We utilized their services for an appeal on the 1^st year we’ve owned our home. Our taxes went up by $ 2k, or over nearly 40%. This company is very impressive over the phone, explaining that we had much room for taking our bill down, we were the top house in our neighborhood. Sadly they were only able to get around $ 300 knocked off, almost ½ of which we had to pay to them. Was truly expecting more. I provided photos, neighbor’s home is rated different condition as ours but are the same, I figured they had plenty to argue but either the county wasn’t budging or they didn’t work as hard on it as I had hoped they would. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

They did Manage to lower my taxes, not as much as I wanted, but you don’t always get what you want. I doubt if I would have done this myself if I would have had a better outcome. They followed my case all the way to arbitration and seemed passionate about what they were doing.
Their fee structure seems reasonable and fair and there were no surprises. I liked that they were very accessible by both phone and Email, and were patient and took time to answer all my questions and concerns.

Six months ago, I executed agreements with this company to appeal the property tax assessments on my home and on a house jointly owned by my sister-​in-​law. Several months later, I received a notification from NTPTS that they were unsuccessful in getting a reassessment on the jointly owned property. I received no communication regarding my home. Two weeks ago, I sent them an email saying that I had not been informed of the status of the appeal on my home, and that since the appeal period had surely expired, I expected them to at least let me know that they did not win an appeal. I have still received no response from them. As far as I know, they never even bothered to file the appeal.
There are plenty of reputable property tax appeal companies out there. Use one of them — not NTPTS.

This organization represents individuals to help them get their property tax reduced. I have been a customer for 5 – 6 years. One year they were successful, but that was several years ago. They have not been able to get a lower assessment on my house during the decline in home prices in Dallas. I get information from their competitors that shows my assessed value per square food is higher than my neighbors. Further, 79% of tax protests are successful if the individual uses representation such as this, so I am curious why North Texas Property Tax Services has not been able to do a better job. I have notified them that if they don’t come through this year I am going to switch to someone else.
