but the fish is the most clean, tasty and delightful fish i have eaten in Dallas. I’ve been looking for food this good and i finally found it. i got the catfish filets. comes with a pepper and fries. mom got catfish steaks. also comes with fries and a pepper. girlfriend got the strip basket and we weren’t aware that it would be enough to serve 5 – 6 people. the guy behind the counter(perhaps the owner) has communication issues and didn’t tell us that part. the strip basket is for 5 – 6 people and comes with fries and several peppers. i was impressed with the food but scared of the neighborhood
