Nails Now

I should have left when I could not find a gel color I actually liked. They had no OPI gel colors or gelish. The off brands would run into the cuticle as you painted them on and when they dried thick it kind of rippled and she had to buff it down. Yen is super sweet lady and they stayed open late for me but the polish formula was bad and colors no good and I think that was why the color kept running into my cuticles and Yen couldn’t clean it up all around fast enough and some polish set in my cuticle and the overall look and color just wasn’t what I wanted. When these polishes are runny like this you gotta set one nail at a time so it doesn’t flow Ito cuticle. She offered to have me
Come back for a color change but I don’t think I want the service and I don’t think I should have to bring my own polish. Took an hour and a half for my nails. I left flustered and disappointed.

Worst service. They don’t listen to what service you’re trying to tell them you want. Guy just put fake nails on me without a manicure. I had to ask for manicure. The manicure consisted of just cutting my cuticles, which were already covered with acrylic. Then just put polish on. No lotion or oil or anything. When I asked for lotion she said she offered me hot wax and I said, no. Again… they don’t listen. Worst money spent. Go somewhere that cares.

the put an UNAUTHORIZED $ 5 tip on my friends credit card and refuse to give it back to her. FRAUDULENT JERK OFFS! its that guy manager that shakes!!! he’s the one that did that and refused to give it back. make sure you check you receipts!!!

Terrible customer service and poor quality pedicure/​manicure. The nail tech doing my pedicure was unbelievably rude– huffed and puffed the entire service and was very abrasive. This place is severely outdated and unprofessional. I will never be back. Worst nail experience thus far.

My nail tech did a great just for a great price! I had to tip her extra for working on these dogs (feet) LOL!

I am not sure where the 5 star ratings are coming from on this place, but I totally disagree. After moving to the area I have been looking for a new solid place to get my regular pedis. This place had decent Unilocal reviews, was nearby and had a sign out front stating it was voted the best nail place SO I said What the Heck, I’ll stop in for my overdue pedi and a nice lil mani to spruce up my hands.
Walk in, no wait… awesome. Usual prices… great. Décor and atmosphere… yuck.
I can deal with ugly, especially of the service is stellar. Not the case with this place. Limited, old looking polishes. Rush job on both mani and pedi (first time in my life that my pedi was complete at the same time as a simple mani). Sloppy paint job on both. There was polish ON my cuticles!!!
Skip this place.

Great place to get your nails done in Dallas! Tina is excellent — friendly and does great work. It is worth driving the 5 miles to have her do my nails as the other places I have tried in Uptown just aren’t as good.

Regular Pedi lasted 3 weeks! This is a quick efficient pedi, not a luxury 1 hr long treatment. I had a busy day and just needed to get it done so it was perfect ad very affordable!

IMPORTANT NOTE (in case you don’t read the rest of this): They take (credit and debit) cards for payment, but they have an ATM you have to use for tips. Their system does not allow you to leave a tip with your payment.
As for the actual review, here goes:
A friend I went to get our nails done here last week. The quick version of this story is that the lady that did my nails worked very quickly (a major plus), but that also meant she did a rush job (a major letdown). I wasn’t in a hurry and it was 6:30 when I arrived so it was not the case they they were about to close (which they don’t until 8pm).
She even noticed the spotty job she did on my feet without me having to mention it to her. While she was doing my manicure she looked over at my feet to notice that the paint on one of my toes was dripping…
As for the manicure (and this is a general flaw with most nail salons, not just this one), she was again doing a rush job and didn’t carefully file the nails that has cracked. I had to point out three nails to her that were still split and needed to be re-​filed. This is a sign that she wasn’t paying attention and truly taking care of my nails. Then, she made the recommendation to glue the broken nail. This is a poor recommendation. If my nails are «weak» as she was careful to say to me no less than 10 times then gluing a weak nail is not the answer — filing it down is a much better look.
The actual salon is nice. It’s a pretty relaxing environment. They serve beverages (water, wine, margaritas) with your service and are generally pretty friendly people.
Overall, I give this place 3 stars instead of 2 stars (because I’ve definitely had better) since my nails turned out nice (once she fixed the dripping paint on my toe, and filed my fingernails). I will, however, continue searching for the best manicure in Dallas. Unfortunately, Nails Now goes on my «Not recommended» list.

Moving to Dallas from Miami was a shock since I’m used to my $ 20 mani/​pedis. This place, however, was worth the extra $ 15. Got a mani/​pedi and it was delightful. Not a great selection of colors, but the ones they do offer are quality (i.e. Essie, OPI). I’m a classic OPI red girl myself, so it wasn’t a problem for me.
Overall, the place is clean, the techs are professional and they took the time to do it right. I’ve found my Dallas nail shop!

Simple, no frills just good work. I’ve been to the places where it’s all fluff n up selling which I don’t mind but the work isn’t as good as the hype. I had a pedicure with gel overlays (worth the extra $ 15 — stays shiny forever and strengthens my weak toenails) and a new set of acrylics. (During the pedi, which I’m not a huge fan of since I don’t get to totally relax for my pedi) but was very time efficient.
The pedicurist (Yen) was as particular as I am, didn’t have to come home and clip or file anything. (which I normally have to) my nails by Hannah were done nicely again no tweaking when I got home;)
I would improve on the choice of polish and the music selection was like Muzak (elevator music) the staff speak very little English which makes chat challenging and they didn’t seem very happy. They were nice to me, just not happy being there.
I will return on my next visit to town !!!

Did not care too much for this place. I think they overcharge, the place is really bland, and their colors suck. I want fun colors for spring & summer… theirs are rather boring and all the same.
Also the ladies never did a good job on my acrylics. A few times one or two of my nails out of the set of 10 were a little crooked… and you could see my nail tip underneath… which should have been covered by the french tip of the acrylic… not ok.

My little sisters and I called ahead and glad we did! This place was packed during a weekday (and it was like 2pm). Nice and clean place and staff is really friendly. Prices are decent and they do a really great job of making you feel comfortable. Really great place and if I lived in Dallas I think I would consider this place my «go to» main/​pedi place!

My top coat wasn’t put on correctly and I noticed it peeling off an hour after I had left the place. I was too lazy to go back so my Unilocal review will be my passive aggressive way of complaining.
The service was fine. Not too warm or pampering, just fine. It cost $ 48 (including tip) for a mani/​pedi with flower designs on 2 toes. I thought that price was a bit steep.
The polish on my hands have fallen off 1 week after my visit but I was expecting that. My toes are beautiful though. I absolutely love the flower design and color. Overall, not a bad experience.

I’m so glad I discovered a new nail salon literally walking distance from my apartment. The people who work here are very friendly and they do a more-​than-​decent-​job with your beauty necessities. I only went in here 2 times, but do plan on frequenting this place for the future. I did the basic manicure and eyebrow waxing. Next time I come, I will probably do the acrylic, as their prices are super affordable compared to many of their competitors. It’s just a nice convenient place. No appointment necessary.

Just FYI, my review is for the gel manicure and not the pedicure (which was great)
So I went in for a manicure and pedicure and when I got there, I asked if they did gel manicures and the lady at the counter said yes.
Anyways, the lady that did my pedicure (she has short brown hair) did an excellent job and she was really nice.
The lady that did my manicure was kind of pushy. She tried to get me to do a french gel manicure and even after I said no, she took my nail to show me what it would look like, but again I said no.
Once she started with the gel polish, I realized she pretty much had no clue what she was doing. She messed up on a few nails and had to wipe it clean and start over. No joke, the manicure alone took an hour and a half. Once she was done, there was polish around the skin of my nail and there were some bubbles on the polish. It just wasn’t good.
If you come here for a pedicure and regular manicure, I bet they will do a great job, just skip the gel polish.
The total for pedicure and gel polish was $ 57 without tip.

French tip, «spa» pedicure that includes a parafin treatment, for a grand total of 37 dollars.
The place is sorta small, but with no appointment, my friend and I were seated and had our feet soaking within minutes of walking through the door.
Everything was pretty good and standard as far as pedis go. During parts of my massage my lady would run her nails around on my legs. It felt sorta good, but sorta odd at the same time. I could have gone for more pressure with the massage, but I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to ask for that.
My paint job was done well, although one of my toes got smudged when she slipped on my flip flop. She fixed it good as new. I honestly have to look away at the flip flop time. Otherwise, I try to «help» and end up doing more harm than good.
Everyone was nice and friendly, and I noticed the receptionist was taking lots of calls for appointments. They have their regulars and it’s clear why.
No wine here, but I’m alright-​ish with that.

First of all, the essential information: $ 15 for a manicure, $ 35 for a mani-​pedi. Nice value, I guess. I’d never pay more than that, and I’m not sure why anyone would, but apparently people do.
Three of us walked in around 11 am on a Saturday and had no problem getting seated immediately. Tiffany was right in saying that they don’t talk to you much, and the nice thing is, they don’t speak Chinese in front of you either, so you’re not wondering if they’re talking about you.
The first step in getting your nails done here is to choose a color. Oh my goodness. They have this huge rack of Opi colors, and for someone decision-​disabled like myself, it takes about 10 minutes to pick one. After that, the rest of the process is pretty fast. I’d say we were in and out in about 30 – 40 minutes.
They do a nice job of trimming the cuticles and all that, although the woman doing mine made my cuticles bleed twice (and gave me a surprised look each time like «whoa! something must be wrong with your cuticles!»). Still, no major harm done. The actual nail painting was fine enough… she actually chipped one herself while leaning into her drawer, but she fixed it really well. The arm massage I got wasn’t that great, but I noticed one of my friends getting a serious massage that looked amazing. So, I guess the quality varies with the manicurist (no surprise).
Best of all, we didn’t get carjacked! :)

I heart this place. Plain and simple.
I’ve been going here for 4 or 5 years now, ever since I moved away from that area and I still make my way back.
I never make an appointment and are usually soaking my feet within 5 minutes. Once I waited 15 minutes and I thought something was wrong… yea me!
Went this past weekend… got a mani/​pedi, by quite possibly the cutest two girls in the place. The lovely on my feet was adorable and super friendly… everytime I squirmed (i’m highly tickelish) she laughed and would ask if I was ok, ha. You wish. The girl on my nails told me I had lots of lines on them. «Good Fortune» she said. I replied «When will I get it?».
I got the spa mani/​pedi which comes with a parafin. Um… total for the daily beauty…$ 45. Uh-​huh. BEAT THAT!
