If you’re in search of a 100% perfect Coney Dog straight outta Detroit this is the place! While I was ordering Victoria asked me what part of Detroit I was from!(She knows her people) Turns out she lived right down the street from me and get this, WORKEDATMYFAVORITECONEYISLAND! She knew all about L. Georges at Inkster, Grand River and 8 Mile. Service was great, the CONEY’S were Awesome with a capital A, I’m so glad I didn’t have to fly home to get my L. Georges fix. For people that don’t know a Coney from a hole in the wall, Don’t hate! This isn’t a new trendy place with creative creations. Its a transplanted slice of the institution that powers the Motor City! The people of Detroit literally fueled by their local Coney Island build your cars and do their best to keep the wheels of industry turning. It isn’t uncommon to wake up to coffee at your Coney Island and go to sleep with a couple of Coney Dogs in ya too. I’m confident there were times when I had three square meals a day at L. Georges. So go, enjoy a fine slice of american industrialism and get some food that gets the job done. Service: A+ Cleanlyness: B FOOD: A(the fries could have been better) Had a report that the GYRO was outstanding.

If this is good for Michigan than I feel sorry for you. The lady I ordered from was nice enough, very welcoming. That’s about where the good ends. The atmosphere looks like a 1980’s laundry mat, but I can forgive the dive vibe if the food is good. IF. I ordered the gyro and a side of fries, which I was stoked about since I love gyros. What I actually received was a pita with CHICKEN inside and frozen, unseasoned fries. OK, so they messed my order up, I’ll give them one last try and eat the chicken filled pita but the chicken was bland and unflavored. As much as I want to see small business succeed, I can’t spend money on such a bad product and won’t be returning unless MASSIVE overhauls are made.

I never met a gyro that I didn’t love until I went here. I figured since they had gyro painted in large letters on the window, that it would be a safe bet. The meat felt dry, like it had been spinning on that spindle thing too long. I won’t be returning.

If you’re looking for cheap, quick and easy, this is a great spot. The BLT wasn’t bad, and the burger was sub-par, but not the worst I’ve ever had. The food was mediocre, but it got the job done. I had a need, the need was filled, and 2 people got out for less than $ 15. Not bad. The downfall of this place is just the environment. It’s super dirty, like filthy. You kind of have to turn a blind eye to it I guess, but from the ceiling to the floor, I could just see that there are some major underlying issues not being addressed for a restaurant to be this dirty. It is quick/casual, so don’t expect great service or great food. Or great… anything. Just expect need = met. That’s it. Anyway, you’re in the neighborhood, you’re hungry, everywhere else has a 30+ minute wait. Give it a shot. Why not! YOLO!

Went there for a coney last week for lunch and it was great for the most part. Rachel and i are originally from suburban Detroit and were very ecstatic to try this place out. This particular joint is really dingy so don’t expect to be able to eat off the floor. They just opened in october and i was real excited to try it out. This joint fast casual. You order in line and you can either take it to go or have the waitress/waiter deliver it to your table. No number system needed. Victoria seemed very good at remember your face and what you ordered. She would direct her wait staff to deliver it directly to your table. The food was good for the most part. But when i filled up my ice tea i saw a roach. I then tried to whisper to the server that and she couldn’t her. So i had reiterate it louder. The waitress then went over and shreaked. We then heard a thud noise as she killed the roach with a metal container. The whole dining area heard it but were too busy with their conversations and coneys to notice. Maybe only this one group of african american women made note and giggled but continued eating. Victoria, the owner was very helpful. She had deeply apologized and explained how the hotel nearby has been the cause of many roaches. She wanted to make things better and we chatted about things and shared some commonalities. Apparently, her cousin owns Berkley coney island in Detroit and that she’s from West Bloomfield as well. A bit uncanny since i haven’t yet met another west bloomfield resident outside of michigan yet. Even after her stop and chat i didn’t want to eat or touch anything in this restaurant. The thought of what goes on at night in the restaurant kept my stomach uneasy: roach infestation, and roaches crawling on the walls, tables, etc. My girlfriend who didn’t see the roach was fine and enjoyed her meal. She said the coneys were alright. I thought they tasted alright. The loose coney(ground beef and chilli) that i had was really salty. The hot dogs were excellent and crisp like i remembered them at home. But not as nice. Overall, a bit disappointing. I really really wanted this establishment to succeed. I just don’t think i could go there again seeing that roach there. Seeing one roach could easily mean there are zounds of others. P. s. looks like she found a chef. Their menus when i went made note that they are open on saturdays now from 10−4pm. p.p.s parking can be hard to find. Make sure to bring change for the meters. They’re 1.50 per hour.

I ordered a salad. A Greek salad with chicken. It was HUGE and tasty. I looked around to what others were having, and it seams the coneys are popular.(duh). Next time I go, I will try one of the Gyros.

I will base my review solely on the food I ordered, the Philly steak. First the negatives. Have you ever had Steam Umm? You know that funny taste it has? That’s what this Philly«steak» tasted like. A co-worker informed me her friend thought the same and asked to see the steak they were using and they refused to do so. The menu said it came with onions and peppers. I asked for just onions but when I received my sandwich it came out with mushrooms. WTH! I didn’t feel like dealing with it so I just picked them off. Would have been easier to just pick off the«steak» since there was less of it. There were a couple positive things. The meal did include a drink and fries for under $ 10. There were quite a lot of fries and they came seasoned. Good stuff, if you like frozen fries. Also, the menu stated the sandwich came with mayo, but it wasn’t just plain white mayo. It was some sort of spicy mayo/sauce. It helped cover the taste of the«steak». I would never eat the Philly steak again. Go two more blocks down and get the Philly at Lenny’s if you are craving one and are in Downtown Dallas. The one plus was the cute brunette who took my order. She had a great accent and looks to go with it. I would have to be hard up to try this place again. The only positive reviews seem to be based on menu items that are definitely not made in house. Hot dogs and chili shipped from the North and gyro meat that comes in on a freezer truck. The review from Samantha W seems to be from a owner of the place or from someone who never had a hot dog before. I have walked by the place and seen the old guy that used to run the joint still in there. The only thing worth trying in his place were the gyros. A small place like this should be cutting their own fries and slicing their own steak, FRESH every day. Tens and City Tavern, are BARS on the same block that will give you better food.

I just tried this place for a late lunch and I will defiantly be going back. The cook, which I am guessing is Victoria is really nice and you can tell she enjoys what she is doing. The guy running the cash register is a bit rough around the edges, but I get his personality. Some guy was trying to haggle the prices(the prices are great already!) and he asked what time it was and the guy at the register said«time to get out»…great stuff… I couldn’t have said it any better myself. I recommend everyone trying it out… looks like they are just opening and I hope they do well. I plan on being a regular and they will end up getting an easy $ 20 a week from me alone.

I have never had a Detroit style dog before, but let me tell you, buddy… this is the ultimate comfort food. I am not sure if it tastes as good as it does due to the authentic Detroit style chili and dogs or if it is more because of the love the owner puts into it, but it rocks either way. I am proud to have supported a business that puts this much thought and effort into a Detroit staple. Though they aren’t from Texas, they got here as fast as they could and for that my tastebuds are excited. So lucky to have been adopted by this momma!!! Simply put, you have got to go!
