We build personal relationships with homeless friends in order to see life change. OurCalling exists to glorify God by leading homeless people to Christ and by making disciples on the streets. The needs are complex but the solution is simple. Dysfunction is the disease and Jesus is the cure. We want people to know that the chains of poverty and dysfunction can be broken and that a sustainable lifestyle is not beyond reach.

How do we accomplish that?

We focus on four different areas to accomplish our mission: education, mentoring, recovery, and resource distribution.

History

Established in 2009.

We started as a grass-​roots movement of volunteers back in 2001. We incorporated as a 501c3 in 2009. Originally we served meals on the streets once a week. Today we serve thousands of homeless individuals each week.

Wayne W.

Business Owner

Wayne Walker is Executive Director and pastor to the homeless at OurCalling, Inc., a nonprofit ministry in Dallas, Texas. At the age of ten, Wayne’s parents chose to become foster parents. Throughout his formative years, Wayne’s family actively pursued the scriptural commandment of «love your neighbor as yourself» by modeling the life of Jesus to scores of children whose own origins represented generations of human brokenness, dysfunction, sexual exploitation and abuse.
